I'm from Philly. And imma keep it real wit chu. BE CAREFUL if you move here. This is a rough city and no block or neighborhood is "too nice" for something bad to happen. The city is plagued with crime and drugs on every corner. And this is coming from a proud native

No sir. I still own the scooter but haven't did them in over 2 years. I moved from philly 8 months ago*.... several hours away and havent did any tours lately. If and when there will be tours it'll be either walking or driving. Appreciate your support.

I live in Philly and never heard of some of these neighborhood names. Seems like this can't be right because you left out South West and West Philly. Ironically so far as of April 2024 the worst crime as reported on the news has happened at the Five Points intersection in the Bustleton (Northeast) section. 8 people shot waiting for the bus ...
The news now declares any shooting involving 4 or more people as a mass shooting.
Also of note ... crime statistics indicate that crime dropped by quite a big in 2023 vs 2022 ... 323 murders vs 459.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this old video. I'm born and raised in North philly. Most folks haven't heard of many of these neighborhoods because they don't get out of their own area. Luckily I've documented over 100+ neighborhoods out of the 170+ neighborhoods in philly. Get on Google and visit wiki. A full list comes up. PHILLY has over 55 well known neighborhoods. But many lesser known neighborhoods. I've been all over the city. But I tend to document the more popular ones because when I do the ones no one has heard about I get simular comments like this. 🤣 check out a map sometime. Have a great day
I think renaming Strawberry Mansion back to Somerville might be a good idea
It wouldn't be because Somerville sounds like it would be a GOOD area
East Germantown is often referred to as Somerville. Back in the 1960 and 70s a notorious gang by that name used to control that area. Lots of people was killed back then in gang fights with Somerville. If you want to pinpoint the area I would say that the Lonnie Young Rec Center would be the heart of what many old heads still call Somerville (even though it's really East Germantown)... I used to live near there in a gang area called Haines Street. Ironically, most of those gangs were first started by white guys (remember the Fonzi). Black folks moved in and took over the gangs. As you can guess Germantown started to decline with such high gang crime going on. Hopefully it will recover one day ....

Out of the 4 kensingtons.(west kensington. East kensington. Olde kensington and the infamous Kensington. Which is north kensington) west kensington and Olde kensington are more north geographically than the imfamous strip you see online. That belongs to lower north east. I'll be doing an overview of that area in the future. As well as top 10 from every part of the city. (South,southwest,west,north west, center city, northeast) thanks for commenting
