I have an original Trailmaster, and it is what every knife wants to be. I have hunted, backpacked and camped with it for over 20 yrs. and it’s ready to go to work right now.
Big Cold Steel fan here...That knife is beyond awesome! I couldn't decide on whether to get the Recon Scout or one of those...So I got them both... then I got a Natchez Bowie, then I got a Marauder...I may be out of control. 😂 Enjoy, brother! 👍🤙
Nice! I am looking forward to getting the Recon Scout eventually, maybe Christmas lol. I'll drop a hint to my wife hahaha Yeah when I found myself getting two knives a week I knew I had a problem 😂. I'll enjoy them alright, you too man! Thanks for watching 👍🔪⚔️🗡️🇺🇸!
Have had my Carbon V Trailmaster for 30 years and it still gets used. Have had my Carbon V SRK even longer. Carried it as an infantryman throughout the 90s. It also still gets used. I own alot of Cold Steel products from blowguns to swords, throwing knives, stars, tomahawks and alot of rare and expensive ones. I'm an outdoorsman and my tools get used hard. Their newer stuff is nothing like their bread and butter. Lookin at the 3V SRK now.
Nice! I very much enjoy using my Cold Steel knives for work. My Voyagers, mainly the XL Clip Point, have been getting lots of use lately. Nothing like what you've probably used them for, mostly lots of cardboard and insulation and plastic cutting. Mine are all newer except two, a Katana machete and a mini Recon 1. Was Cold Steel popular when you were an infantryman? Just asking. Those knives you mentioned sound badass. I wish I knew they were around back then. You sound like a true Cold Steel fan, I salute you sir haha 👍🔪⚔️🗡️🇺🇸.
@adrianfytr35 Most people don't really know alot of brands, especially back then. Very few had Cold Steel because most weren't really knife guys. They bought whatever the PX sold, which were usually cheap. They carried CRKT, Kershaw, Buck etc. Most actually asked me when they needed a knife. Lol Brought a Roach Belly to work today. Gonna use a milling machine to put a little texture on the handle.
I’m sure you did, but always check your grind lines. I’ve seen many people complain about them, but I was lucky to receive a flawless one. My knife has never touched the default sheath, they ruin edges. I purchased an aftermarket leather sheath for it. Such a great knife gifted to you by a wonderful wife.
Oh yes, I did check, I poured over that blade for a good two hours the first day I had it lol. It was flawless. That is, until I put it in the Secure-Ex sheath ☹️. Took it out, small scratch on the flawless blade. It was my fault, I should've listened to like every single person that has a video on this knife lol. It was gonna get scratched up eventually, but I wanted to do the scratching. Thanks for watching 👍🔪⚔️🗡️! Oh and yes my wife is super awesome for gifting me the Trailmaster 🤠.
spend some $ get a good leather or KYDEX sheath for it. lots of folks make them for the Trail Master. and Bassturd is a good Dude , but take that blade out and use it ! ive had the O1 version for about 10 years you can chop telephone poles down and baton them into kindling with it...yours with 3V is an even tougher beast ! I subbed ! you better get your wife the best Christmas present ever after she got you that !
Whoa wow thanks man!! Very much appreciated 👍. I've already put micro scratches on the blade with that Secure-Ex sheath lol dang it. A kydex sheath sounds good. Yeah this guy's channel is new to me but I like his style. And yes, my wife's getting something very special this year for Christmas 🎁😂. Thanks for the sub and for watching 👍🔪⚔️🗡️!
Don't I know it! I am definitely lucky with all the dumb shit I've pulled haha, she still buys me awesome knives lol. It's my grail knife for sure, just gotta go camping and put it to a real test. Thanks for watching 👍🔪⚔️🗡️!
I have a Trailmaster currently. It’s the new 3V model and it came with good grinds, but it did have a long parallel scratch in the satin finish on one side out of the box. I did order a Recon Scout, which I liked a lot, but the grind on the spine was actually really bad, so I returned it. I’m gonna try another purchase for the Recon Scout at some point for a better quality controlled one.
Oh damn, if mine came with a scratch I'd be pretty angry lol. And also not happy hearing about a messed up Recon Scout, as I'm planning on getting one within the upcoming year. I'm not giving up hope in Cold Steel yet, I'm too new to this knife game lol. How has the Trailmaster held up so far? Oh by the way, Happy New Year!! Thanks for watching 👍🔪🗡️!
The Recon Scout is a badass knife! It was my original choice but when I saw the Trail Master for $220 I had to go for it. I'm definitely getting a Recon Scout someday. As for use, I am currently making plans to go camping and get some hard use out of all my fixed blades, just gotta learn how lol. Thanks for watching 👍🔪⚔️🗡️!
😎😎 I can’t see you practicing your preps with the trail master if you got the drop forged survivalist at your disposal, save the trail master behind glass, & keep it fresh ,break glass if shtf.🧟♂️ Fire it up Friday- videos are fun🔥 make a small fire & cook sumthin/ boil water at least. ✌️🤟🤙
Haha you read my mind! Eventually it will see hard use but for now it's staying on my little table of knives( I dont have a display case yet). I put it in the sheath, and as expected there's now a micro scratch on both sides of the blade☹️. And yes my Survivalist just begs for some heavy duty chopping action 😂. Thanks for watching 👍🔪⚔️🗡️!

Dang that is awesome! A testament to Cold Steels quality! Well, besides the ones that break 😂. Is it that 01 steel?
