You said the ball joint can't be pushed out and replaced. It has to replaced as one unit. But, when looking for an 05 Altima, I've seen control arms for sell without the ball joint and the ball joint sold separately.
Hello 1AAuto. I am in the process of replacing my lower control arms in my 06 nissan maxima that has 240k miles. Due to time constraints, I was only able to replace the driver side lower control arm. I did all of these steps only not raising the control arm before torquing the bolts. I drove the car around the block and now have a loud(in cabin) knocking sound that randomly happens. Could it because I didn't raise the control arm before torquing or can it be stabilizer end links that also have 240k miles. There was no knocking sound prior to me changing the lower control arm. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
I'm in the process of doing this now. The part at 9:30 is where I'm stuck. My ball joint is a full 1 1/2 inches almost 2 inches away from the knuckle. No matter which way I turn the wheel nothing lines up close enough to get the ball joint back into the knuckle.
+Donnie Cook Hello, that is sometimes a good idea, but if your other side is in good shape and you are able to get the vehicle aligned after you should be all set. Thanks! 1AAuto.com
+Nick Acuna It may be a different procedure on your application. We currently do not have an auto repair video for this particular year, make and model. Thank you for asking. 1aauto.com
The wheel is connected to the knuckle. The top of the knuckle is held by the strut, the bottom of the knuckle is held by the control arm. Those two connections keep the wheel vertical to the road.
I had to use a 3 ft extension on my breaker bar to get that outer double bolt off. There is a little pocket in the frame where the bolt sticks out of, where water can sit and rust the frame.
+King Dolo At this moment, the closest how-to video we have to your request is for this vehicle, which is very similar to the one you have. The steps may not be 100% the same, but should contain an adequate amount of information necessary for accomplishing this task! 1aauto.com
Please i dont have too much experience, what the benefit of lower control arm in the vehicle ???? I mean what the duty of lower control arm in the vehicle

ShotGunMoe I know this is late but fyi if you ever get stuck take a Jack to Jack up the ball joint into the knuckle then tighten with wrench
Do you need to torque the castle nut to a specific ft-lb as well?

Would it require the same tools for a 2000 altima?
+D-Lo Baby You may need different tools on that particular vehicle. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com

All joints are usually pivot points for the steering. And the bushings dampen.
Torque specs seem to vary between your videos
Thanks..
Thanks for watching our video! +TheWeedMercenary
