I have a wild theory based only on some words from the notes on Sazz's desk: cancel Dr appt, the future is terminal, sick pup. She might know she's going to die of something like cancer and hires a hit man to kill her when she doesn't expect it. And as part of a hit man's job (from what I've seen in movies), they have the means and connections to clean up after themselves. Maybe that sound in her appt was the hit man collecting the money for doing the job (assuming they arranged a place for the drop off/pick up). It would explain the random numbers in the notes- it's for the code to a safe to collect the money from. I know it's a stretch, but Sazz lived a wild and exciting life, and I can see her wanting an exciting death. She's also always playing a role of someone else, so maybe this is a role or scene from a movie she's wanted to play/ live out. Maybe she knew someone from the West side of the Arconia (there was something on the desk about it) who was a retired hit man. Charles also mentions a cold case in the building, which is most likely related. But, my biggest theory, and I don't think it'll come out until the final season, is that all the Murders are connected, and Howard is the link among them. I don't think he has killed anyone personally, but I think he has provided the killers with information that gives them the means to kill, possibly unintentionally at first, and intentionally later for podcast fame.
@@DoublePMedia I have another piece of evidence to support the theory that all these murders might be connected… remember in season one when Tim’s phone was given to the police station? That department in the police station was supposed to go through Tim’s phone and check it. But they never did. And so the lady police officer gave that phone back to the only murders crew. And she said something along the lines of colon: this was never investigated in the department that supposed to do this, which is strange, and that means that someone in the department didn’t want it to be looked into….. we have never gotten to this. This loose thread has never been solved… and I will die on this hill, that to someone in the police department somehow connecting all of these things
Fixing the death is definitely what I want. Sazz is my favorite secondary character by far. One thing of note is that the incinerator said “Out of order do not use.”
Here are my observations for this episode: 1- The roses in Sazz' home were clearly uncared for for an extended period and the mail started to accumulate. This tells me Sazz hasn't been home in a long time. Perhaps her life was threatened or she had problems in LA 2- The killer shouldn't really know where Sazz's home is (assuming the one we heard is the killer), what her list of upcoming gigs is (i.e. doubling for Bakula) what the passcode for her phone is and that she lives in LA unless the killer knows at least some info about Sazz' life and is perhaps a part of it. 3-As you said the incineration act, the note about replacing the window and the specific texts to Charles indicate that the killer knew he could hide his kill because Sazz doesn't have a tight-knit group of friends and family the way Charles does with Mabel, Oliver and Lucy. The first 3 points indicate that maybe Sazz is the real target. No solid proof yet but i am just guessing. 4- The hole the bullet came from is from a lower height, which indicates that the killer was prepared to shoot someone in a lower floor. (Maybe shooting Charles/Sazz in Oliver's appartment since that's where the party took place) 5- I would like to believe that Sazz faked her own death.. but what did Gravey smell if not the smell of a burnt corpse?
@@DoublePMedia i definitely see where this could be a detail that hints to Sazz being the target but if the killer is after Charles and Sazz “took over his lease”, is there any chance Charles’ name is still attached to the apartment in some way and the killer doesn’t know that OR is a former colleague/partner/coworker of Charles who once had access to his old LA apartment while he lived there? i’m also stuck on the line Charles says about new Hollywood starlets renting next to people who have lived there forever - is it someone who has lived there the whole time, even during Charles’ residency? perhaps someone who knows both Sazz and Charles by way of being neighbors..?
@@DoublePMedia Sazz was onto the Producers and or writers and she told them stuff that would impact the starting of the movie. They didn’t want trouble from Sazz
For the fake death theory - I’m just not sure why we (the audience) would seen the shooting scene if she’s faking her death. There’s no one there to see her get shot, so why would that be a part of her faking her death? That’s what makes me thinks it’s real. I’m still convinced that the killer wanted to kill Charles, but I still can’t figure out who’d want to do that! Excited to follow along with your videos throughout the season. Also - not sure if this would be prominent but I believe the apartments Sazz lives in is the same apartments from Mulholland Drive 👀 (another film that heavily features the Paramount lot!)
YES! McKenzie, great note about Mulholland Drive. Who will be OMITB's man behind the diner? :) Before watching the first episode, I would've NEVER thought Sazz faked her death... but after watching it... It was my first thought, and as I re-watch it, I can't unsee it.
I think it’s Bakula. He said “white haired white man” as the bad guy in once upon a time in the west did and he was at her LA home and he was a connection between Sazz and Charles
“And I keep hearing this whistling noise. Sazz is a whistler . Did I ever tell you that?” Charles “ The Golden Swan . The stuff of legend. I lived here during season one of Brazzos, before Sazz took over my lease”. If those ain’t the most Chekhov gun reference, I’ve ever heard in my entire life. That is going to make a BIG comeback something this season. I guarantee it.
I laughed out loud many times. Can we acknowledge the break in scene a nod to Season 1 when Charles explained to Mabel how he learnt to picklocks. I that that was next level writing.
Still possible that the real target was Charles. Thats why the killer hid the body and pretended Sazz was still alive. Season 3 when she asks if Charles may have been the target, she also says she had heard some things. If so, there is still someone out for Charles and may try again
@@DoublePMedia every time i watch this i wonder the same thing! on my recent rewatch, something told me someone locked him in there. no evidence for that but i got the sense that was the intention
I think this season has tons of potential. Especially with the murder being cleaned up so quickly & semi-well, setting up for way more of a mystery element. It’s gonna take at least another episode for me to make any guesses though!
I'm honestly scared about spoilers this season, especially if you're right about that blurred photo being from the finale. I really wish they wouldn't send advance copies to the press; they should all be suffering weekly, just like the rest of us.
I don’t think Sazz is faking her death. In the very beginning of the episode, there is a blackout while they’re recording their podcast, and Charles makes a point that it hasn’t happened in awhile. Oliver follows that up by saying it hasn’t happened since they banned the use of the incinerator, which leads me to believe that’s when sazz was pushed through it. This also could put a timestamp on when the killer was in and out of the building.
The killer was in the building a LONG time. The shot which killed Sazz happened during the Death Rattle Dazzle opening night party. Recording the OMITB podcast must have taken a while, and the incinerator turned on when they were done.
Sazz isn't dead - yet. I think she will be before the end of the season, though. Is it just me, or does Bev Melon bear a "familial" resemblance to Cinda Canning? As for who did it, too soon for a good guess, but I'm going to start with Loretta. She jumped on a plane right after she found out about the play. She seemed...odd...even a little nervous, at the party. And she was working hard to get Oliver to move to LA - far away from Charles.
Didn’t Bacula say “white haired white guy” at Sazz’s LA house to Charles in the episode in reference to the “black hat” in once upon a time in the west ? Maybe that’s a clue that he’s the bad guy
I think it’s Loretta. She wants Oliver to move to Los Angeles and by intending to kill Charles she could influence Oliver to move because he would be all alone in New York. Also Loretta would not have been too far away from Sazz’s death as it occurred after the party. Loretta could’ve mistaken Sazz for Charles.
I am suspicious of Loretta, the picture in the pink eye guy’s flat had someone’s face scribbled out. They had blond hair it could have been Loretta or a young Saz. Pink eye guy could still be the assassin, maybe that’s why he get’s pink eye all the time from putting his eye to the scope all the time. 🤷♂️
If Sazz is alive I highly suspect it’ll be Sazz and Jan. From what I remember Sazz and Jan never broke up so it could be Jan trying to get payback somehow by setting it all up and making them do this goose chase with no end. Plus it explains the “long game” note because we haven’t seen her since season 2
LOL - More info than you want: I watch the show when it comes out on Monday at midnight. I pause and take notes and finish at 1am. Then I wake up a 7am, and capture the show on my computer for screen grabs/clue hunts/etc. At work, I write the script and pull feedback. Get home from work at 5:30pm and edit/export til 1am. Release Wednesday morning. Repeat following week.
I also wondered if Sazz was dead. Why burn the body? And half clean up the crime scene? The extra time was not used to kill Charles again. Was Sazz prepared to fake her death or use the murder attempt to her advantage? Then go undercover and expose the person after Charles. Was she in her apartment making the noise?
The Art of Intuition is back! You are 100% correct. They cleaned up most of the blood, and the glass, but didn't catch the blood on the oven door handle -- we know that a maid did not commit this crime!
Surely the killer qsked for the window to be replaced to get rid of the oast piece of evidence, and that would also explain why the killer would want them to go to LA, to get them out of the apartment
Like your logic! The killer would have to know that Charles didn't notice the hole in the window, and that Charles' hadn't already asked Lester to help replace it
I don't think they would have *had* to know neccasarily, other than he had gone to LA, it could have been lucky, it would make sense for the killer to get rid of the evidence ASAP, even if Charles had called the police, if Lester removes (and presumably destroys) the window then the evidence is lost and they know nothing other than there was a hole in Charles' window. This feels like it's to point the finger at Howard, but remember he was at the party when Sazz died. (Although I did just think, how did he get I to Charles' apartment with Gravey, and how do we know Sazz was shot through the window and not from behind?
@@DoublePMedia not much that hasn't already been mentioned by others, but I can't help wondering who the heck is Helga? and is that clue just a red herring 🤷
We are back baby! Right after watching teh episode an hour ago i jumped here to see your video! I love experiencing teh season piece by piece! this is so exciting!
At least he died again after lol. But no, I don't want a fake-out death. That ending was super impactive. Don't undermind it. The story would have to be REALLY tight if they want a fake-out death.
I just noticed something on Sazz's desk. The '''WEST TOWER'' note has the E that looks like a backward 3 and a block letter E. So did she write the door notes?
Thanks for this Awesome analysis! I noticed that Sazz was dressed as the Thin Man from the whodunnit movie "The Thin Man" featuring Nick and Nora Charles, starring William Powell, Myrna Loy. Also - In Once Upon a Time in the West, Charles notes that there is no dialogue in the first few minutes. And there is no dialogue at the last few minutes at the end of this episode of OMITB.
THANK YOU for the kind feedback! I love Nick and Nora! There's always talk about making a modern 'Thin Man' and I always wonder if they'll let them be drunk in the new version :) Great note about the 'no dialogue' too!
With the number 4 being so prominent in the episode (and the season being 4) I’m guessing it was Loretta because she wanted to be the 4th member of the podcast, and when she wasn’t made part of the group she decided to kill off Charels and have Oliver all to herself.
I don't think Sazz is faking her death. But I also don't think we have quite enough clues to piece things together. I suspect that whoever the big bad is, it's someone from Charles' past that maybe hates his guts now. Hell, it would be amusing if it turned out to be Scott Bakula. (I doubt it is). But we'll see... Season 4's off to a great start!
Doubt this is anything related but it seems as though the shot was directed to Charles because if they knew Sazz they would have known about her limbs to not just leave it as evidence from the incnerator. Also, why was Charles driver coughing so much? Maybe from breathing in too much smoke from the incinerator? But that's if it was even used at all as it did also say out of order. I can't wait to see more clues to finally get more ideas.
Question? Who locked Charles door when the trio went upstairs to have a night cap? Did Charles lock the door and give Sazz a spare key to get the wine? Whoever removed the body locked the door behind him. 🧐
I like the idea that Sazz is faking her death. I wonder if Charles is in on it… they may have already had that conversation about the sensitive subject. There must be a reason Sazz went to his apartment instead of him. And why would he announce he was going upstairs?
that being said, Sal Sneiderburgsdorff, president of Socials (Social Media) gave weird vibes when shaking hands, especially Mabel saying "obsessed." Then you see him next to Bev Melon in the very next scene doing a really fake laugh.
Maybe at the end there's going to be an episode where characters are going to accuse each other or sabotage each other. Sort of like the movie once upon a Time in the Wild West.
Is it just me or is Bakula wearing Henry Fonda’s get up in Once Upon A Time In The West??? Two actors who usually play good guys?? 👀 They mention Bakula in every season!
i don’t know if this has been mentioned yet but i believe to have a clue that may have been missed. it’s given to us right away and leads me to believe a few things: 1) the killer has been following Olimabel (“the Charles is silent”) the entire time, 2) Sazz is actually dead and 3) the trio is in the building when Sazz’s body is disposed of. the killer is absolutely with them at the Arconia when Sazz’s body is disposed of - rewatch the opening scene. Charles is recording the V.O. for the pod, and is cut off because the power surges to which Oliver says something to the effect of “we haven’t had those since before they told us to stop using the incinerator”. this is the moment Sazz’s body is burned. the killer used the incinerator, causing the power surge. they are all in the building with the murderer. the murderer shoots Sazz, breaks in (paint chips! window pried! although…what floor does Charles live on?? not an easy task), cleans up and then takes Sazz’s body. all in the few hours that the trio have been recording at Oliver’s. the murderer then travels along with them to LA and keeps tabs on them. you pointed out that one shot at Sazz’s apartment where it seems like they’re being watched from an upper balcony and that’s followed by the rustling in the other room. definitely being watched. in my opinion, this is also reason to no longer suspect Bev Melon, as she would seemingly be working on the film at the studio instead of in NY. that, however, does not apply to Marshall or the Brothers sisters, as they could easily have told the studio they were doing research in NY to complete the script and head into pre-production. i suspect someone in the west tower… just need the motive.
Like this write up! If this is correct, I'm cancelling my Arconia HOA fees! How did Lester or Ursula not know the incinerator was back up and running?! Time for new management!
@@DoublePMedia lol definitely a good question! maybe one of them is involved or perhaps the murderer is playing a version of the hinted at “long game” and they’re the one who declared the incinerator out of order and they might be trusted by Lester or Ursula..?
yes! I agree - I think too that the killer was listening in to their conversation in the flat and wants/needs them to go to LA, because the text comes right when Charles is saying that he can’t go to LA…. As if they’re being listened in on…
@@CallsHimselfAWriter yep, i noticed that too. whoever it is seems to be traveling with them at all times… i also think the killer was intending to kill Charles and had no clue about Sazz’s metal joints before tossing her down the chute
I also had this idea, but currently I'm really digging in the dark. Somehow they made the episode ending super dark, although we already knew that Sazz was dead. Who's Helga though? Charles' Ex? Lucy has disappeared (like Tobert), but that might be a motive for killing Charles...
So many close friends and relationships: Oscar, Lucy, Alice, Tobert are gone for good. But what about Ursula and Dr. Grover Stanley?!? We want them back!
Really gripping first episode! Loved the fake-outs of the trio finding the body and it not even being there. I'm not sure how I feel about a potential non-death but I get a strong feeling whoever is involved knows Sazz and the trio very well - they seem to know their movements and activities very well, they know the Arconia, and they even know how Sazz talks through messages EDIT: Also, I don't think Paramount studios would really allow anyone fictionally representing them to be a killer, so I'd immediately rule out all of those new characters
Smart thought on Paramount! OMITB runs on Disney/Hulu... is it made by Disney? (Sometimes a show is produced by one studio and run on a different studio's streaming service)
I watched the trailer and I noticed you can see very quick a scene with what appears to be a sniper woman preparing to shoot. Since I watched it after the episode I immediately thought it looked like one of the brothers sisters (Trina I think). Unless it's someone we haven't met yet, the little we see and the style of clothing seems to match. Together with the fact there's a 'lesbian sisters' thing on the table, and a 'west tower' note, it makes me thing the whole Sazz faked her death (with maybe the help of the sisters, instructing them where to shoot from?) isn't so far fetched. Plus as everyone says, we didn't actually see the dead body. Maybe Sazz realized someone was trying to kill Charles and this was some elaborate plan to trick them, maybe it went wrong and she really died. If so we'd have the fake killers and then the one that's still trying to kill.
Maybe Sazz knew about this movie based on the podcast was in the works. She knows the Hollywood type. Maybe they want to freely have access without having to spend all this money to sign rights away. Mabel thinks it's suspicious and not agreeing to sign. I doubt the movie will be made as they have something to do with the death of Sazz
It feels like a cheap NCIS-tier trick to have Sazz apparently suffer a lethal wound while alone simply to fool the audience. Unless there's some strong evidence to the contrary, I think it really is her in the furnace. And maybe I can give another hint in addition to 'identical twins': I don't suspect any character has a secret sibling/twin, but still, this crime has something to do with identical twins, just not in the way a detective would initially assume...
they have showed us Sazz being shot and I operate that everything that is shown on screen, is real, true and did actually happen. So she is shot, but we didnt see her die. so if shes shot in the chest, I dont know how she would survive it on her own even if she called 911 herself. And in that case, wouldnt the authorities be at the house until CHS came home and/or be out looking for him?
Love this response - couple of thoughts. Last season, Sazz was shot in a relatively pitch black apartment. The show did this to make viewers think it was Charles... and the side effect, is that viewers didn't really SEE Sazz getting shot. Then, why did the killer have to hide/burn the body? Did they need to hide the time of death? Need to impersonate Sazz for a while? Hmm
Worried that if Sazz is alive, she'll die... a bit like how the audience thought Ben Glenroy was alive, then he was alive, but he ended up dying anyway
Your feedback made me do some research: Wikipedia: 'long game' refers to the category of golf shots that are made from the tee box or otherwise far from the green. Film Title: THE LONG GAME: In 1955, five young Mexican-American caddies created their own golf course in the middle of the South Texas desert.
@@DoublePMedia I dont think she is the Moriarty its more like .. someone that is in contact with Moriarty killed Sazz because Sazz KNEW too much ... the Moriarty allready didntl like the trio and probably tried last season allready to get rid of charles and now someone else is also looking into ...the arconia....so the moriarty must have made a plan to get rid of sazz .. on her desk is a note about a poisoned or sick dog ... this goes back as you know all the way back to Season 1 .... i think this is the start of the unraveling of who is Moriarty but we may only find out this season about a underling why we face vs moriarty in Season 5 which might be the final season since i heared there is a 5 Season plan
All I thinking about is the kind of person to make that shot. The person had to be well trained, either with the military or police or a professional shooter in hunting, from what I can tell from the clues of Sazz's death our shooter was definitely gunning for Charles.
It definitely crossed my mind that Sazz was still alive. But so far I don't have any suspects. I dont think the killer has appeared yet. I dont think its just one person.
What makes me suspicious of Happy, Happy Howard is that for a cat person, he specifically bought a cadaver dog. While Murderous Morris said it was because of him not being allowed any more cats, it could be a devious lie! As Sazz’s notes say, someone is playing the long game. But who is playing the long ga-oh wait, it’s Howard! In this episode, the number “4” was brought up to Charles’ note to a Hollywood studio. Maybe there will be a fourth detective traitor. Also, the text at the end saying “Not your f-ing friend” could go two ways: the killer could be saying their not Sazz or it could be someone they thought to be their friend, say Howard. *IT’S AN F-ING CONSPIRACY! EVERYTHING POINTS TO THE CAT GUY!*
look at the breaking news on bev melon's phone again...does it look like Howard or someone wearing a Howard sweater holding 4 CATS?! the number 4 is popping up like crazy in this episode!!
13:31 something I’ve noticed. If a name comes up in the opening titles(theme song)like the actor for Howard this season…the suspicion should be on them. Doesn’t necessarily mean they r the killer but they r very important this season
I think Mabel's deal with the producer wasn't just for money. I think she wants to set up her own production company, to make more podcasts like OMITB. That's what she wanted to talk to Howard about. About Brazzos: Steve Martin was born in Waco, Texas. It is situated along the Brazos River. It doesn't discount any theory, but it's something to consider before getting too far ahead with them. Of all the characters, the one I'm sure didn't shoot or kill Sazz was Charles. He seemed really concerned about where she was and was devastated in the scene in the boiler room. But maybe they plan to make him look guilty, like Teddy Dimas in season 1 or Cinda Canning in season 2.
I think it might be Charles' sister (who we are going to meet) who wants him dead and has someone living in the west building of the Arconia, She might have hired someone to do the job and Sazz might have found out about it somehow. They might have wanted to shoot Charles but killed Sazz instead.
10:47 if Sazz is faking it could it be the other rival studios movie? Or could the killer be filming all of this for their own sick movie? Ms. Melon wanting to rush out her movie makes me question theses. I don’t think she’s the killer but she just have clues
Sazz is not dead but I don't believe she is behind this. The incinerator scene gave me pause. Could the mystery person be someone from the OG tv show Brazzos? (not the 2.0 production) Sazz appears to have been researching something, or someone. Sazz may have uncovered such something and/or someone. I'm going to go back and look at what was on Sazz's desk again as I think there are some clues I want to write down for future reference. Also, take a look around the meeting room in Hollywood, I have a feeling this will be important. Details. Never overlook the tiniest of details.
Good notes. One thing I can't discover is how an L.A. killer knew the inside/outs of the Arconia. They know how to find Charles' apartment from the West Tower. They know how to dispose of a body in the furnace. Points to a NYC killer imo
@@DoublePMedia This may be why the 'killer' may be someone Charles was involved with back in the day or, possibly, an OG cast member who, like himself, is from NY, and could explain why they knew about the intricoes of the Arconia. What do we know about the doorman? I'm trying to recall if we know anything about the doorman?
My first instinct was definitely Sazz faking her death. I suspect she learned something she couldn't outright tell Charles and set up this mystery knowing he'd investigate and come upon it along the way. The main thing that jumped out to me at her apartment was the "LONG GAME" note, and knowing how meta and self-aware the show tends to be it wouldn't surprise me if this is the season Howard is revealed to actually be some sort of Big Bad. "Not Your Fucking Friend" could be a straightforward indication that someone else has Sazz's phone, but it could also be a warning that someone Charles is close with has malicious intentions.
For Hollywood actors faking thier death is not a hard thing when you spend a lot of time with special effects. I don’t think she’s the one doing this but I do believe she’s alive.
@@DoublePMediahonestly I don’t think she’s evil. If she wanted vengeance thier are other ways than getting yourself shot and nobody around to know it. But then again she could be setting the stage for things to go her way.
I have a question and a thought about Sazz. My question is: when Sazz was shot, she seemed to be leaving a dying message. But since the crime scene was later tampered with, was the message also erased? What’s the point of this scene? As for my thought about whether Sazz faked her death, maybe she has a sister instead of a brother (given the sister-brother joke), and either she was killed, or her sister died in her place. Well, this is a somewhat corny drama device, so it's just a thought.
Good question! My guesses: Either the show wanted to have her leave a message, then when writing season 4, decided a message in blood didn't make sense. OR somehow it will be discovered as the Podcast 3 investigate
@@DoublePMedia I would very much prefer that the message in blood be incorporated into later investigations, either by the leading trio or by the police. I also have some wild guesses: could this message in blood somehow be the reason that triggered the dog when it was first introduced at the crime scene? If so, could it also be that the wounded Sazz was hiding and then rescued by the dog owner, and that they together faked her death?
@16:52 - This theory doesn't make sense. They think Joy left Charles because of Sazz? No, that was Charles' own doing. He messed up that relationship himself. Joy left Charles because he screwed up. He wasn't honest about his feelings about her moving in. That's on Charles, not Sazz.
I think for some reason it was Bev, and that hopefully Sazz is still alive. I think you’re right in that it all has something to do with the life rights that Bev wanted , and it just all seemed so rushed 🤔
Sazz faking her death just for shits and giggles would be both a let down and...completely in character for her. here is hoping mabel does the pet´s jobs podcast!
Is it just me or were the brothers sisters very suspicious and there's also the fact that we're gonna meet Charles' sister. Also Cookie (Charles' ex) was on the suspect board in the trailer so I'm interested to see what could happen with that.
I don’t think she faked her death. Grave-y the cadaver dog sniffed out the body. It’s possible it was someone else’s body, not hers, but the joint replacement parts would seem to confirm it was her (unless she planted them there along with ashes of another dead body-I don’t find that very plausible though).
@@DoublePMedia I mean, we know that death surrounds these three, but I think that with Charles is even more. Since last season (mostly because of season finale, I admit) I think that Charles will eventually be killed and his murder probably be investigated by season 5 (with season 5 being the final season). It's just a crazy theory hahahaha but here is my evidence: 1 - Jan being a sociopath and almost killing Charles in season 1; 2 - Charles's dad being connected in a way with Bunny in season 2; and now, Sazz'z. I don't think that OMITB can go with more seasons than 5, so my theory is that: Charles will die and they will investigate his murder hahahaha.
I think she was shot and there is definitely evidence pointing to her ultimate demise in the basement furnace. Notwithstanding I think she's faking her death. Perhaps I'm just in denial.
The dog isn’t a good cadaver dog. This is why he’s in a shelter. The replacement bone isn’t Sazz’s. She may have faked her death. Not sure why or any other details
Well they said they got a power surge at the start of the ep and hadn't had one since the old incinerator stopped being used, so you'd assume it works it's just it causes power surges
I think the fact that 4 keeps getting referenced in this episode is a big clue. Perhaps it means a group of 4 people... Maybe a group of 4 people who all hate Charles enough to kill him... I mean, it makes sense if you think about it. When it comes to timing, it wasn't on the killers side. 1. For the killer to go from shooting in another building all the way to the Arconia ... 2. Then to finding a way to get inside Charles apartment that doesn't look like a break in... 3. To then cleaning up all the blood and mess well enough for it to not seem suspicious... 4. Having to come up with a way to carry out a heavy dead Sazz out of Charles apartment without it seeming suspicious to the neighbors... 6. Last but not least, actually picking up Sazz's heavy body into the incinerator before leaving the Arconia in such a small amount of time seems impossible by just one person but with a group of people it seems plausible to pull off. But, that's just my theory for this season, who knows maybe I'm wrong. Will just have to wait and see! 😎
I do believe that she is dead, and I think we are looking at more than one person. Also, the person either needs a Master Key or they know about the secret passages from series 2. This could be a red herring, but it would suggest someone with a connection to NYC rather than LA. I also think the series will end with Mabel saying no to the film studio.
@@DoublePMedia It’s hard to call! I can see both being satisfying conclusions. I’m hesitant on Bev as that feels too akin to last series for me. My wild theory is Joy and Bakula. She’d have access to Charles’ place and that message to Bakula where he says he can’t show them, could be a cover up, I think the LA lot will end up being a hindrance to the actual investigation.
WHO SHOT SAZZ? Let us know in the comments
I think the Brother's sisters did it.
@@slimshady-ys4kb They're directors.... but what they really want to do is KILL 😀

Oh yes, oh yes, oh yes. You're going down paths that my mind is going down too
@@DoublePMedia I have another piece of evidence to support the theory that all these murders might be connected… remember in season one when Tim’s phone was given to the police station? That department in the police station was supposed to go through Tim’s phone and check it. But they never did. And so the lady police officer gave that phone back to the only murders crew. And she said something along the lines of colon: this was never investigated in the department that supposed to do this, which is strange, and that means that someone in the department didn’t want it to be looked into….. we have never gotten to this. This loose thread has never been solved… and I will die on this hill, that to someone in the police department somehow connecting all of these things
@@GlubySnotGlubbiest Yep!! We also don’t know who put the note on Jan’s door!
What noise in Sazz’s apartment?
Fixing the death is definitely what I want. Sazz is my favorite secondary character by far. One thing of note is that the incinerator said “Out of order do not use.”
Same! but I don't think they will
100% - I'm not sure I've ever lived in a building with a furnace
I saw all three seasons. I didn't like season three. Taking the show out of the building ruined the show. For me.
Season 4 they are doing the same thing as Season 3. Taking the show out of the building thereby undermining the shows concept
@@markdaly1648but they are all died in the building
Here are my observations for this episode:
1- The roses in Sazz' home were clearly uncared for for an extended period and the mail started to accumulate. This tells me Sazz hasn't been home in a long time. Perhaps her life was threatened or she had problems in LA
2- The killer shouldn't really know where Sazz's home is (assuming the one we heard is the killer), what her list of upcoming gigs is (i.e. doubling for Bakula) what the passcode for her phone is and that she lives in LA unless the killer knows at least some info about Sazz' life and is perhaps a part of it.
(Maybe shooting Charles/Sazz in Oliver's appartment since that's where the party took place)
5- I would like to believe that Sazz faked her own death.. but what did Gravey smell if not the smell of a burnt corpse?
Maybe the dog is really not a cadaver dog
Conan, really smart points. If the killer is after Charles, why would they be a Sazz's place in L.A.?
Before watching the first episode, I would've NEVER thought Sazz faked her death... but after watching it...
Did I ever tell you that?” Charles
“ The Golden Swan .
100%
Still possible that the real target was Charles. Thats why the killer hid the body and pretended Sazz was still alive.
Season 3 when she asks if Charles may have been the target, she also says she had heard some things.
If so, there is still someone out for Charles and may try again
Like that thought! I can't remember: when Charles was trapped in the storage closet in s3, did someone lock him in there or was it an accident?
@@DoublePMedia The writers seeded a lot of season 2 in season 1.
I wonder of they put some clues in season 3 about season 4
@@DoublePMedia every time i watch this i wonder the same thing! on my recent rewatch, something told me someone locked him in there. no evidence for that but i got the sense that was the intention
I think this season has tons of potential. Especially with the murder being cleaned up so quickly & semi-well, setting up for way more of a mystery element. It’s gonna take at least another episode for me to make any guesses though!
How about this: Do you think the killer has a Hollywood connection? Or are they based in NYC?
@@DoublePMedia right now, NYC. But time shall tell 🤷🏼♀️
I'm honestly scared about spoilers this season, especially if you're right about that blurred photo being from the finale. I really wish they wouldn't send advance copies to the press; they should all be suffering weekly, just like the rest of us.
Some critics wrote that they received the first 7 episodes. Hopefully lots of twists in those final 3
THIS SERIES IS MY LIFE
You've got a great life! :)
We're thinking alike... Great use of the word "- yet" :)
I did think Bev was cinda in a few different scenes
Didn’t Bacula say “white haired white guy” at Sazz’s LA house to Charles in the episode in reference to the “black hat” in once upon a time in the west ? Maybe that’s a clue that he’s the bad guy
I think it’s Loretta. She wants Oliver to move to Los Angeles and by intending to kill Charles she could influence Oliver to move because he would be all alone in New York. Also Loretta would not have been too far away from Sazz’s death as it occurred after the party. Loretta could’ve mistaken Sazz for Charles.
I would LOVE it if Loretta was the killer!
Like this idea!
I can’t believe how quick you make these
LOL - More info than you want: I watch the show when it comes out on Monday at midnight.
@@DoublePMedia Entire crime scene is super sus!
It would be like Sazz to do something like that.
(Although I did just think, how did he get I to Charles' apartment with Gravey, and how do we know Sazz was shot through the window and not from behind?
if you flip the sticky note on Sazz's desk that has the numbers 773440 upside down, it says "oh hell"
Hell Yeah! We mentioned that on our video about the s4 Trailers. What else have you noticed?
@@DoublePMedia not much that hasn't already been mentioned by others, but I can't help wondering who the heck is Helga? and is that clue just a red herring 🤷
We are back baby! Right after watching teh episode an hour ago i jumped here to see your video! I love experiencing teh season piece by piece! this is so exciting!
Oh Hell Yes! As a wise man once said "The rent is too damn high" so keep making victims until the Arconia is affordable!
I hope its not a fake-out death. Ben came back from the dead - enough is enough
Oh yes! Something odd is going on
Thanks for this Awesome analysis!
Yes the quiet at the end was such a nice homage. But I didn't notice how Sazz was dressed like the Thin Man so I have to check that out. Thanks.
THANK YOU for the kind feedback! I love Nick and Nora! There's always talk about making a modern 'Thin Man' and I always wonder if they'll let them be drunk in the new version :)
Great note about the 'no dialogue' too!

LOL - We're not sure there's 2 killers - but to clean up all that stuff wouldn't be an easy 1 man job :)
We need some luminol on that floor to see what Sazz wrote. Initials?
Yes, get the black light!
With the number 4 being so prominent in the episode (and the season being 4) I’m guessing it was Loretta because she wanted to be the 4th member of the podcast, and when she wasn’t made part of the group she decided to kill off Charels and have Oliver all to herself.
this is way to crazy, i love it
I love this show ! Interesting enjoyed this
Thanks! Looks like s4 will be great too!
100% great start!
LOVE that idea about Charles' driver! Seemed very odd to add that detail about the driver if there wasn't a point.
I'm guessing that Mabel's asking price was... a paid apartment at the Arconia.
She loves fixing up places... wait until she fixes up the Dudenoff place!
Question? Who locked Charles door when the trio went upstairs to have a night cap? Did Charles lock the door and give Sazz a spare key to get the wine? Whoever removed the body locked the door behind him. 🧐
Wonderful question.
I remember Sazz made a joke about having made copies of all their keys when she came into the party at Oliver's with the Belgian beer.
I like the idea that Sazz is faking her death. I wonder if Charles is in on it… they may have already had that conversation about the sensitive subject. There must be a reason Sazz went to his apartment instead of him. And why would he announce he was going upstairs?
Charles being in on it... that is a BRILLIANT idea
i dunno but its usually the scenes that seem inconsequential that the murderer lurks
that being said, Sal Sneiderburgsdorff, president of Socials (Social Media) gave weird vibes when shaking hands, especially Mabel saying "obsessed." Then you see him next to Bev Melon in the very next scene doing a really fake laugh.
Also, why wasn't Sal at the party where our protagonists meet their actor portrayals?
Maybe at the end there's going to be an episode where characters are going to accuse each other or sabotage each other. Sort of like the movie once upon a Time in the Wild West.
That is a great call --- who will be the Harmonica? The only person with "honor" in Once Upon a time in the West
Is it just me or is Bakula wearing Henry Fonda’s get up in Once Upon A Time In The West??? Two actors who usually play good guys?? 👀 They mention Bakula in every season!
Great thought!
i don’t know if this has been mentioned yet but i believe to have a clue that may have been missed. it’s given to us right away and leads me to believe a few things: 1) the killer has been following Olimabel (“the Charles is silent”) the entire time, 2) Sazz is actually dead and 3) the trio is in the building when Sazz’s body is disposed of. the killer is absolutely with them at the Arconia when Sazz’s body is disposed of - rewatch the opening scene.
You definitely hit the nail on the head with all of your points! I didn't think about a lot of this!
@@DoublePMedia I am sure Ursula will be back.
Really gripping first episode! Loved the fake-outs of the trio finding the body and it not even being there. I'm not sure how I feel about a potential non-death but I get a strong feeling whoever is involved knows Sazz and the trio very well - they seem to know their movements and activities very well, they know the Arconia, and they even know how Sazz talks through messages
EDIT: Also, I don't think Paramount studios would really allow anyone fictionally representing them to be a killer, so I'd immediately rule out all of those new characters
Smart thought on Paramount! OMITB runs on Disney/Hulu... is it made by Disney? (Sometimes a show is produced by one studio and run on a different studio's streaming service)
The thing is that later when the FBI investigates they must obviously have matched the ashes with Sazz's dna samples so most likely she's dead
That noise was coming from Jan as we saw in episode 2 Jan shows up in Charles apartment. She has Saz's phone cuz she was there the night Saz died
100% agree with your assumption based on first episode
Calendar? The card on Sazz's desk was a golf score card. It could easily point to someone.
Thank you for putting me in the feedback!!
We need all members to join the Clue Crew and get Justice for Sazz!
I agree, like 'Death Rattle Dazzle' --- this film will never be made
It feels like a cheap NCIS-tier trick to have Sazz apparently suffer a lethal wound while alone simply to fool the audience. Unless there's some strong evidence to the contrary, I think it really is her in the furnace. And maybe I can give another hint in addition to 'identical twins': I don't suspect any character has a secret sibling/twin, but still, this crime has something to do with identical twins, just not in the way a detective would initially assume...
I'm torn. I think it's a better mystery if Sazz is dead in the furnace. On the other hand, I think they could pull it off rather smartly
I still think she is a stunt double with a bullet proof vest.
@@kimwaltz6114 Can’t be a very good vest what with all that blood.
they have showed us Sazz being shot and I operate that everything that is shown on screen, is real, true and did actually happen.
Hmm
She is a stunt double, she could have been wearing a bullet proof vest
I do hope that Sazz will be alive. She is a happy-go-lucky character. I love to watch her on the show.
Worried that if Sazz is alive, she'll die... a bit like how the audience thought Ben Glenroy was alive, then he was alive, but he ended up dying anyway

The calendar looks like a golf scoring card and long game is a type of style of golf
Your feedback made me do some research: Wikipedia: 'long game' refers to the category of golf shots that are made from the tee box or otherwise far from the green.
Film Title: THE LONG GAME: In 1955, five young Mexican-American caddies created their own golf course in the middle of the South Texas desert.

it feels like Saz was onto something that has todo with older seasons .... basicly the MORIARTY
Did Sazz throw herself off Reichenbach Falls?
100%
It definitely crossed my mind that Sazz was still alive. But so far I don't have any suspects. I dont think the killer has appeared yet. I dont think its just one person.
Agree, Multiple people would be required to pull this off
What was that inside of Sazz metal bones found in the incinerator???

You can't see the 'G' on the looking at charles note, so maybe it says "look in at charles".
Not sure what that would mean
Great catch! That means the note could've been written by someone else telling Sazz to "look in at Charles" -- which she did in middle of season 3
Dale, I want you as my agent! Hell yeah, development deal!
I think it might be Charles' sister (who we are going to meet) who wants him dead and has someone living in the west building of the Arconia, She might have hired someone to do the job and Sazz might have found out about it somehow. They might have wanted to shoot Charles but killed Sazz instead.
Certainly that could be it - hopefully episode 2 will shed some more light on the subject
Great to have you back for s4!

Yes, Sazz has a brother and is Charles.
I thought the incinerator was out of order
For Hollywood actors faking thier death is not a hard thing when you spend a lot of time with special effects. I don’t think she’s the one doing this but I do believe she’s alive.
Do you believe Sazz is alive for good? Or Evil?
I think the fly on the wall is Jan. She's hiding in Charles apartment
Smart thought. Need Det. Williams to let us know if she was caught or not!
@@DoublePMedia Jan is in the tunnels of the building. They won't find her until the end cuz Jan has a connection to Saz
Joy was treated poorly, for sure.
I think for some reason it was Bev, and that hopefully Sazz is still alive. I think you’re right in that it all has something to do with the life rights that Bev wanted , and it just all seemed so rushed 🤔
Didn't mention in the video... but you are right, it was very RUSHED to jump into the new mystery
@@DoublePMedia YES
Sazz faking her death just for shits and giggles would be both a let down and...completely in character for her.
here is hoping mabel does the pet´s jobs podcast!
Did Sauron not fake his death before Ring of Power stated? All the cool kids are doing it!
@@DoublePMedia Sauron is immortal, he could not fake his death even if he wanted - give my boy Sauron a break, I say!
I hope Sazz is still alive. 😢 I love her character.
No funeral until we see Sazz's body!!!
@@kylastewart4974 trust Gravey, but why no body? Can a furnace installed in an apartment building really act as a crematorium?
who was the person that comes back from season 3?
wouldn't want to type here, email if you want to know
The hollywood people could be red gerrings
Im calling it's Scott first 😂
Do y'all think that maybe Jan is out for revenge. She did try to kill Charles in Season one. I do suspect Bakula
I wonder why they introduced Jan if she doesn't have a bigger part to play?
Here's a thought: What if Sazz is faking her death as a way to promote the movie???
That's a fun idea! Some other commenters are making me question IF Sazz faked her own death, it was to catch a killer.
I have a theory that by the ending of the series Charles would be killed
Dark --- but I like it!
I don't think that OMITB can go with more seasons than 5, so my theory is that: Charles will die and they will investigate his murder hahahaha.
within days of season 4 starting you had no idea Meryl returned? There was red carpet premiere content and she was in the trailer…
sorry, no it wasn't meryl
I think she was shot and there is definitely evidence pointing to her ultimate demise in the basement furnace. Notwithstanding I think she's faking her death. Perhaps I'm just in denial.
Yes, lots of evidence we've said goodbye to Sazz, but we won't say goodbye!
The dog isn’t a good cadaver dog. This is why he’s in a shelter. The replacement bone isn’t Sazz’s. She may have faked her death. Not sure why or any other details
I want to trust Gravey the dog, but I do doubt if Sazz is dead
@@DoublePMediawhat if it’s another body gravey smelt and not sazz.?
@@Tana7cherryboomboom It’s possible.
I think the Brothers sisters are a play on the Wachowski siblings.
Smart! I hadn't thought of that! We're entering the Matrix :)
This episode literally blew my expectations
In a positive way....? The fact that they went the whole episode without knowing about Sazz shocked me
Why did Sazz try to write something with her blood.
Which of the pickwick triplets did it? 🤯
Who of the crew did commit the crime?
The producer was very insulting in how she described all three of them. So clearly she is not their friend 😊
Bev Melon was pelting them with rotting fruit!
Sign says incinerator out of order so how could it be used to burn Sazz's body?
Well they said they got a power surge at the start of the ep and hadn't had one since the old incinerator stopped being used, so you'd assume it works it's just it causes power surges
Personally I think even if she is dead think the bullet was meant for Charles
Someone really hates Brazzos!
If one person did all that, I think their multi-tasking skills should be at the top of their LinkedIn page :)
Good points. Do you think the killer will come from the NYC crew or the L.A. crew?
@@DoublePMedia It’s hard to call! I can see both being satisfying conclusions. I’m hesitant on Bev as that feels too akin to last series for me. My wild theory is Joy and Bakula. She’d have access to Charles’ place and that message to Bakula where he says he can’t show them, could be a cover up, I think the LA lot will end up being a hindrance to the actual investigation.
Jan was a westie, yes, but she lived there when the east and west tower was united. Now in the season 4 it is segregated.
In old westerns the bad guy wears a black hat. Scott Bakula wore a black hat when he met Charles. Just saying😅
Keep saying 😅
So many Christie-like names from the beginning ... Melon could be an anagram for Poirot's secretary Lemon. Fruity!
Brilliant catch! Keep checking those names!
Could Bev melon character be inspired by the real life producer Barbara broccoli?
@@Tana7cherryboomboom Producing Bond, James Bond. I love it!
