Wow what an excellent minimalist interview Seth. A good interviewer knows when to stay silent. Well done. I watch almost all of your interviews just to see how they are conducted. Thanks. BTW has anyone else noted the high quality of Desi Lydic's interviews at TDS?
The fact that adding Selena Gomez to this amazing duo works as well as it does kind of gives me hope for the world and that the older and younger generations can hopefully figure out how to respect each other and work together to make the world a better place.
I could hear Steves voice as I read that ! I immediately went to King Tut and down a list of old favorites like 'the Jerk' OMG ! Thank you for kick starting a wave of wonderful hilarious memories still locked in my head and heart !!
He's literally just reading the cue card questions they prepared for him and then laughing. 😂 I love Seth but literally anyone can do what he just did. He wasn't playing anything 😂
You can nearly hear him say, "And, go!" Blow a whistle and let the chaos loose! At one point, he leaned on his desk with his hands in a prayer position while they riffed, showing his total love and devotion
Marty's dad actually spoke with an Irish accent, so the staginess is a choice. His character is an over the top broadway director/producer. That's how the character would do it. (As for the nurse... That's another story.)
It’s the girl who plays the nurse too. And paul Rudd. It’s the worst thing in the show, I can’t believe they’re keeping it up, they’re better than that…
I know this is what they do when they appear on talk shows together, but sometimes when I see them on a talk show, I desire to get to know them more as people and wish they wouldn't always be so "jokey," particularly Martin Short, who always seems like he has to be "on" all the time. Don't get me wrong; I love them both as comedians. They are both very funny, and I've enjoyed their work over the years. And I understand too that when you're on a comedy-based talk show, you want to entertain and make people laugh. But for me, personally, I always enjoy celebrity interviews where you see more of them as more human and vulnerable. You can still be funny while being real. Anyway, just a personal preference. Still love them a lot, and I love Seth Meyers.
@@BarnaclebeardI did see one interview with him and Kathie Lee Gifford where she asked about his wife not realizing she had passed away. He was very polite to Kathie Lee and didn't give her any indication that she had made a mistake. He seemed much more subdued and natural in that interview, and I quite liked that side of him.
I think out of all the talk shows, Seth and his late night are the most accommodating for storytellers. Sometimes to the detriment of the podcast Seth can't plug too much, he'll let the story guide a conversation for so long that you forget the guest has something to promote or share a family trip. Then Martin Short comes on to setup>punchline>look to camera until the host plugs the show
I pity the fools who don't understand their comedic repartee. Even Groucho would be proud. These two are golden and funnier than any movie, tv or media. All of us wish we had a friendship like they have.

Edit: I just realized that Hulu probably releases the episodes on Tuesday at 12 AM which makes it 9 PM Monday in the Pacific time zone so Seth is just saying what Hulu officially considers the release day to be even if isn't consistent across time zones. Correction: Only Murders in the Building goes up on Hulu at 9PM on Monday not Tuesday.
@@BWWiDOwzZz I was trying to figure out how the show could be on Monday or Tuesday depending on the location as that would be an odd thing to officially do when it occurred to me that Hulu is probably publishing the episodes on Tuesday at 12 AM in the Eastern time time which just happens to be 9 PM Monday in the Pacific time zone. Hulu might be able to detect the user's time zone and make it Tuesday at 12 AM in them all but it probably isn't worth the effort to do so. So Seth was probably saying what Hulu considers the official day the episodes come out even if it's different in other time zones.
True comedians are when you can make another comedian giggle nonstop like a little girl… but it was steve’s concern that Selene didn’t have lines in the clip for me 🥹
Probably most of it. But they're renowned for turning up to the smallest appearance prepared to the hilt. Helps explain why they've remained successful for so long
If they do bring back the show for a 5th season, they REALLY need to bring in Mike Myers to play a part(s). Maybe, Myers can replace the annoying gay pet guy in the building.

Steve Martin got all his aging out of the way in his 20's. Hasn't had to worry about it ever since.
