I'm a little concerned about the Boxabl. It's been years now and they have two factories now. They should be cranking them out and delivering them. Yet not one review anywhere from someone who actually owns one. No backyard grandmas or college kids, no lake house vacay home, no tiny houser. Where are the reviews? It's concerning. If they've been delivering them....we should see reviews or vids talking about them from the people who own them.
Great tiny home/prefab videos, thanks!Thought it would be cool if you did videos on what happens after you sign the contract. Perhaps take us through deep dives on the processes of locating a place that meets local standards, permitting, land excavation, driveways, utilities connections costs and challenges. Finally you could do a video that summarizes all the costs and includes a real life timeline. Just an idea for you, keep up the good work!
That depends on the options you order, where you would set it up and utility connection costs and the final cost can’t be locked in at the time of order. Don’t forget the mortgage interest and your initial deposit.
These are all good concepts but be careful not to lose money on just 3D renderings and hopeful dreaming and imagination. Make sure you can touch and feel and see and smell their products beforehand. Its easy to draw beautiful homes, collect money and disappear without building anything and without suffering consequences for it
Interest rates change, sure. But the selling price shouldn't. I never heard of someone, for example, offer 340k on a condo and it's accepted by the seller, but later the selling says now the price will be 365k.
I saw Bob on a video last night and he mentioned they would be building other factories, one in the state of Washington, in Yakima. With thoughts of servicing part of Canada. I might consider this company, as I like the options for solar. Plus it may end up being an air b&b for me, so the bed option is a cool feature. Could also do some design features to enclose the porch, such as outdoor drapery, and utilize the porch during cooler months as extra entertaining space. So glad to see companies popping up with affordable housing. My city has already approved adu’s for properties with a single family dwelling. So wouldn’t take much in the permitting dept.
Like most prefab and tiny homes, why do they have to put super high quality stuff inside the house, its like they're designing them for hipster douchebags (talking about this company and Minimaliste) Thats why i like BOXABL and INCRED I BOX, keep it simple and AFFORDABLE!!!... 80% of ppl who are looking into buying a tiny house, DON'T have 100k to buy a tiny house!!!
Haha, I actually really agree with this! Although I will say, many prefab home companies are located in or near California, where people actually are looking for really nice, "bougie" ADU's.
Mostly investment property! You buy it to set up an AirBNB or an ADU to rent out to offset the mortgage costs. You want someone to finance the purchase cost.
Another great video, thank you. I hope we eventually get our "Box". I think Zenni might be my plan B. ?? 100% agree that modular is an important part of housing solutions.
Great job. I'm thinking about tearing down my house and getting one of these pre frab homes I was looking at boxable but now you've opened my eyes to other companies. Wyndmoor PA 🇺🇸
I watched an interview with the former Senator and unless I misundertood, the sizes are modelled after conntainers to allow for easy transportation and not built from containers/contauiner halves.
Naaaaw... Boxable is better 100k for Zenni? And they have a disclaimer?? Seems like they will play with there customers when it gets popular... I give them a C-
It's good to know that there is other options, although I want to make sure I'm buying USA because I believe the box house are a middle east manufacturer
The Zennihomes do look great. I love the moving wall for the closet and the rising bed. The design is really well laid out. I don't love the wood color or 'style' of it though. It's very bland and the sofa def. doesn't look comfortable. Overall though, I think it's the best prefab I've seen so far in this category. It would need a pitched roof though for me here in Michigan cuz...snow, Lots of snow. lol We tend to put the solar in the yard here so we can clean it off all winter as you can't clean them on the roof under a foot of snow, lol This one has some great features though for sure.
Ahhhhhh, something wrong. In general, San Diego is about 600 miles from Page, AZ. Multiply 600 x $4 = $2400 for Denizen or 600 x $8 = $4800 for the Citizen. She said in the video that shipping costs to her location in Portland, OR from Page, AZ would be $4644 (Denizen) or $9288 (Citizen).
About $10,000 sounds reasonable to the West Coast. Anyplace else in the country would cost more. The shipping charge overage would shrink if they opened up more factories outside of Arizona.
these tiny homes are nice/ok, I wish and hope they get to the point where you can find a 2 bedroom unit built this same way, most people looking to purchase these specially in CA is to rent them out, youd hardly get your money back OR profit off just a single home ADU or studio rent not to mention itd be much harder to rent out! however a 2 bedroom ADU is something you can easily rent for over $2k a month which is a significan return on your investment and Or if financing it will allow you to pay back that loan much sooner and save so much more on interest over time! I do like the option they have for financing though id have to look at the interest rates, building an old school ADU can cost no less than $150k plus another $12k approximately in plans, city permits etc. Some contractors offer financing but at an insane interest rate%! The only other option is to take out a Home equity loan but those can be very long term, also high interest rates in some cases and of course putting your home up for collateral! not something id like to do.
Ladies and gents, these are the type of people who will take a potential answer to AFFORDABLE HOUSING IN AN OVERPRICED MARKET AND DRIVE UP THE COST HERE!
Thank you for your video. I love the look of Zenni Homes. However, do they have bigger homes? I'd like one with at least three bedrooms. I prefer the look over Boxabl homes. Thanks.
@@irinadeee Thanks for the reply. Just that in other countries the shell may be more in demand than the fully outfitted product. Cost containment. (Almost like what you call a 'fixer upper'). I do my additionals according to my needs.
yes you have done many videos on these new ideas, yet NONE are actually in production and to boot the BOXabl idea was supposed to be housing 50k and less yet even they before production has started) is finding ways to increase starting point
Hi Irena I really enjoy listening to you and tapping into that entrepreneurial spirit. My question for you is do any of these prefab home companies have homes that have higher ceilings I’ve seen some of the shipping container homes that somehow manage to raise that roof so it feels like there’s more space
I don't know what part of the universe you live in but, a contract price is a contract price that only can change because of a force majeure or an act of God. As a builder you may have to credit the buyer for failing to deliver on a promised date, if that penalty is included in your contract. Again the only acceptable excuse would most likely be caused by a force majeure.
So, these are priced at about $190/sq ft not including land and site/utility prep? Sounds like just building an Energy Positive Home of your own design would be the same cost or less using a frost-free foundation (in Northern areas), SIP's and mini-splits. I like the idea, but the total cost with land and site/utility prep in addition does not make it a more affordable option. That is what I have been doing in Wisconsin.
Thanks for covering this. It's hard to find good information about these homes. Never even heard of Zennihome before. I live in Arizona, and I was only following Nestron, Roombus, and Boxabl. If you live in Arizona, its not smart to buy a wood framed house. There are plenty of termites and rodents in Arizona. Also, in such a dry climate, there's the risk of fire. In a rural setting, one may not have a fire hydrant close by, which means high insurance costs, especially if the home is constructed primarily of something that could burn to the ground.
Could they attach 2 or 3 homes or modules together for those that want a larger home. How energy efficient r these homes. I purchased a mobile home and feel one of the biggest draw backs is energy efficiency. Sometimes I think I could have had a larger stick built for same amount of dollars spent. In fact my mother had a brick home a mile from me with twice the square footage and the same electric provider and my bill was almost always higher than her bill. Granted she watched everything pertaining to her electric costs like a hawk and I only worried about watching the thermostat and keeping it at an almost comfortable temperature summer and winter. And I should have seen about better or more insulation but when ur living paycheck to pay check u tend to let somethings slide. My point is anything u buy should have the best efficiency built in to prevent added costs to operation and ownership. In other words do it right the first time instead of buyer beware. That alone will get builders and buyers all the business they can handle from word of mouth. What a good business person wants.
I'm sorry this isn't going to work. You need to buy land, the point of this is to make it cheap for people living in expensive cities. Well a big portion of anyone's cost is the land when it comes to building a home espcially next or near to an expensive city. You have to have all the planning permissions. Then costs of sewage and water.this only works if you stack them and are a develope looking for rent money.
***** -- So expensive houses and the only mini it will be are our wallets - and I am asking all the people that started the main idea of cheap home for the poor to Continue their work for the good of the people ,, it is sad that big companies are jumping on that hope of poor people to have a little house and totally destroying that hope and sending poor people back to be homeless ,,, God help us all ,,, K . You are clueless as Boxabl and companies like Connect Homes, Zenni Homes are two very different companies and price points. I would never live in a Boxabl product it is more of a temporary housing solution and will not hold up in different environments.
This is a horrible video. 95% of the video is the woman’s face and written descriptions. I never can find out how much they cost.

And shipping to Hawaii.
I like only boxebal
If you don't have one you will find out quick it will cost you..still nice though .
