What a great Salute to Greatest Generation..Perfect..You are fantastic , I’m glad to hear you all..love so much your great performance..Thank you to all , beautiful music
I went down a bit of an Andrews Sisters rabbit hole and just listened to about 10 versions of this and you guys have by far the best version. Well done. The addition of new harmony parts sounded great. Didn't sound like a forced change or a group trying to "put their spin on things". It sounded like it was meant to be a part of the original song. Great job on bass, drums, piano and horn. Makes it all so much better.
This former British Para had yet to be disappointed by anything the USAFB does and I loved this-- I think the US ARMY Field Band would do a GREAT job on another swing number from WW2. "Milkman, Keep Those Bottles Quiet" I came here after watching a documentary about D-Day in, which a Black US soldier said he kept himself awake by singing this song.when serving in "The Red Ball Express" a hastily ( but brilliantly) improvised unit who drove their trucks night and day, sometimes under air or artillery attack to sustain the vital logistics chain to the front in the critical post-invasion period. I thought ""Milkman, Keep Those Bottles Quiet" was a crazy, nonsense name for a song, so I HAD to Google it ; - now it makes sense why The Red Ball driver sang it to keep awake at the wheel! . The lyrics are witty, the tune swings (and then some) being done by both the Benny Goodman Band and by Ella Mae Morse ( my favourite, and the USAFB gals would give it loads of pzazz. Both the exhausted Red Ball Express drivers, mechanics, MPs and clerks who made it work, and the factory workers back in The States who worked hard to supply not just the US Army, but the Allied forces in Normandy are part of US history, and IMHO, The USAFB are the guys and gals to pay a unique, talented, and undoubtedly enjoyable tribute to their efforts. Here's the lyrics: " Milkman keep those bottles quiet Can't use that jive on my milk diet So milkman keep those bottles quiet Been jumpin' on the swing shift, all night Turnin' out my quota, all right Now I'm beat right down to the sod Gotta catch myself some righteous nod Milkman stop that grade A riot Cut out if you can't lullaby it Oh, milkman, Keep Those Bottles Quiet Been knocking out a fast tank, all day Working on a bomber, okay Boy you blast my wig with those clinks And I got to catch my forty winks So milkman, Keep Those Bottles Quiet Now noise of the riveter rocks, don't mind it Cause the man with the whiskers has a lot behind it But I can't keep punchin' with the victory crew, When you're making me punchy with that bottled moo I want to give my all if I'm gonna give it… Odds are, neither the driver or Ella Mae Morse are still with us, but I hope they are, and have enjoyed a good life, With plenty of long lie-ins. Good moral booster of a song, witty lyrics too,"
Understand, I like this, but I LOVE The Andrews Sisters version of this. My OPINION is that if the ladies weren't wearing fatigues it would make a much better impression. Also, I really think Maxine Andrews had a lot more 'FUN' with the song than these three ladies did, her toying with the bugler, her growls emulating a sax. Nothing wrong with the homage, but I think the Andrew Sisters just did it better. However, Army Strong from this Air Force puke.
This soldiers are out of this world, The women are fabulous and the trumpet player is fantastic and the band is just WOW. Go Army !
How appropriate: "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" being performed by US Army band members. Absolutely perfect!!
That walking bass line was smooth 👌

Here's the lyrics:
" Milkman keep those bottles quiet
Can't use that jive on my milk diet
So milkman keep those bottles quiet
Been jumpin' on the swing shift, all night
Turnin' out my quota, all right
Now I'm beat right down to the sod
Gotta catch myself some righteous nod
Milkman stop that grade A riot
Cut out if you can't lullaby it
Oh, milkman, Keep Those Bottles Quiet
Been knocking out a fast tank, all day
Working on a bomber, okay
Boy you blast my wig with those clinks
And I got to catch my forty winks
So milkman, Keep Those Bottles Quiet
Now noise of the riveter rocks, don't mind it
Cause the man with the whiskers has a lot behind it
But I can't keep punchin' with the victory crew,
When you're making me punchy with that bottled moo
I want to give my all if I'm gonna give it…
Odds are, neither the driver or Ella Mae Morse are still with us, but I hope they are, and have enjoyed a good life,
With plenty of long lie-ins.

Thanks! I bet we will be in the new pinks and greens the next time we perform this!
Damn.... just.... wow...
Sorry, but this is even better than the Andrews Sisters. Wonderful stuff. 🎉
Let’s hear it for the trumpet
Success! Excellent
I had always thought this was the Army Hymn, boy was I wrong haha.
Song from Mafia 2 soundtrack ❤️
Great performance!
Thank you!
Proof the Military ain't only good at guns :)
Mad respect for all the bros ((gender neutral))
Hooah
Wäre ist the Gala Uniform for the Fingers?
There is no way ACUs are appropriate for this presentation. They should be in class Bs. Great job!
In house? Sounds professional
Danged fine!
BTW...why are your uniform flags backwards...?
The military does that on purpose to mimick a flag going against the wind.
👍
Not quite up to The Andrews Sisters themselves, but an enjoyable homage.
Ahh yes natural not pushed

Since I fell for you is my karaoke warmup. Is it still spooky for me to show up? This rub needs a tub
Better if they wore 1940's styles
I feel like they seem stiff to me.
Les premières lignes Russkofs en Ukraine seraient contents de voir débarquer ces GI s womens...
