I just spent the last 20 minutes trying to remember the name of this song. All I got was war. Thank you RUclips search history.... 2nd thing to come up. So it's not so bad.
Such a great video I think about often. So much story in a few short minutes, a world of viking rock battles, heroics long forgotten or hidden in shame. I want to know more about these characters, their history, and this universe they occupy. Bra freakin' Vo.
My brother gave me a flash drive, full of animated videos like this, many a year ago with this video on it, and throughout the years I keep returning to this particular one. I'm glad was able to find it here. I love this video, and the music. I think he originally found it on NewGrounds
I love this so much, still. First time I saw it was on the big screen at some film festival in Los Angeles. It actually makes me get teary-eyed for some bizarre reason. Something to do with Vikings and marching band, I guess. LOL!
I literally thought I was the only person to have that happen to them! I think it's something about how accepting your own quirkiness makes you strong.
Little late, but as a big fan of this video I made a 4K upscaled version of it (along with some deblocking and sharpening to fix some of the compression issues in the original video). ruclips.net/video/XnYTuDyDnqs/видео.html
Songs - the music is derived from a mash-up of two 'Blood, Sweat and Tears' songs. A fellow animation instructor oversaw his student's project at VFS. In lesser hands, the sound editing/picture sync could've been a disaster. Masterful dialogue-less story of a travel-weary jazz band obliterating the proto-Kiss band on the open seas.
@@SpaceBotany Blood Sweat & Tears yes, but most of the sampling is coming from Go Down Gamblin' rather than Spinning Wheel. if you want to hear it deconstructed. Another great BS&T song, and epically used here so very very long ago.
It's been 11 years and I still get chills when the marching band comes out...
It's been almost 20 years and this song still gets stuck in my head once a week. One of the best remixes ever & one of my favorite videos of all time
This is so severely underrated. Come on RUclips Algorithm Gods, do your thing...

This is probably the best video on the internet.
Utterly epic; crucially underappreciated.
The Evolution Control Committee hecka yeah
This guy has completely disappeared. I don’t get it
@@aumurphy Joel Trussel? Apparently he now works as an executive producer for Netflix, hope he's doing well.
@@sol5038 I meant the musician Jason Forrest
@@sol5038 seriously? I might give netflix a chance then..!
This is so good.
I'm sad more people don't know about it.
I'd pay fine money for an epic live-action movie version of this.

PURE. DAMN. MAGIC.
Finally, a good quality upload of this video! Thank you, Joel, it's been one of my favourites for years and always makes me smile. I love it!
I'm genuinely shocked this hasn't gotten more traction
It's like Genndy Tartakovsky directed a music video

Why oh why is this not on Spotify?!
Music rights. It's entirely sampled from songs by Blood, Sweat & Tears.
I heard this song in the trailer for Zoink!'s Zombie Vikings. Such a great track -- and great animation!
Awesomest.
The new Pacific Rim is looking great.
Goood.....that felt way too good!
Also I think this is how Ragnarock would look like!
Still watching this 10 years after I first saw it
This needs a 720/1080p version !

I recently heard the original song where the samples were taken, still it's one of the best song and clip in my life!! ❤️

76k views by now. Still too little.
Horns sound like they came from a Chicago song
They come from Spinning Wheel by Blood, Sweat, and Tears.
