@aperpetualmess I'm a grandma, teaching my granddaughters (7-15yrs) to crochet. I like to find videos from younger people to get newer ideas. Your generation have come up with such new and creative ideas. I think my granddaughters will love making this. Giving you a follow to see what else you creatively come up with. Keep the creativity growing! Thank you!
this is such a sweet comment thank you so much ! it makes my day, i hope your granddaughters love their creations, you're such a sweet grandma for passing the skills down, it's invaluable
then for sleeves, first you make 2 panels of torso part, and sew the sides together for sleeves, it's 1/2 the amount of how many chains you did in the last torso row sections. slip stitch to finish each row still. Do as many rows as you want for sleeve length. sew in ends The sewing the edges of torso panels is kinda confusing so better to watch vid
aw lord... im plus sized, its gonna be a LOT of chains 😂 ill update this comment on how many skeins it took, my size, etc when im done, in case there's any other plus sized girlies that wanna make this and are curious (amazing pattern btw!!!!) update: ok so im about a size 2x, and it took 2 skeins. it ended up being 50-something stitches in each of the last chains so i recommend getting a stitch counter if ur plus size and wanna do this lol
Also plus sized, being 2x to 3x depending style/brand. I've been using a worsted weight yarn (Red Heart or Caron) with a 10/J 6.00 mm hook and so far I've noticed I'll need about one to two skeins per panel. It'll also likely be about 45 to 55 chains to get the size I need plus making it drape properly from what I've gotten done so far. Update: I overestimated the number of roounds/chains. I actually got 17 rounds/33 chais for each panel using a 6.00 mm hook. And it took about 3 to 4 skeins overall, though I am not sure the yards as this was unlabel stash yarn. It's also surprisingly warm.
I saw this top floating around on Instagram and I was in love! While I am gettig pretty good at crocheting, I'd much rather have a tutorial than just a pattern to talk me through the process. Your voice is so nice and kind and you explain everything very clearly. Thank you for sharing this wonderful top with us!!!!
I just started to learn how to crochet last Monday and this is the first thing I decided to make! So far it’s not very hard and I’m so excited to see how it goes! 💕
My daughter would wear this all the time but I’m definitely going to make it in time for Halloween. I think with sparkly yarn it would look really good!
Я из России и я впервые решила попробовать сделать такую кофту мне очень понравились и я думала что будет не понятно потому что это не мой язык но это очень понятно я в восторге ❤😊
I’m halfway done with my first sleeve and I absolutely love the pattern. I commented earlier when I didn’t have my yarn but I am so happy with the way this is developing. It’s definitely going to be implemented in my Halloween outfit.
Lol just finished this at 11pm it's now 0:15 and it's halloween today... I though i would not bé able to finish because i still had a sleave to finish but i managed ! And i'm so happy thank you so much for the amazing tutorial ❤❤❤
super cute pattern, I'm using it to make a spider web decoration for my room (possibly to serve as a little hammock for plushies) and it looks amazing.
Good question! Apparently she is NOT counting those first ch 2 stitches as a dc plus ch 1. There really aren't enough chains to do that anyway. I'm used to instructions that call for an initial ch 4 to count as the first dc plus ch 1. After the last ch 1 in the round, you just slip stitch into the third chain of the initial 4 chains. Less confusing that way, I think.
My spiderweb is wide enough to fit me nicely in the hips with 35 chains, but the top end doesn't really reach my shoulder. Can I extend just the shoulder part somehow to start forming the sleeve a bit lower/later? Anyone with a similar problem?
I have made a commission of this top before with bell sleeves, it's not too difficult - you can do the sleeves normally until your elbows (or wherever you want to start the "bell" part of them) and then do a couple increases in each round depending on how dramatic you want the sleeve to look !
I find with some other tutorials it’s confusing to increase to make it bigger for us bigger people but with this one it’s super simple to increase to your sizing! I absolutely love this tutorial and my friend is going to love this too for Christmas 😊
i don't know if i just missed it but how would i go about closing the individual torso panels? i just started crotchetinglast week and i' still learning basics, but i' haven't learned how to close yet!

Thank you soooomuch for the tutorial!!!!! I just finished mine. I di some changes though i only used double stitch on the 4 first rounds then switched to trible stitch for the 4 rounds after and did quadruple stich for the rounds i had left
I’m sorry for asking, but could you help me with one question, I’m a beginner and I’m a little bit confused. At the very beginning we’re supposed to do chain + 12 dc or chain + 11 dc, cause I ended up having one extra hole between dc. Or we shouldn’t count space between chain and first dc ?😭

Question! I have some chunky yarn I'm trying to use up from my stash. It's the furry kind that can't split (made of one strand of yarn that's fluffy), and it fits about a 6.5-8 millimeter hook. I was wondering if I could still use that yarn and just crochet less rows or something, or if I have to get smaller yarn for the project to work out. Thanks!
im currently making this in black! :D I have no idea how long its going to take but it took me right about 2 days to crochet the first panel (I had my cousins over so I didn't get to crochet much). Im so excited to see the finished product!
You start with two single crochets and then you have the 1, 3, 5, etc… she explains it in a really confusing way but if you slow it down and count each chain when she starts a new row you see her chain two and then add two to the number of chains you did before. I struggled the same and had to restart like three times cause I kept messing up

row 6: 11 chains
row 7: 13 chains
row 8: 15 chains

row 10: 19 chains
row 11: 21 chains
row 12: 23 chains
row 13: 25 chains
row 14: 27 chains
row 15: 29 chains
row 16: 31 chains
You start with two single crochets and then you have the 1, 3, 5, etc… she explains it in a really confusing way but if you slow it down and count each chain when she starts a new row you see her chain two and then add two to the number of chains you did before.
