Awesome episode! I got a thought on the new player having a bad time. You'll always hear 'run more removal'. Me? Have sneaky ways to protect your commander if they're important; or protect your board if the commander is not critical. You don't need a lot of that sneaky stuff; just sit on it. Wait. Maybe have a mana outlet for when you have to hold mana up so you're not behind (clues, food, whatever). But there are ways. Blessing of Leeches and Gift of Doom both serve me great in black. Being a little sneaky is satisfying when someone thinks they got you. And it's memorable.

If I had to list my top 5 cards, I think I would go with: Sticky fingers (5), Pain distributor (4), River Song's diary (3), Varchild, Betrayer of Kjeldor (my favorite commander)(2), Sword of hearth and home (1). For me, art does a lot to attract my attention. For exemple, I just fell in love with a foil "Frostwalla" card, so I'm like "Ok, what kind of deck can I build to slot the card in in order for me to see the card more?"
Mike! I love this gut! He helped couple years ago at this point help me get the courage to leave my old LGS with the toxic owner. My new lgs has been amazing thanks for the encouragement Mike!
