    This is such an interesting video. I have avoided AI completely because of concerns of ethics, but I think using it as a starting point for research questions could be so interesting.

    This is Great. I have been using it for my master's work to help me study. So for example, I use it as more of a tutor or study buddy, so I may ask it if I am understanding something correctly, or to put together a study guide that I can then fill in with my study. I also use it to take lectures and make it more of a text format by removing, um's, repeated words, and strangely worded phrases. As far as readings, I may ask them to outline the topics of the book. It's helped me also summarize more heady text so that I can understand and then reference it to the reading. I will also use Notions AI to define words that may be important.

    Also, this is a great video. Informative and yet a reminder to approach AI with awareness. Thank you for making this!

    This video is excellent. I work within HE in the UK and over the past few weeks, there has been a number of webinars and conferences on using AI in HE. Staff are quite nervous about the technology replacing their jobs and plagiarism among students. I have shared this video with my colleagues. thank you 🤓

    I passed this excellent video on the use of AI in college to a friend who is an English professor. You have given clear pros and cons on the issue which are very helpful. I particularly like the positive uses for AI that you stated.

    This is such a fascinating video! Just wanted to share that ChatGPT has been really good for developing bibliographies and footnotes in my papers. It has definitely made my time a lot more efficient in that regard.

    Very helpful video! I'm preparing to teach in the next academic year, so this is helping me think through how I broach this topic with my students.

    Hi kaelyn :) I really like your videos, they inspire me a lot.❤❤ I am a high school student and I am studying for college exams in Turkey, I have goals to go abroad because I want to study more academically, but I have a lot of obstacles :( and despite everything, it is very hard to keep my motivation high ( but i hope that i can do )
    How can you stay motivated when you havent got that energy

      I wouldn’t say that it’s necessarily about motivation as much as it is discipline and wanting to achieve my goals. That being said I have many advantages which are important to acknowledge - such as being neurotypical (as far as I’m aware), (mostly) able bodied, financially independent & relatively stable, etc. I also credit momentum. I have been seeking to become a professional researcher for six+ years now and that is after pivoting from a high stress professional athletics career. Self discipline was grilled into me at an early age but what keeps me going now is the joy of the work, the desire to serve others, and to continuously improve myself and my skill set

    I'm somewhat skeptical of AI because of exactly what you pointed out about plagiarism. Still, I'm worried about younger students using it in their writing and hindering them from being able to fully flesh out their own ideas. I also don't fully trust AI because I'm also concerned about having a huge reliance on it to the point where if technology where to go down, students wouldn't know how to write their own essays and even catch errors.

    • @KaelynGraceApple
      @KaelynGraceApple  Год назад +1

      I am also skeptical, though new proof-reading softwares (similar to turnitin) are being developed for the detection of AI usage which I think will help educators. I, however, can't imagine students not using it now that so many are being offered. I just hoped to make a video which articulated some usage cases which would help, not hinder, one's workflow, personal writing style, etc.

    In my experience using ai for essays is perfect just to give it a start especially for people like me who's genes are not to inclined into writing. After that it's a takeoff with out it.
