I played this game over nd over again...because I thought the ending meant I lost and that I had to do something different. There were some dark creative geniuses back then. I do miss when the gaming industry was the wild west and people brought all sorts of weird and amazing games to market.
When I was a kid, I never understood that that was the actual ending. "Wait, I just got 'Grogged'? Like when you die at any of a dozen points in the game? There has to be a way past this! What am I doing wrong?!"
I used to play it when I was a child. I used to make some basic programming too. And everything (including OS) was fitting in 64kbytes of RAM... Now I need 1GB to boot up my phone. Evolution of programming went totally wrong.
@@alessandrobozzi7085 Kinda late reply but yeah i noticed his icon on the minimap falling down and out of curiosity went to that spot and got yelled aka game over xD
I was hoping somehow the other mountains had diffferent endings from Mountain 1. I could dream, couldn't I? Funny this "meaning of life"....And I thought it was 42! I'm surprised that here the Grog never jumped down or jumped up the way I remember. And the green blob now really reminds me of Krang, in an odd way. What other games are there with "endings" that seem to screw you over? Flood for the Amiga. R-Type Final for the PS2 (in so much as ending A has you die, ending B you are a monster). Any others?
grogs revenge is a classic on the c64... love how the way the guy loses his wheel off the cliff then he makes a frown face then falls down... lol... oh man... :) c64 just times it right on the character ... colecovision is alittle off by a few seconds... not as funny as the c64... i hated grog so much... the sound effect still scares me to this day as grog is getting closer to u!! u had to hurry away from him to go to the other end of the screen or go in the tunnel quick! hehe..

You think developers those days gave a fuck if the game is balls hard? NO! And we enjoyed the fuck out of it! And as far as i know game piracy didn't exist. I remember buying games and i got as a normal post on a casette and it was full of 1 game both side so copied on it for 4 times / side.

Grog's Revenge was terrifying... like maybe one of the first unintentional survival horror games.

This game was my crack addiction as a kid.
00:0 to 3:00 - BC's quest for tyres.
3:00 onwards - BC II : Grogs Revenge
Never understood the ending when I was a kid - thought I lost when GROG appeared - but now I know!
I still dont get it. Did this caveman just got stoned and went high?
I always thought that these are two games - they were at least on our C64.
Both very difficult, especially the Mountain level(s).
totally forgot about this. i loved this game!!

Because parasitics elements took over to squeeze every penny out of people and make then dependent on their wares.
I remember this game. The part where the caveman gets caught with that creepy music was too funny
Grog! How can you uphill with no locomotion?!
Grog!
You are breaking physics!
Excellent channel. Subscribed.
Great job!
This certainly brings back memories (both part 1 and 2)
damn, the ending is just as cheap as how i used to lose on my c64
My first rage quit, ahhh memories.
The meaning of life....GROG! I still dont get it.
What is it like a jewish blob and grog kills it?
No, it's a metaphor for being stoned on pot
Indeed!! And my first punishment for insinuating cursing..." WHAT THE...!?!" .... "what the what, son?..huh? You want to finish that sentence???"
Best games ever! Commodore 64 and those huge floppy disks
All these years, I never knew Sierra made this.
omfg I havent thought of this game in 35 years at least.
In case anyone's confused, the first few minutes of this video is a different game.
And what a weird bastard of an ending this fine game has. Game designers had a strange sense of humour back in the days.
I Used to play this game back in the 80's on the commodore 64. Funny sound effects, especially when he ducks under the tree branches.
Have you ever experienced Grog falling down from upper ledge? happened to me once when i was playing this long ago.
StormTiberius
Grog could do that?!?
Say what?! Talk about an unfair ending.

Tja ich erinnere mich..
Danke für den Rückblick in die Kinderstube! :)
Brings back memories as a kid
This is NOT Grog's Revenge. This is the first one, BC's Quest for Tires.
7:25 Seems rather a shame you can't find him somehow.
Ich hab's geliebt als Kind. :)
Those walking crabs in the caves were worth more iirc.
is it a wheel hes standing on reminds me of wonderboy 1
7:19 GROG!!!
15:06 GROG!!!

second level while on the mountains were tricky for me
Mówiliśmy na tego zielonego stwora "Jarzębin".
they invent the hoverboard
more like segway but that was just another vehicle from when invent the wheel
this music is fucked and totally awesome..
GROG!!!!!!
Weird game but brilliant!
Graphics: 7/10
Gameplay: 7.5/10
Music/FX: 5.5/10
Playbility: 8/10
no happy ending for this game :-(

GROG!!!
Cannot escape death!
This game is soooo stoned. 😁
Well he did evolve a electric flashlight so...
me too.. Mr Doo's Castle also
He made it look easy, I must have been really crap at this!
Moon patrol
Wow it is almost the Same game as big nose freaks out on nes
Grogs rockz ;)
Nem lett volna egyszerűbb gyalog? ;)
This is the proof that evolution is a myth. In the first game he is able to jump, yet in the second, not. BC Quest for tire was a better game.
Lol! Dig Dug was my meth too!
Such a goofy & stupid game. Yet so genius at the same time...
I don't remember those goo monsters in My MSX2 version.
THey were smaller and acted differently.

Fajne to jest?
Wie ich dieses Spiel gehasst habe............. :D

ThanksIfYourReadIt pretty much all of my c64 games were cracked (pirated) versions
Colecovision version is superior
Gronhk´s Revenge lol
