- Retro-bit have sent me my copies of Gley Lancer on the Sega Genesis & Mega Drive and Battletoads Double Dragon for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. These are re-releases with Gley Lancer getting its official release in Europe. These are amazing collectors’ editions for fans of the games and these consoles.

Finally. Can't wait to get my Gleylancer. Feels like forever ago since I pre-ordered it.
And you're not the only one who keeps the cellophane label. ;)
Also worth noting that Gleylancer never actually saw release outside of Japan during the 16-bit era. The cart was always a Japan exclusive.
Interesting, I didn't know why I thought it got a Genesis review.
It's massive spaceships for me when it comes to the cover art. And that green cart looks absolutely bloody amazing. Really glad to see there's some quality stuff being made for the collectors.
They have done a great job with them. Such high quality collector editions.
Really enjoying the effort going into collector's editions these days, especially when it comes to retro games and re-releases. The love and quality is 100% there. The sheen to the images is a nice touch, but I'm really enjoying the colored carts; how fantastic is that as a showpiece!
It's so cool Tom, I especially love that in Europe we finally get to have official releases of the game.
These official re-releases are great in my opinion, particularly for games that never made it to our region back in the day.

I still wish we would get a release of Tales of Destiny 2, the actual 2.
Oh shit that sonic lamp in the background on the outro is absolute fire, I normally dont bother with statues, but I do like that alot.

I absolutely love Gleylancer. I beat the game a bunch of years ago when I managed to get the Japanese MD version for the collection. It's not crazy hard, but it is long for a shooter.
I'm pretty sure Gleylance never left Japan back in the day. There is was no Genesis version either. So it's extra nice that we're all getting treated to a seriously great 16-bit shooter.

It's really well made
Got my copy of Gleylancer in and it's just epic, from the way the whole packaging is, to the game itself. Sure it's no thunder force 3, but I would say its very close.
I love it, and this collectors packaging is amazing.

I played Gleylancer and it was awesome! One of the finest Genesis Anime games.

I actually pre-ordered Gleylancer because of one of your videos last November ( I think it was) Still waiting on my copy, however, but I know it'll be worth it.
They've only just finished it, so you won't have long to wait.

This may sounds crazy and all but I'm not interested about SNES Games or even new SNES Games, I'm focusing about SEGA Genesis stuff and even new Genesis games coming out too.

Oh wow, I wish I could still get the Gleylancer rerelease, do you know if it’s still possible to get a copy? Coz I would love to get this amazing game. I think I prefer the Japanese artwork of the game although the Genesis artwork is cool as well. Also Battletoads and Double Dragon on the SNES is really impressive and I admit it’s the superior version as a Sega fan.
Unfortunately you won't be able to get it unless someone is selling their copy.

I promise you they are😅 I literally work with the company who owns the rights to the game. They are licencing out all their old games.
Están muy bonitas esas,reediciones..pero sabias que ninguna reedicion tiene licencia? Ni por la compañía limited run, kiksarter,etc....
Actually these do. I work in the games industry and I know these guys. They have a deal with the IP owner to re-release these games. Retro-Bit also have an official Sega licence for peripherals.

You can't unfortunately, the pre-order finished a few months ago.
Can these items still be purchased?
Unfortunately not from the official site. They only sell them during the pre-order period. But they do come up on eBay sometimes.

Did retrobit give the NES and Genesis versions of Battletoads and Double Dragon? I agree the SNES one was superior, but still, curious YOU don’t have the Sega one (if it exist)
I already own the Mega Drive version. I remember Retro-Bit releasing a NES Battletoads.
