      No! I own the originals already and why would I pay $100 to be a collectard? lol

      I've preordered both megaman x and 2
      I collect mostly for display and so I'll happily leave mine sealed as they're actually cheaper than getting complete in box originals off eBay and there will only be 8500 of them while the originals sold over 3 million copies. That would make these officially licensed by capcom repros rarer than the originals. And yet I'm not buying them I'm the hope that their value will soar in 5 years time. No I want them because the look dope and would look slightly nicer than the originals while costing less.
      For all the people reading this who have a vastly different view and want to hurl abuse at me in the hopes it will make me rethink my values. Allow me to remind you that sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me.

    A few listings for brand new Mega Man X on SNES ended for $200, so $100 isn't too bad.

    • @StuffWePlay
      @StuffWePlay  5 лет назад

      While this is true and all, most used copies will run quite a bit under that, not to mention the many virtual console and compilation releases

  • @TheGoldenBolt

    $100 is way too much in my opinion, especially since allegedly the interiors are flash boards. It's not even the true, original hardware on each cart! I get why, cutting costs is fine, but if they're cheaping out on it, I don't see why we should pay a premium.

    • @StuffWePlay
      @StuffWePlay  6 лет назад

      Exactly! And Capcom are always keen on cheaping out. Just look at the MM2 plug and play!

    So you can select all the games at the start...

    I consider it a commemorative thing. It's not meant to be a practical game to buy and use on a daily. It's really meant for hardcore collectors (like me), so I opted into both games. I admit, 100 is expensive, but it's not meant to appeal to just everyone.

    • @StuffWePlay
      @StuffWePlay  6 лет назад

      That's a good point, though I'd consider myself hardcore as well and I didn't find it worth it. I guess it depends on the collector, though :)

    I ordered X mostly because being limited it will be the rarest game I own, plus opening a brand new SNES game will feel amazing, having a manual, artwork and more it just will be nice. They are pricey and its Cashcom so what do you expect but I doubt a fully sealed copy of either of these games are much cheaper

    • @StuffWePlay
      @StuffWePlay  6 лет назад +1

      That's fair! Nothing quite like that new game smell haha. And they do look fantastic, if pricey. They've definitely gone up in price for the OG carts, but for a limited item I was expecting about $50-$75, not $100. Looks beautiful though, and I hope you do an unboxing when you get it!

    They should have a cart with Mega Man X1+2+3 on 1 cart and Mega Man 1,2,3,4,5,6 for the NES than it was worth 100 buck a cart and would sell HOT CAKE! I have now a Chinese reproduction with Mega man 1,2,3,4,5,6 on 1 cart (all REgion versions) very ncie cart and did cost only 15 dollars!

    It's definitely cool but the price is way too steep, especially if you have these games in cartridge already or in some other form. Would I want one? Sure but it's not a need. Nice update!

    My question is what will these be worth if left in the boxes for 20 years?

    • @StuffWePlay
      @StuffWePlay  6 лет назад

      A question for TRUE collectors!

  • @GauBan2501
    @GauBan2501 6 лет назад +1

    I've ordered both. Even though I have the original carts, both GC collection discs as well as the recent og collections on 3DS for 1 and PS4 for 2 (physically). My reasoning is that these will make nice collection items and will go well with my glow in the dark copy of SF2 from last year (a game I have on more platforms than I can care to count).
    But that is me, I turned the dark corner into becoming a collector a couple of years ago when I realised I was buying more games than I have time to play.
    But I who have to say that I don't recommend these for others. If you want to play the game pick up original carts or any of the compilation packs which will give you more bang for your buck. One thing to point out is that like with the SF2 carts these are meant to have "retro pack in suprises". Which in truth turned out to be a flyer where you could get a "free" bum bag, after paying postage. So don' t think you will be getting some nice pin badges or some other mazing extras.

    It's too much money for the cheapest games i've ever played. I still don't get why people like it, the only one i might like other than megaman zero, legends and network transmission is megaman 11. Tron bone technically doesn't count as megaman so i'm not including that in the ones i like.

    • @StuffWePlay

      May be better off to just wait for MM11!

  • @finaltheorygames1781
    @finaltheorygames1781 5 лет назад

    Hey, I have an idea. Let's make a game and sell it and make profits, but not only that, but let's re-release it many times after the original release an order to make even more money and profits. More profits equals more money for the same old game. These are NOT new games folks. Nothing is new .

    It's neat and the pack-in goodies are cool but $100? No thanks. I'll stick with my flash carts. For the same price as these repros I can get a flash cart that plays everything. If they didn't cheap out on the carts and the price was a little better, I could maybe see it being worth it.

    • @StuffWePlay
      @StuffWePlay  6 лет назад +1

      I was initially thinking they would be like $50 when I first saw them! Haha

      $50 and even $60 would have been much easier to swallow.

    I bought it then canceled due to I already owning these games orginally for nes and snes and mm2 for the ps4. I'll be getting x collection when it comes to the switch but japanese due to the fact you'll have both physical copies of X collection 1 and 2. I dont mind japanese text in a Mega Man for me its all gameplay. For me on the capcom re release it is the price, way too exspensive. Carts look great boxes look great but not that price, that is not great. Great video.
