- Cancer prevention is a major goal in health research, and one major milestone was the HPV vaccine, which targets a virus that is responsible for different types of cancer, mainly cervical cancer. Now we’ve got some recent excitement in the news about a possible breast cancer vaccine. How does this vaccine work, how successful is it, and when might it be available?

That's genuinely exciting news. Here's hoping phase 2 and phase 3 trials go well.
Do you honestly still trust vaccines after the covid farce?
What fantastic promise, nice to get good news for once.
I remember one of the scientists in my lab talking about this in 2010. Then he lost his grant funding. He was talking about Her2. Jiing-Dwan Lee from Taiwan. He was a great guy. His Post-doc, Dr. Hayashi, had to move to Texas to a drug company. Really stupid that he lost his grant.
Oh my goodness that would be such great news!
Cancer and heart disease vaccines ‘ready by end of the decade’
Studies into these vaccinations are also showing “tremendous promise”, with some researchers saying 15 years’ worth of progress has been “unspooled” in 12 to 18 months thanks to the success of the Covid jab. By Linda Geddes 8 Apr 2023 [The Guardian] 4:00
I like that their strategy involves an immune response against the intracellular domain of HER2 - there are enzymatically cleaved HER2 proteins (such as p95HER2) lacking parts of their extracellular domain which remain capable of downstream signaling.
Dang, I have her2- breast cancer. Still very cool and hopefully will lead the way for more treatments and prevention.
Hope the best for you, And hopefully this research and others works to your advantage. 😔
Mam recent (one month back) digones brest cancer
Identify tnbc ...
She left 2 cheemos another 2 cheemos
After that surgery
Anthor cheemos 4
Mam is it cure tnbc or recovery life.
She is 36 old.
I’ll go for it!
does anyone know where to look for the phase 2 trial ? I couldn't find anything on internet
great stuff, i wonder if it could be used in future as proactive vaccine, for women carrying the BRCA mutations, instead of reactive to metastasized spread.
That seems to be the intent. As I understand it they just needed the sample population they had for the phase 1 safety and proof of concept type testing.
@@LabGecko That makes sense, but would mean (if understand trials risk considerations), that a we are a very very long way from this goal, unless another phase I trial is approved for young healthy persons, no?
In other words, would phase I on metastasized (i.e. advanced disease, without too many/any remedies left i'd guess) cancer patients, do anything for advancing approval for use in healthy young patients? if you/others know.
I really hope it happens sooner than later, would have such a major impact, and for so many ppl.
@@MI-wc6nk he did say phase 2 trials are already underway, but I don't know details. I hope it moves along steadily as well - maybe FDA fast tracking it would be useful - but we'll need to wait a while to find out. I have a wife and two daughters that I hope this could help soon.
@@LabGecko ya, i know it from close family as well to unfortunate conclusion. wishing your family only health and wellness.
“We need to change the narrative. Health is not a cost. It is an investment. Investing in health is the most important thing a city or a country can do for the future of its population.” Dr Salomón Chertorivski, Secretary of Economic Development for Mexico City, and former Minister of Health for Mexico [World Cancer Day]
Definitely key to not get hopes up on this. A LOT of drugs and therapies that survive Phase 1 are weeded out in Phase 2 or 3. It's one of the reasons drug R&D is so expensive - and drug prices so expensive as well since there's a ton of sunk cost drug companies try to recuperate.
Drug companies usually get government funding.
@@shawnaford5540 Which doesn't even come close to offsetting all the cost involved with bringing a drug to market.
@@brandishwar Depends on the drug -- some have been funded fully or almost fully by the government. But in most cases I would certainly hope it *didn't* come close to offsetting the full cost, given how much money companies make from successful drugs. At least not if the company will get the patent instead of the government (taxpayers).
Pharmaceutical companies have a very successful and profitable business model. They could charge half the price for their drugs and that would still be very true.
Only a tiny percentage of their money goes into r and d, even renting office space for marketing executives has a bigger part of their budget, look it up! It's saddening.
Vaksin?? Pastinya Setuju.. Saya sudah lakukan pada cancer kaki saya.. Suntikan ramuan herbal yang mengandung virus.. Sepertinya hampir sembuh... Hope my son will research it in Aussie. ❤
Never thought I would see the day when vaccines would be used to treat/prevent cancer. I hope research is also being done on a vaccine to help the Tasmanian devil
Sure.. I had done by my self feet cancer..virus treatment for cancer yeah.... Probably my son will research. Within ten years in Aussie❤Christ Lover❤
I still believe immunotherapy drugs should be given at diagnosis!
I will be 1st in line if a breast cancer vaccine is approved. I've known too many women who've suffered due to this scurge.
Great to hear but when is ANYONE going to work on lobular cell carcinoma that evades our imaging and is more likely to have spread by the time it's found
The global cancer therapy market was valued at approximately USD 158 billion in 2020, and it is expected to witness a revenue of USD 268 billion in 2026, with a CAGR of 9.15% over the forecast period. 4:18 [Mordor Intelligence]
This is excellent news. I'm amazed that a vaccine against a normal protein in the body doesn't cause other adverse effects.
The analysis estimates that, without further investment in research and prevention, cancer will cost the global economy an accumulated Int$25.2 trillion in health-care costs, lost labour and spent savings over the next 30 years. 1:51 [Nature]
Vaccines and cure does not being in the same sentence according to Dr. Sydney White.
HPV still has the mRNA in it, which is what they want in every human throughout Western Civ.
Over the next 30 years, the total cost of cancer worldwide could reach 25.2 trillion international dollars, according to a new study published in JAMA Oncology.
Although 75% of cancer deaths occur in low- and middle-income countries, over half of the total costs will occur in high-income countries. The United States and China will bear the highest economic burden, partially due to the country's large populations, but also high U.S. healthcare costs. 4:04 [Advisory Board]
Why is nobody talking about how heavily involved the US military industrial complex is with the vaccine development and implementation?
