Thank you for sharing more of your experience and tips! I’ve only been to Tokyo and Osaka, but Kyoto is definitely a must go to clear off my to do list for a future trip to Japan.
We will be traveling to Japan from India in Early June'24 , Starting our trip from Osaka. We are two Couples Aged around 40 with two Daughters each aged between 8 -12. Want to cover Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo mainly. We are vegetarians, well travelled around the world. Looking for a little authentic Japan Travel. Thinking of staying 3 nights in Osaka, 4 in Kyoto and the rest 7 in Tokyo. Pls suggest an Itinerary for 1st time Japan Travellers, budget 4 star accommodations options, with some variation like Ryokans, mainly at nearby main stations, good Veg food restaurants, Day trips from Tokyo, etc. Pls suggest an Itinerary. Thanks in Advance

Hi Toshi, I will be in Kyoto in August 2024. I will be staying 1 night/2 days. I have a JR Pass. I will be site seeing places like Kiyomizudera, Fushimi Inari, Arashiyama Bamboo Forest , Nishiki market, Gion area. Then I will be catching JR train to Osaka. Where should I stay in Kyoto? I am told to stay in Downtown Kawaramachi. However, there is no JR lines there. I would like to stay in a business area and be able to walk 15 mins to Gion and be able to walk 10 mins to Kyoto Station as I will need to catch the JR train from Kyoto Station several times. Where would you suggest I stay based on the info I provided?
I recommend a hotel near Kyoto Station because you catch the JR train from Kyoto Station several times. Kyoto Station is the hub for each sightseeing spots, so I recommend it too.
@Toshi-Guide-from-Japan Thanks Toshi. I think I will definitely have to get a hotel near Kyoto Station. What is the best option for me to get to Gion in my situation?

@@1226CT Bus or local train is the best. It is cheap and convenient.
@Toshi-Guide-from-Japan Thank you Toshi 😊
should we as tourists be worried about the Strep A cases rising in Japan?
I think you don’t worry about it if you wash your hands and gargle thoroughly in Japan.
I'll in Kyoto for 4 days but planning not to go to touristic side.
Thank you for sharing your itinerary.
I hope you have a wonderful time in Japan!!
