Out of curiosity, wouldn't you have been faster if you killed him with this combo? Be in normal form: Megalixir > very quickly after you throw the Megalixir, Ars Arcanum (mash until the second to last hit) > mash x combo until Zantetsuken hits > Ars Arcanum until second to last hit > one attack (slapshot makes it pretty consistent) > full Ars Arcanum. It does about 6 health bars if you are beyond 90 strength, and Decisive Pumpkin obviously.
This was not actually a serious run, but I tried a bunch of things. I don't remember what precisely, forgive me, this was 2 years ago. It's most important that you do not let him use his DM, which iirc he did if I start with Ars. Using a single slapshot in between Ars didn't work for me because it dealt too little damage. Doing so without letting him retaliate is a good idea in principle, but you will trigger his revenge value, deal too little damage or run out of mp if you try it all the way through, depending on what exactly you do. Considering this video got quite some attention recently, I might retry this seriously in the next couple of months (I'm busy writing my thesis at the moment), so check back then, maybe! Edit: Paragraphs are a neat thing to make text more readable.
@@LoCloud7 No worries! You killed him obsenely fast regardless. I think you were pretty much fully optimal through most of it, the combo I was referring to above is when he's down to 6 health bars after you've pummeled him already. You can substitute slap shot for a normal hit in between the Ars Arcanums, but in my experience, some people like Zexion, Xemnas, Sephiroth, and Terra break out of combos really fast if you whiff somehow. Not sure if Roxas recovers faster than normal. My exact process is start off with Limit form ASAP, then when you can land a hit, do a full combo until Zantetsuken, stop the combo completely, he will consistently do the same combo again, block and punish, then when he is at 6 bars left, I do the combo I listed above. Granted, it _has_ been a while so I'm probably not being completely accurate with what my general process was lol Update: Downloaded it again and tried what I said above and yeah, the Zantetsuken does too much damage and forces DM, although there was one time where he didn't for some reason. That, and instead of the combo above taking 6 health bars, if you start the combo on Roxas at full health, he will have 4 bars left, so it can be a round ender at half health and more.
