I love Peggy’s production, but when he’s produced for say Armand Hammer and Denzel Curry - the chemistry doesn’t hit the same as when Danny has rapped over it. Off top of my head, I do think Injury Reserve and Koreatown Oddity would do great over Peggy’s production
I'm with you on that! He gives me that Kanye feel where on top of making great beats, I think that Kanye actually innovates with his production and I think the same with Peggy.
I can see the argument for top 1 for sure. Only knock against him is his catalog for producing for other artists is really small (hopefully that changes tho)

I had heard that the main reason they had to release this separate from the album was because they had taken longer to clear these samples. It's hard to imagine them in the album but not in a bad way.
That makes a ton of sense - same issue Peggy had with LP!. He's spoke about this before, but he'll always have issues getting gospel samples cleared...not even b/c of the money but folks (understandably) not gonna want their song associated with his music lmao. On a similar note, I also heard him say that a lot of his "samples" are actually him recreating them with his own voice and processing as a loophole around getting the sample cleared. He said he does it for most songs, but I know for a fact he said he did it with Hazard Duty Pay. I probably can't see them all being on there (I think albums as perfect length) but I can see each song individually being on there. Songs like Hermanos and Tell Me where to Go sound nothing like anything on the original album, but I thought the same thing bout like Burfict and Orange Juice Jones.

This comment bout to be a paragraph of me straight glazing but it is what it is. peggy is top 10 greatest producers of all time to me and I ain't even listen to all his albums yet. the man can do everything. even his raps, the reason they're so good is because he approaches those flows so rhythmically like a producer, they perfectly weave with the drums and instrumentation. when it's all said and done I think the man will go down as one of the GOATS of not just rap but music.
Love.your channel and reactions and if youre looking for more great expirmental hip hop I recommend the group clipping. And their album CLPPNG, the group is super underrated and thier beats, flows, and descriptive lyrical content are unmatched and CLPPNG being their most normal album, with two of them being rap horror stories and the other being a strict story album,also their music videos are great so I highly recommend checking them out
Yo clipping is AWESOME!! I still gotta get into their older projects but Visions of Bodies being burned and …addiction to blood are BRILLIANT! Their last project came out before I started the channel but those woulda been in my top 10 for their respecting years. I like their weird brand of rap but also Daveed Diggs is an insanely underrated lyricist. His story telling and delivery is really special. Never checked out one of their music videos tho - I gotta do that next!
