True, I can relate to all of it. I could see through all the lies and manipulations and mirrored them back to him, which shocked him, but now I have detached and blocked him. The only problem I have so far is that I am sad I could not help him see the light. Maybe he will later on; it is up to him. He chose to ignore everything, so I am moving on. I am now old and so is he. Maybe it's too late.

Thank you for sharing your heartfelt and powerful story. Facing and mirroring the behavior of a narcissist is no easy feat, but you’ve done it with steadfastness and compassion. As you mentioned, childhood wounds often contribute to the "shield" of ego they build, yet your unwavering hope is truly admirable. Stay strong, as your resilience is creating a positive impact not only for yourself but also for others who may be in similar situations. Wishing you peace and inner strength on this journey!
