Dave have you ever considered an INDe ( Independent Drum Labs ) kit ? Maybe the Aluminum Kalamazoo series ? Pretty different from your usual selection . I also noticed that you don’t have many Ludwig or Gretsch drums , not a fan ?
Short answer on that is, yes, I have considered them and will probably at some point grab one. They definitely seem cool and a bit different and that does appeal. As far as Ludwig and Gretsch go, you're right. I've only got two Gretsch snares, one metal and a Brooklyn maple. I did have about a dozen Ludwig's at one point but I never really played them and so I sold them. To be honest, I don't miss them either. I would like to get a Luddie kit at some point tho, just to see what they're like.
