I had the same issue with getting my foot under the gear selector. But if you look at it you'll see it is 100% adjustable, even by a non-wrench like me.
has the gearbox/gear selector problem ever been sorted out on the Bonneville models either by the replacement of the gear selector or in recent years of manufacture [if so then when] in such a way that the issue won't reoccur?
