really admire your tying precision. always look forward to seeing your last contribution.
I gave up on this pattern years ago! But I just tied a perfect one in a few minutes! I can’t believe I never thought of using dubbing covered thread to secure those wings! I was always trying to wrap it back through after all three wings were in place and it was a NIGHTMARE! Thanks for another great video!
Whatching this while ice fishing!!!!
I really enjoy watching these ties. Love your anecdotes as well. Thanks!
Love those old patterns. Charlie, as usual, a fantastic pattern tied by a talented and much appreciated tier. Keep em comin!!! 😎
I dig that profile. 👍
Gotta love everything about this fly. Thanks for bringing it back. Going to tie some up myself. :)
Awesome new techniques for my toolbox. Mega Thx !!!
So nice. Thx, Charlie.
Great fly pattern....My river is full of them in May
Back to Black Rocks; Thanks Heaps CC! BTW I am very keen on the soon-to-be published DRY FLY book ... perhaps not so soon? Anyway I am still looking forward to it especially since you have been doing some interesting floating flies this last while.
Not too soon…I’m supposed to be writing it this winter and here we are approaching February and I’ve only got an outline done! It’ll happen though, be patient!
This is a deceivingly easy to tie fly…having some issues with the wing material not cooperating.
Nice! Thanks.
So very well done Charlie, but these old flys don’t work…😂
Were you referring to Dave Ellis?
One thing I’ve never understood is why spinners have longer tails than the adults (before they die). Is it like ears on old men? 😉
