I truly appreciate this video. I started playing in 2020 but I felt that I was a sub par player. Even though I am not brand new, I felt this guide was useful to me and there were a lot of assets I didn't know I had until watching this video. You earned yourself a new subscriber.
for controller users theres a horse taming section make sure u hotkey it in the ring menu before doing that quest u cannot access inventory in the magnus
grinding progression goes as following create seasonal while in seasonal grind for the HP pot at Blood Wolves, Sherekhan and Ronaros; and the MP pot at Manshuams, Tshira and Nevaren step. once youre able to graduate choose the pen capotia necklace with the money youve acculated grinding all of those spot buy you upgrades to your gear thatll make you roughly 271 and start grinding sycraia. save the caphras and use that every other source of money that you get grind at sycraia on buying your pen gears (get rednose over dim tree as its easier to caphra to 10 and get TET blackstar weapons) once you hit around 289/291ap start grinding serendian elvia for accessory cups: also before grinding use the caphras you go from grinding sycraia and put them into your pen boss armors up to 5 for your boots and gloves and 10 for your helmet and chest: use the money you get from elvia to upgrade your gear further to your liking soft cap begins now so good luck
I appreciate this guide and all the work that was put into it, well done! However I'd like to add that BDO is an amazing, immersive MMO game and it might be worth to experience slowly at first, just a bit every time, if you're that kind of player. The story is also quite interesting if one pays attention and doesn't hate reading a bit. Rushing to "endgame" and burning through intro content can easily lead to quick burnout.
That us what I was thinking too. Go to Desert Nagas to reach level 61. Fogans are also about the same for XP so if someone wants to go deep into the desert they are also good for leveling. But Nagas are close to Sand Grain which gives them the advantage
Your videos are short and to the point and I love that!! Can’t wait for ep. 3!! I need to know all the things you mentioned that will be covered. I have played many MMO’s but this one seems overwhelming!! Got yourself a new subscriber sir!!
Couple other things for new players. Play lkng enough and you'll get a bunch of outfits just for playing or doing events. One example is do a bunch of afk fishing, turn in packages you fish up and you get a classic outfit. Most things in the game can be acquired but it might take a very long time so the cash shop is enticing. If you're going to buy pets make sure you buy an artic fox as it increases drop chance 1% each tear up to the tier 5. The only thing I have not gotten a perma free item for is the hose calling item and the shark suit allowing faster swim. Many bundles come up around the holidays and the calpheon/heidel ball.
See I'm upset now, cause I did not know, told, or have this kinda help when I was firsts starting out playing BDO. But I am glad that I now know what to do and change for the better.
I used to play a lot 2 years ago, came back and did magnus quest, I HATED IT, but thank god the universal storage is OP...now back to grinding my inf pots haha
Look maaan I appreciate you for breaking this shit down not only verbally but VISUALLY as well!!! Look I understand there are plenty of walkthroughs for BDO but when you expect me to know what your talking about by describing shit that still doesn’t tell me WHATS WORTH DOING!!🤣🤣
I’ve been playing for 5 years but at this point I’m a hoarder. I log in, collect all the goods and leave because I have literally no idea what I’m doing anymore. All my skills are reset I don’t know how to build it, don’t know what quests to do so I’m just hoarding. If I wasn’t an idiot I could probably do so much with my account
My advice for new players. Start on season with a Valkyrie. Space + RMB when you awaken. Get Tuvala to pen, swing it on 40FS. When you hit 45FS pull it with books from Blacksmith. Magnus reward go gloves 50 accuracy. Go to Polly's Forrest and get 2x melee accuracy artifacts, add 4 marked lights tones for accuracy. Wait as long as possible to graduate. Get 40 fail stacks from turning in stones. Once you graduate, get V Capotia Neck, Get a cup from the CM and add HP to the necklace. Use 40fs for duo accessory swings. Chances are, you're going to want to go for pot parts. Use the world drops(gold accessories) with 40fs for duo, use the 45fs from pen Tuvalu attempts for tri accessories. Use 100-110fs for tet accessory swings. Good luck! O7
Amazing guide Anders! I was wondering when I watch your videos I notice that a lot of your skills have these amazing graphical particul effects on them. Is this just a PC high end graphic situation? I play on Console on a PS5 so was just wondering.
Very Good Video. I am a long term player... that uses his time in this game with very low efficiency coefficient so I am >the< negative example, however if there is anything that you can learn from me is that if you enjoy bdo as a whole... it still keeps you playing even if you don`t reach your possible best for the least amount of time possible (even thou this is kind of this game`s mechanical core... it is all ~time frames... even if they ~invisible). Most people will not be ok with leaving undone or semi completed stuffs behind and will over short >for bdo< amounts of time get repulsed by the game all together out of undeniable sense of failure... However... Once in a while you get sort of "blasts from the past"... Month worth "projects" of the past become "thing of today`s right now" "over night" and than you kind of get to have that thing as well, with almost every one else relevant having it as well (and this is what most >top< players strive to keep themselves >Above< of) but the sense of Personal Progress is still there... You still get capabilities within the game you've always wanted, but never had before. Back on the video thou... I, because of who I am, seem to like those kind of videos a lot, and thus I have seen plenty of them. Anders is one of the top BDO related stuffs >source< in RUclips "period" and as such this video of his ranks that way too. If I have to point out what >I< see in it is... The game was >much harder beforecomplicated< actually equals "hard"... But before there were things that simply you could not "overcome" by "thinking" about them... they were matter of intentional doing, and doing and doing and doing >again
You lost me at the very beginning of the video. What is the bellino and winter region story lines? Im lost? And how would I just skip to level 56? I thought this was a video guide for new players?
my only issue with the game is its , gear upgrade system. i spend all the time getting it only to have it destroyed from not spending money to hope to upgrade it
Is this still relevant or has there been some drastic changes? Finally bought a new pc after 12 years and am now able to play BDO instead of just watching Anders' videos about it

Hi. Anders. I recently back to BDO. After 2 year more non active. And im done with seasonal gear. And thinking what should i do after i get "tet gears Stats" With not great accessories. Will you cover this in your next Vid? Thanks tho
Has this changed? I am playing the witch class and in-game as well as everything i've read online indicates if you choose succession there is no way to go back and you can no longer use awakening skills, in-game warning on the awakening succession warns if I complete quest I can't ever go back to awakening, So I'm just staying with awakening only for now unless i have a 100% need to go into succession. Or am I confusing things? I just hit level 56 today and did my awakening quests but stopped at the succession one with the warning.
So, I just wanna know. I bought the black spirit season pass, and I cant help but notice I only have like 6 days before the end of the season. If I don't activate the pass will I be able to keep it till the next season opens? or should i pop it and try getting as far as I can?
The pass will only work for this season sadly. You can complete the pass in a single day, though. They have made it very easy to do. Don't even need to level to 61 anymore.

Hey, I stopped playing bdo when succession came out. How is the game currently? This vid was in my recommended and it peaked my interest and now I am wondering if I should get back into it
I’ve been playing and active and its meh, but that probably because I’m starting to burn out. Also doesn’t help that I only need PEN BS weps and accessories, so I’m slowly slogging through to improve my GS.
I have no clue what to do with all this random material that’s filled my inventory, or how to do open world stuff. There’s all this stuff with fishing and crafting and smithing and I don’t see where to do any of it lol. And the story has been almost unbearably boring. Barely fighting any enemies, which you oneshot, and just running between a million NPC’s spamming thru a thousand lines of dialogue over and over
Im a complete noob and casual player. I went through the Everfrost questline and am now Lv. 56 after, I think, completing the Mediah Story Line (Im confused, but no Mediah quest show anymore so I guess Im done with it.).. I have the Bronte Earring from Everfrost quesline and have a Cloud Ring. Now, is it worth it for me to keep progressing through the Main Questline? I have the options to go for Balenos or Valentia now.. Is it fine to go for those now? Im not trying to rush at all but I also dont wanna just do things that dont need to be done or are not worth it.. also to be a little bit efficient... Im a bad Sandbox games and like handholding a bit more hence why I'd be fine to just keep going with the Main Quest the Black Dude gives me.. what you veterans say?
Did I miss something, or did u not mention anything about pre lvl 56? Is that just to be summed up in: "follow your main quest you'll learn basics along the way and don't worry about the rest for now."? cause I am getting event items in my inventory, that I can't give to npc yet sometimes and other stuff that I am unsure what to do with, that is now sitting in my storage. Do I need to worry, or will that clear up by it's self. I am not really reading all the dialogue cause I am in for the gameplay & grind.
00:26 You do the main story till you finish the Mediah section which is when you hit 56. Don't worry about event items for now. Each event item tells you what it's for if you're curious.
They opened the former "endgame" grindspots for basicly all players by nerf the mobs and cap the damage players can deal to the mobs. Good gear is nearly pointless nowadays. Just relevant for special PvE and PvP activitys.

I played BDO when it came out and maxed a character. Quit after it became kind of stale to play, since all you do is just grind, but at least the game was accessible. Came back to try it again recently, and tbh, I don't understand anything anymore. It's a convoluted mess. Game mechanics upon game mechanics, that probably only veterans can make sense of. It's common for MMOs. They try to engage new player bases for their dwindling numbers, are forced to simplify an enormously complex game system and basically end up aggravating their current player base, while still not hooking new players due to the still overwhelming amount of knowledge one needs to consume through meta-gaming just to know what the heck is going on. MMOs are the worst at resets, they are better off starting from scratch and make a sequel.
Most live service games are like that, not just MMOs. You can see if it's for you or bounce off without much investment. No loss there. BDO has many mechanics to understand which is appealing to some and a turn off to others. Game is in a good state right now, but don't play it just because it's the latest flavor of the month. Best to keep looking or if you really want to give it a go, find an active guild. These social games are better when you have a group of people playing together.
If I want to lvl an alt character, should I do the simplified main quest line or start with the eternal winter storyline? What is the different and which do you recommend? Is one lvling faster than another?
Eternal Winter has very few fighting and is mostly about hearing/experiencing a different storyline, which leads you to lvl 50+. (Its was 51 for me and I was somewhat good prepared for more of the world, when I finished.) In the long run you want the knowledge of that questline anyways.

I've played BDO off and on since the beginning, and I still find this series incredibly useful. Well done.

How do you clear the Rowdy Crowd for Magnus? I have been on it for like 3-4 hours and it just doesn't work trying to tame the horse.
