- Discover some of the best wetland wildlife that north Norfolk has to offer as I follow some of the Norfolk coast path at Norfolk Wildlife Trust (NWT) Cley marshes.
In this short narrated nature film you can expect a wide variety of wetland and wading birds including lots of different species of waterfowl but also some of the mammals that have set up home along the coast.
Here is a list of the species featured:
Brent geese, Little egret, Turnstone, Grey seal, Pintail duck, Northern shoveler, Whooper swan, Bar tailed godwit, Teal, Chinese water deer, red throated diver, Wigeon and maybe a few other bird species.

Great video Beautiful Norfolk. Many thanks for sharing.
Thank you!
Wow, you saw many animals.
Great video!
Have a nice weekend, Jacq
I'm there with you Liam! I've never seen a diver nora snow bunting, nor even a brambling. They are about but.......
I have never seen a brambling either, im sure it'll happen soon enough but perhaps not this winter!
Nice video, keep at it
Just brilliant!!! Always look forward your post ! I always learn so much !! Fantastic Liam 👍
Thanks Craig.
I love to hear that people have actually learned something from my videos, I learn most of it as I go but do find myself having to research things less as I make more videos and retain the information :)
I must have missed this one when it was released! Great video as always, I'm looking forward to getting back outside looking for wildlife soon.
Another great and interesting upload. I have seen egrets on te coast here in Somerset.
Very beautiful birds 🦢!
Really enjoyed this, thank you!
Thank you :)
Really loved this, Liam. Camera work is lovely and the detail is great.
Thank you! I’m really glad you liked it :)
It's neat to see a few familiar species across the pond. Also a few of their close cousins. We definitely don't have fanged deer though.
Very nice and interesting video, greetings.
Nice video, Like n.6 and Greetings from Italy :)
Grazie. Sono davvero contento che ti sia piaciuto.
Ciao dall'inghilterra!
Once again a great video. Can’t wait for COVID to pass and perhaps have the opportunity to visit UK and North Norfolk once more!
Thank you Kevin. Things do seem to be looking up here with regards to the roll out of the vaccine etc so hopefully this year will see some return to normality.
great day out
That was awesome! Thanks for taking us along!
Thanks a lot! Im not sure I have seen your name pop up before in the comments (sorry if you have) but if not, welcome to the channel, I hope you continue to enjoy the videos :)
4:58 shoveler
Well spotted!
When you popped out at the end I thought you were going to start with “And on that bombshell!” 😆😆
Great video Liam, and yes I have had the same frustration as you and others around the world indeed of reserves being closed. But doorstep birdwatching is more than exciting. I’ve just seen my first little flock of Redpoll in the bushes 😍 Who says you need to travel to get good birdwatching. Take care pal. Stu
Ahhh! I missed such a trick there!
This was filmed back in December before the stay local conditions were put in place so I thought it might have been open but its fine, there was a lot to see anyway. I luckily filmed a few more videos before full lockdown came into affect so have a months supply at least, which is good. And then, if things haven't eased up there are loads of good wildlife spots within walking distance of home so perhaps i'll explore some of them :)
Cheers!
@@AShotOfWildlife Thanks again for your time and effort with your videos. Looking forward to the next ones.
@@sidneylol Thank you for watching them. I'm just glad that people are finding them interesting and useful.

Thank you for your time to read .Love this footage of yours .
The subscribed I love this so so intersting thanks so so much for sharing
Thank you. That’s great to hear! I hope I can keep proving videos that you’ll enjoy.
@@AShotOfWildlife fasnicnated with wildlife I particularly enjoy the fresh water fish ones what types and where to find them just had no idea there were that many
Loved the music change when the Turnstones were getting about their work 😂🎶 keep up the good work, Liam, they're a welcome break from the monotony of this lockdown!
Fun fact: the distance that Swan has flown is comparable to the length of the ring road around Iceland, but at 850 miles it has travelled a little further, I think the ring road is about 830 miles.
@@GillRant Cheers Liam. For the fun fact and the feedback.
I actually had different music on that bit on my first export of the video but decided having soft piano all the way through was a bit too much. I think the music is the hardest part of putting together one of these videos and might try selecting music first for the next one and then editing everything else to fit that.
I hope you are holding up okay!
@@AShotOfWildlife Yeah not doing too bad, I only know that fact because I'm virtually cycling around iceland at the minute 😂🇮🇸
@@GillRant How does that work then? do you cycle with a screen in front of you which represents where you would be or is it more of a cycling the equivalent distance but in England type thing?
@@AShotOfWildlife I have an app that I just log my progress in with evidence of what I've done on my indoor bike, pretty lame compared to what it sounds like but it's a goal to aim for at least
Your wee films just keep getting better mate. That Red Necked Grebe was a good find. Was it a life-tick for you? Love the wrap-up at the end with you popping up out of the metal igloo! Brilliant! :-)
Big thumb's up from me buddy!
Cheers mate! Yes, the Diver was a 1st for me but they are getting more common on the coast here so im sure I will see them again in the future. I just really want to see a snow bunting, have you ever seen one?
Getting into the metal igloo was quite a struggle for someone as deceptively tall as me :) Im pretty sure its an old gun post or something /to do with the war.
@@AShotOfWildlife 😆😅🤣 - I'd have paid to see the climb-in! 😎
@@NaturallyCuriousUK I think I repeated the phrase "dont castrate me, dont catsrate me" a few times. There was a metal sharp edged cross bar in a very precarious place!
@@AShotOfWildlife 😮😆🤣
great video I'm making my first long documentary (1hr and a half) on 5 different habitats of norfolk but covid has made it harder got some footage of deer birds and stoat but its hard cos I cant drive anywhere cos im 15 but your mini documentry's really helped
Thank you. Which five habitats are you going to do it about?
I havent been able to film stoat yet, I've been quite lucky with Otters, foxes and other large mammals but stoats, weasels and badgers still allude me.
@@AShotOfWildlife I am doing grassland, woodland, heaths, freshwater and the coast. I got quite lucky with the stoat and for badgers I’ve got a friend who is rewinding their farmland and they often film the badgers in there so I will camp out there and hopefully get some good footage at some point
6:11 what species are those ducks at the bottom
I think they are teal but when i get the chance I will see if i have any other footage of them.
Great video!
Thank you.
