What I love about your videos is how you blend with nature without harming terrifying or killing the beings you film. I am astounded how proud some of the video makers are when they catch a 150 year old fish. How sad for humanity. Man, the most violent being on the planet, no soul, no compassion. Unconscious. Asleep.
As a guide, the best way to find a Dipper is to look for white poo on the rocks of a babbling brook. No poo no dipper! I’d drive 600 miles round trip to see what you saw. Of course you’d’ve seen lots of incidentals on the journey. Top stuff! 👏
Brilliant. When life doesn't give you an otter It gives you the magnificence of a Heron. I was given an alpaca jumper a few years ago Which is about as close as I'm ever going to get to one I suppose.
Gelt Woods and Northern UK remind me New England. Cool and green with water. And, wildlife. The Grey Heron has to be a cousin of the Great Blue Heron we have. That's terrific you celebrate and take pictures of "" the common stuff "! Starlings are universal and imported here as well. But, we've learned to see the good things about them. The Wigwam cabin was really nice. Brown Trout have been spread around the world by fishermen and governments. Tremendous video. God bless you and safe travels always.
Thanks. I like to use drone footage where possible but it has to be in a situation where it won't disturb the wildlife (and where its legal). Expect more in the future :)
As always, I thoroughly enjoyed all of your videos. Having grown up in the countryside of N. Yorkshire, it brings back memories. Please keep up thrilling us with your beautiful pictures. John , Central Coast NSW, Aus,
Thanks Bryan. Im glad this video has been well received, I think it was probably the most pre-planned and dedicated wildlife trip I have made since making these videos so im glad it paid off.
Hi Liam brilliant video again beautiful pleases plenty of wild life love the way you explain all that you see and stay in love to see more like this keep up your brilliant work and videos Bernard
Another great video. That wigwam looked really comfortable and in a lovely spot. Never been to that part of the UK, Gelt Woods is beautiful, best regards.
Liam, I've only recently come across your channel and I really enjoy your videos. I'm a resident of Cumbria, having moved here from South Africa 2 and a half years ago. I am loving learning about the wildlife in my new home country and it's channels like yours that really help that along and inspire me to get out and explore. I'm so glad you visited here and would encourage you to do it again... There's so much more to see 😊.
@@AShotOfWildlife I find your videos engaging and very helpful as I'm learning more about wildlife and nature in the UK which is so very different to what I've known all my life 😊
Thank you, Liam, for yet another brilliant video from such a beautiful and nature-rich location. I, too, was distracted by the Fairy going back home after having taken a swim and wondered why you were concentrating on the water until I rewound and had a closer look! Please keep these videos coming!
I love your Norfolk walks and videos but this one was especially nice because I live in W.Yorks and the hills are very similar.I live on the edge of the Peak District, I would love to see you do a traverse of the dark peaks and show the wildlife there. I go when I can but am not too mobile so never get to the really wild bits :)
Your best video yet ! I really enjoyed that, especially the good footage of dippers. Incidentally, they are also happy to feed in still water as well as in streams - only last Monday I watched one repeatedly diving in an old mill pond not far from where I live, even though the pond is right next to a large stream/small river. If you're prepared to make another long trip, I can also recommend a few very good spots in the Yorkshire Dales where you're very likely (I can virtually guarantee it) to see sand martins, kingfishers, and shoveller ducks, as well as a host of other wildlife.
Thanks Kevin. I didn't know they also frequent still waters so I'll keep an eye out for that in the future. Yorkshire is on my list so expect me to be in touch in the future. Cheers!
@@AShotOfWildlife You're very welcome, Liam. And don't hesitate to get in touch - as I said, I know some very good places for spotting interesting wildlife, mostly in the lower Wensleydale & Swaledale areas, which are well worth seeing in their own right. :)
I loved watching this trip! Looks like you had a great time and got some great footage. It's great to see your personality and sense of humour coming out more and more and I love the combination of the different cameras. :)
Thank you! I hope so, they have some sites in places I would really love to visit. I just need to keep my fingers crossed this video does well and that they'll ask me back.
Brilliant Liam. Looks like you had a fantastic time. Really well put together, and I love some your funny turns of phrase - e.g. the scaffold lorry thing and your description of the absent corrupted audio. Top work buddy. Always an enjoyable watch. Laters dude! 👍👍👍
Liam, I've been watching your videos for a couple of months or so now and I think I have caught up on most of your earlier productions. I'd have to say that the quality is marketly improved. Please don't think I'm knocking the early stuff, far from it, the factual contact and your obvious love of nature shine through. I have noticed though, that your presentation skills have come on so far, and I think that matters even more than the fact that your technical skills/access to better equipment has also dramatically increased. Can I just ask aquestion about this video. While you are talking and concentrating on what is happening in the water to the right of the heron. I noticed to the left of the heron what appears to be some small creature moving on the suface of the water toward the left bank and exiting the water around the rocks up through a gap in vegetation and then possibly climbing a tree before leaping to the right and landing on another tree. I'm not sure what kind of creature could cause this image but you can bet I'll convince my 8 year old granddaughter that it's a fairy returning to her home in the woods after taking a dip in the river. 😂🤣😂
Hi Jim. Thank you so much for your feedback. I am definitely more comfortable in front of the camera these days so I'm glad that is coming through more. I've always wanted this format of video to make the viewer feel as if they are there with me so I hope that's how it feels. If your granddaughter is reading this, yes, it's definitely a fairy heading home.... I think it's dust or something like that, very close to the lens. Cheers!
@Transplanted1 Great. Thank you. This format of video takes a lot longer to put together so I wont be able to do those every time, however, I do have another lined up for the next couple of weeks. Thanks for your support!
What did you catch on the trap at the end of the film behind the heron? something swam past the heron across the water then onto the land and up through the trees?
You are not the first person to ask this, but I think it was actually something really small walking up the camera trap and looking like it was further away.
It’s tal k y tarn and in Cumbria starling is pronounced 'sh*ty shep', because of their habit of riding on the backs of sheep. Even though I’m Lancastrian and I love the Lancashire/Cumbria border around Silverdale and Leighton Moss it’s nice to see the north of Cumbria. Another brilliant video. I’m glad you’re getting sponsors you richly deserve.

The North of England is like England, but North. I used to live there. Now I live in Asia. That camping place looks fantastic.
I love the nature of the UK and I love your RUclips channel I have been watching your videos for a while now
Thank you! I hope I can continue to deliver the goods!
Never knew about dippers until now - what fantastic birds!
Lovely! Thanks. Jan

Oh Liam that was lovely, I really felt like I tagged along with you. I like your drone footage was lovely to see it from above

It looks like you had a great time. Beautiful surroundings and fantastic wildlife!

Kingfishers are very active at that trout farm
Yeah, I saw a couple whilst I was there but I didn't manage any footage unfortunately. I'll probably go back in the spring to try my luck again
Thanks
Thank you!
Where in Lancashire did you stay may i ask please! Fantastic video..m
Thank you. This was filmed in Cumbria, not Lancashire. I am not sure I have ever been to lancashire... I'll have to rectify that soon!
I spotted a dipper in a park in. Romsey Hampshire

You are not the first person to ask this, but I think it was actually something really small walking up the camera trap and looking like it was further away.
What was that in the water at 7:59? Something dropping in from above? Or a fish jumping? (near the top left)
Well spotted. That would have been a fish jumping I suspect. Cheers
2 local parks near me have canada geese
Little stone building, boat house surely?
Yes, it definitely used to be a boat house but I'm not sure if it is any more.
