I've been in Paris for almost a month now and exploring the food scene. I have to say food here is actually not expensive compared to Australia where I'm from. Many restaurants in central districts offer decent delicious dishes at very reasonable prices. The formule midi is even cheaper, so cheap I can't believe it sometimes. Wines are also cheaper. Boulangerie items are cheaper too. I'm in food heaven!
You'll also find that the food in local areas away from tourists will be better and cheaper as they serve locals, who they see a few times a month or more, whereas tourist based restaurants may only see you once or twice
That's a turn for the better. 30 years ago it was the other way around. My stomach is just about leaping out of my body to savour these French style foods. I can't wait to organise myself for the Parisean culinary onslaught. Last time it was Covid in the way. This time? Hopefully nothing. Bon Appetit.
Everything looks really yummy! I think I would need a whole year to try all the food in your videos. Thanks for all you hard work you dedicate on your videos.
Love the Marais area - stayed at places there several times, and going with my wife for her first trip to France this Christmas/New Year. Thanks for the tips - I'm hungry already!
Bonjour Les Frenchies. I am returning to Paris for two weeks early January 2023. Staying in a small hotel near Square d’Anvers for 4 days followed by 10 days at an Airbnb on rue du Cardinale Lemoine. I know Paris fairly well however I always learn new places and things to do from you. I’ve bookmarked several of the restaurants you have suggested and intend to enjoy as many as possible. Thank you for your excellent videos. Josef.
Thank you for your recommendation of Canard Street, a few videos ago. The food there was unbelievable! The reason I took my daughter there (on a recent trip to Paris) was because you mentioned they had veggie burgers. She went for the confit duck, I went vegetarian. I would be grateful if you could give veggie options too, especially because more and more people are veggie or vegan these days. X
Oh!What a great food you're always eating at.Delinghtful.But what delights me too much is your inviting smile.I really enjoyed every vlog you featured.Entertaining indeed. Thanks Le Frenchies to both of you.
You two(Ma'am Sir )really enjoyed what served on the table. But above all I really enjoy watching you two on that great foods. And yes your envious smile.hahahaha! Thanks!

Love your videos. I hadn’t seen this video yet but happened upon the Bouillion Reppublique tonight and had dinner there. It was definitely cheap but was by far the worst meal we have had in Paris.
Are the majority of restaurants accepting cash/euros or are they cashless? Can you also discuss the weather in December in terms of what to wear, etc…is it really mostly rainy? Enjoyed the video and thanks!!
The Pittas at Enfant Rouge! Had exactly the same ones you went for 2 weeks ago and holy cow, I don’t think it’s an understatement to say they are some of the best things I’ve ever eaten in paris.
My husband and I are planning our first Paris trip…. We are watching a lot of your videos. And loving them!!! He and I have both commented on how much we like Colleen’s beautiful pendant. Is there some significance to it?
@@LesFrenchiesTravel thank you for letting me know, that’s so helpful. I always spend an additional $5-20 dining out & that’s usually just for “average” service.
@@warrenwolf4690 I find that when I am in France I can eat all the bread, croissants, cheese wine, whatever and not gain weight. Great video, but 14€ for pita or crepes is still overpriced in my opinion, you can get that in other cities or countries in Europe for 4-7€. But we‘re talking here about Paris after all ^^“
@@LesFrenchiesTravel Well some of these places are takeaway joints... hardly "restaurants". In Paris I usually just eat takeaway food. Like a banh mi ( less than 5 euro in a random Vietnamese eatery in the 3rd) or a sandwich/gateaux at a patisserie. I had no time to sit down for a meal. Or I just had a quick meal like a bowl of ramen, which can cost less than 15 euro. That's an affordable meal too.
A few weeks ago I found Bouillon République near our flat and made reservations for our upcoming trip in November. I'm glad it's as good as it sounded!
I stayed around Marais last time in Paris. I've visited both the market and the place you bought the ribs. Fantastic location no shortage of good restaurants, patisserie and boulangerie.
This is a great idea for a "video topic"! I'd think your viewers would benefit from several of these, covering the main neighborhoods where tourists would likely find themselves in Paris. A constant challenge in many major European cities is where to find authentic, non-touristy restaurants that won't "break the bank". Good job, guys!
I've been watching a video (or two ) a day since I have found your channel. Thanks for the videos, they are informative, fun and full of delicious food that I want to try!
Great videos and awesome content, super helpful. Can you please provide information about the weather in early December, does it get really cold. Any advice on what type of clothing to wear during that time. Thank you
This is my old neighborhood from 28 years ago. There's a chocolatier at 39 rue des Archives just diagonally from the National Archives. I lived in the apartment directly above it. Every morning the torture of fresh chocolate being made.

In Bretagne, they sell those same crêpes for 1/3 of the price. Such a ripoff. Also I work in the 3rd arrondissement and you can find cheaper lunch meal just as good such as Poké, sushi, sandwichs...
You went for low price and I will definitely check these out next time I am in Paris. Brilliant! Slightly above the range here but still great value for money is my favourite in the Marais: l.Alivi. It’s a Corsican cuisine inspired restaurant with a wine cellar to match. Small with a small terrace on Rue du Roi de Sicile, right off Rue grande du temple at the rue Rivoli end.
