I have a bootleg like the one in the video but with blue dorsal fin. My mom bought it for me when I was 12 and it coated 40 dollars. Still proud of having it on my shelf.
I wonder if you can help me. I just bought a 1988 jumbo Godzilla. Instead of having the writing on the left foot it has two stickers The first says "Bandai 1988 Japan @ Toho Toho video" and the second is a shiny gold sticker with a pic of Godzilla and Godzilla written under it. I can feel the indentations underneath but don't want to take off the stickers to see what it says. Is this authentic?
I have a 1977 Godzilla toy. It’s the one that has the fire tongue and the shooting arm. It’s been in the garage for years. Everything works. How much is it worth now ??
@Paul Hillman That's a tough choice. The Train biter is an awesome figure but it's more stylized compared the Sakai 54 which is more suit accurate. If you can only have 1, the train biter might be a bit more unique for the collection.
After watching your video I realize I have the rare Bandai that has been sitting on a shelf since i was a lot younger. No box and dusty but it hits all the requirements you stated and it never been played with which puts it in great condition. what's its value in 2022 and where's the best place to list it for sale?
You could either list it yourself on ebay or ask Kaiju Live to auction it for a commission. If it were me, I would ask Kaiju Live to auction it, since they have an audience of high end Godzilla collectors. Kaiju Live is on youtube, as well as facebook and instagram.
I had my giant Bandai Bronze Godzilla ever since it came out in the 80’s. I bought mine at Little Tokyo in DTLA as a kid by saving up my lunch money. I remember paying $130.00 pls tax all in dollar bills. I took it home in the box by riding the RTD buses in L.A. I consider mine very rare because mine has two golden Godzilla stickers on the bottom of his foot. The only thing that sucks about it, is what G-Forever also confirmed in the video about the surface of the paint finish being very sticky. Remember, I’ve had mine since childhood and I can absolutely confirm that the sticky surface is no joke and its an absolute dust magnet. Once I reached adulthood, I’ve kept him covered in plastic. I still need to take time to find a way to get rid of the dust off the surface of his sticky paint finish without ruining the paint finish. Does anybody out there have any suggestions about how to remove dust from the surface of a sticky paint surface???
This probably won’t help, but I have the giant trendmasters Zilla, which has very sticky surfaces. All I use is a damp rag and clean it the best I can. It is a bit time consuming, though.
Old comment I know, but I’ve found the best way to clean figures without damaging them is to use a toothbrush for babies/small children. They’re super soft and get into the grooves really nicely. When they’re sticky I like to dip it in some warm water, shake off the excess then start gently scrubbing. Just a little bit of pressure. You can also try using a small amount of dish soap in the water, afterwards just rinse it off with water then let air dry. Hope this helps even with the old comment.
If I were to choose to have a BIG Godzilla figure in my collection, and I only had two choices between the Jakks Pacific Godzilla 2014 or the Gigantic Mosu Goji 1964/84.....I'd chose the Mosu Goji hands down! It just looks a lot more appealing to look at, and it just has that play value where you just wanna take it and just destroy all of the cardboard buildings you put together. I'd call it THE Godzilla toy

If I had the metallic one I would have put it on top of something that said “In Memory Of Haruo Nakajima” (if i knew how to do that)
I may be extremely late but got damn!!! Those are among the holy grails for Godzilla collectors!!!!

I might buy the RIC 1954 train biter x plus. Would You guys recommend it or should I wait for a 30cm Yuji Sakai?

@@gforever Ok Thanks, Also thanks for the vid.
The 1988 reissue has GREY claws and toe nails and comes in a gray box. The 1984 version has white claws and toe nails and comes in a white box.
14:36 It was because some paint will always be sticky when applied under humid environment.

I have the original 1984 one not in the best condition but to me this figure is an antique considering it is way older than me haha
I saw a few boots at a store in Japan town LA. a few years ago. I regret not getting it just for a collection point of view
I have skipped over bootlegs myself. There seem to be a lot of them lately.
