Fans resonate from all directions, throughout Kansas and Missouri within the metro area, and probably further to the east in Missouri now that the Rams bailed on St. Louis. I will say that there is a lot of mess about Missouri vs. Kansas, and while it's clear that there are two different KC's, most people that live in the greater metro area consider it the same.

      d'Jawnz funny you say that. He recently admitted that he didn’t know how to read defensive coverages until last year

    • @MicJones
      @MicJones 4 года назад +8

      @@RockmanMegaX That's not an indictment of his football acumen because he still threw for something like 2,800 yards and 26 TD's during the period where he wasn't fully comfortable with reading defenses. Mind you, it was 2018, his first year as a starter, that he was referring to. That didn't apply to this past season that ended in an NFL championship.

    • @RockmanMegaX
      @RockmanMegaX 4 года назад +2

      d'Jawnz He stated he just went out there and played normally during his MVP campaign. I’m sure he didn’t go out there not knowing anything about defense but he didn’t start noticing tendencies from defenders until 2019 season. In other words, he wasn’t much of a chess player as you say until more recently by his own admittance

    • @MicJones
      @MicJones 4 года назад +7

      @@RockmanMegaX Only if you think the only parts of the game that require acumen is reading defenses. That's silly. It takes intelligence to throw receivers open, to keep defenders at bay with ball fakes and looking them off. It also requires intelligence to check out of plays at the right times and to communicate what he's seeing on the field back to coaches. The idea that you think reading defenses is the sum total of playing the quarterback position. 😂

      not downplaying his skills and talent in any shape or form. This is what he said and It’s strange he says it now. I’m not trying to turn this into a debate. It just seems what he said by his own admittance he was less of a chess player however he executes Plays exceptionally well and can improvise if he needs to.

    Man coverage and Mahomes will exploit the tiniest window with the minimal separation his receivers can give him, like Aaron Rodgers.
    Zone coverage and he will manipulate the DBs with his eyes, like Tom Brady.
    Perfect coverage and will use his underrated athleticism to run cleverly like Russell Wilson.

      If Mahomes and the chiefs offense settle for short passes to keep the possession they could possibly tire out the front 4 and then strike at the Niners secondary. So they could be looking at a long game, keep up with the NIners by halftime (within 2 scores or something) and break out some long yard plays in the 2nd half. That would also require the Chiefs defense to get take aways when they can to give the ball back to Mahomes and slow down the Niners rush attack.

San Francisco has FIVE first-round draft picks on their defensive line! @@CaptnCrunch247 This is a good point. In the SB Mahomes got pressured and hit hard for three quarters and wasn't able to get in a groove. But what was interesting to me is how incredibly adaptable he is and how he finds a new way to win. In this case it was just a matter of endurance, outlasting that pass rush until they wore out. By rights, he should have been the one to fold first. (I heard a former Niners QB say he thought Mahomes should have had medical attention on the sidelines after some of those hits.) But he looks fresh in the 4th Q when the D begins to flag. Once he sees that weakness he goes into assassin mode.

    Mahomes genius comes from how he handles the pass rush. The real game is at the line. With no pressure wit 3 or 4 down, teams have to go man to apply more pressure or have a spy. The 49ers have gotten pressure all season with 4 down and so they can mix up coverages in the secondary more effectively, unlike the titans who sold out to Man all night. Some one below mentioned the wide 9 by the Strong side end. That is huge cuz it means they won’t be so easily washed down into the middle like the plays u used as examples. Coverages are important, but, the analysis, misses why they in those coverages in the first place; namely, pass rush or spy the QB.

    Their OLine likes to clump together to make a wall, large gaps for a speedy unseen blitz.
    The thing about their games, the defense they've faced this season, they've had issues with Patriots and even the Packers.
    The Texans and Titans are a couple of the bottom tier defense in the league, the miscommunication is seen in the above videos. Lots of assignments missed, that's not been the issue with the top pass defense in the league.

    • @hakkujin
      @hakkujin 4 года назад

      I absolutely agree. The 49ers defense is amazing. They didn't choke at all. They are just human and got tired late in the game.
      On the other hand, they are getting credit for laying a blueprint on how to beat Mahomes, but no other team has the D-line that the 49ers have. So, even with a blueprint, other teams don't have the materials to consistently beat Reid and Mahomes.
      Other teams will beat them every year, of course, but no team looks at their schedule and says, "Oh, good. It's the Chiefs. We got this, no problem."

    • @PaulGaither
      @PaulGaither 4 года назад +3

      Agreed. However, it is apples and oranges.
      Dan Marino was voted as one of the most mobile pocket passers because he could take that one, two, or three steps to avoid a pass rushers or two and sling it... but he was otherwise a statue back there who could be surrounded.
      Mahomes is very different.
      Last year, the 49ers had 3 solid interrior rushers who could collapse the pocket and flush him out, but the edge rush was shit.
      The addition of Ford and Bosa are game changers which feed off one another.
      Arik Armstead leads the team in sacks, but a lot of that has to do with how Bosa and Ford have draw double teams and attetion, amd the way they seal the edge allows Arik to win his one on one and finish.
      Getting pressyre and finishing with only 4 is the key. Not allowing Mahomes to buy time and find holes and be a star.
      Sadly, our line has had trouble doing that against the 5 games against 3 mobile QBs they have faced... and Mahomes is better than Wilson and Kyler.
