    Considering this was their Itemization patch, I'm not sure why them spending a little time to add Pits is an issue. and yes they need to address endgame now that they've improved itemization

      Agreed. They could've just been honest/brave enough to call them grifts as that's what they are - but they were so carefully trying not to mention anything like D3 there.

      @@Kristjan_N they also seemed to want to avoid naming other true competing ARPGs. I got bored and muted him at a certain point though so maybe he mentioned POE and LE?

    It would be cool if you could modify Pit runs to help target farm, like echoes from LE. The Pit also lacks meta progression like Monolith of Fate and Atlas Map.

    Of course they don't know how to do the end game yet.
    To me a clear sign was the fact that they mentioned the zoomed out camera like it was a small irrelevant feature, while it's been massively requested all the way since release.
    I would've said that it's one of the first things to mention to get people watching on their side, but no - clueless devs as usual.
    Even with that, it is clear that the changes are in the right direction - enough for me to try it out at least.
    But same with the boss grind: I just won't do it, I might kill duriel/andariel a few times for kicks, but that's where I draw the line.

    This feels like they played LE for a month and slapped together a craft-heavy emphasis on their itemization.
    Tempering is like shitty forge potential and it looks less exciting and less deterministic.
    With how boring their base items are, I think this gameplay/gearing loop will grow stale just as fast as the previous systems.
    It will benefit from actually having things that should of been in the game (Rifts, more thought out end game bossing) at launch.
    Maybe if they give Bundle of Hatred away for free i'll give it a try. Until then LE and PoE deserve my money and time. Blizzard has lost me

    The problems that remain are...helltides, no matter how good they are, will still be boring at some point. No loot filter...i understand that items drop less, so there's less of a need for a loot filter but, you still will need a loot filter at some point. Skill tree...awful. What could be done here is bring back the bug senechal or w/e is called. That thing could update your skills instead of having its own and a lot of options could be opened here to make up the 'too simple, insults intelligence' skill tree.

    At this point i've just been dealing with out of touch blizzard design and decisions as well as their delayed corrections... for so long that I'm just over it. They need innovation "internally" just as much as they do with their individual game design. Their problems are pretty consistent across all their games and stem from the same underlying repeating problems.
    Blizzard consistently designs poorly, releases undercooked, and then is forced to focus on damage control rather than doing anything but tread water.

    I love shutting on D4 myself but the endgame of LE really isn't any better. You run the same echoes over and over which is no better than GR's in Diablo to make them harder and making them harder gives you better loot.

    It's crazy they said damage is feixed now it scales with weapon damge when that was the problem all along, hah they never listen, or they listen to the wrong feedback since d3, attacks should be attacks and spells spells

      It was specifically flat damage from aspects that didn't scale with weapon damage. They tried to separate the damage of that from the damage of the weapon, which is honestly a noble goal, but it's a nightmare to balance (case in point).

    I agree with most of what you said but greater rifts are super fun. I think they were a problem in d3 because that was the ONLY thing you did. But there’s a ton of other stuff to do in the game

    As long as D4 still uses D3 spells for its classes then it will always be trash. Who cares if you can make an item when sorcerer spells are literally the same as wizard spells from D3.

    There's not much difference between monoliths and greater rifts. Basically almost the same thing, LE does it in a better way but at the core...

    I mean these are some decent changes. But what about build diversity? I feel that's D4s biggest issue. Everything is so cookie cutter.

    Blizzard has never been big on evolution but huge on innovation. As someone who wanted to like Last Epoch but didn't, I could appreciate them innovating on some of the core systems that I think Last Epoch knocked it out of the park on. Like the exalted systems and the crafting. Unfortunately the look and feel of LE is just too generic and indie for my tastes and I prefer a triple-A polish to my games.

    You seem grumpy and negative. I think you're just a guy who has a particular voice and cadence, but still, you just come off as gloomy, negative, and like your view on D4 is "meh" even though your words make it sound like you're a fan of D4. It's just this strange incongruity I can't get past, how your body language and facial expression say "I am grumpy, upset, and find NOTHING in life exciting or good enough for my standards" yet your words come off as "D4 is not too bad, there's some ok stuff to look forward to." Your words/expressions don't match so it just gives me a weird vibe watching this video, hah.
