Love the simplicity. It's very much like my MG Midget Mk I which had a spring loaded cam lock to compress the frame a couple inches to slacken the top before removal. It was way easier than the permanently attached one that came afterwards. When the time comes to replace the top, you don't have to hire a professional installer.
Nice but I would recommend working on a table and not the car. Snaps from top can scratch paintwork on car and dirt from car can scratch lights (plastic) on top.
OK, still a pain in the ass. I have been doing it right. Thank god I take it off at home and hang it on a rack I made up. The 'boot'. I never get tired of hearing the trunk referred to as that!
Why didn't you show how to lift the frame out of its sockets, pull it in half to fold up and put it in the trunk with the top? It only adds another two minutes. The total of both in the trunk adds about 3" of space. It was a design that didn't need improving.
Excellent
I have learned both the on and off from your videos
Thank you David

Outstanding video and presentation
1971 up the hood is attached to the frame and folds down together without fully removing it
Exellent presentation

How to successfully scratch the paintwork on the boot lid
Complety different on a later model with top attached to the roof frame ?
That’s true. I’ve put a link to University Motors hood folding guide on our web site mgtrim.com.au
