Nice review. Got one myself, love it. Awesome airflow, never has it fogged up on me (yet), but with awesome airflow comes noise. It's definitely a noisy helmet, but I'll take airflow over noise, which can be alleviated with earplugs. For the person asking if it'll mist in the rain, I didn't have any issues with it in the wet. No fogging, and water rolled off for me. Overall, I got it for $250 USD (w/ a secondary ICON visor).
Thanks for letting us know how you found the helmet, we always appreciate it! It's great it hasn't fogged up yet and even better that it's thanks to the helmet's airflow. How have you found the Airflite for comfort?
@@Championhelmets I have this helmet too, I am a new rider but my experience with comfort has been great. the view is awesome and at high speeds on the California freeways its solid and doesn't catch wind. I have an XS and its never been too tight, its a perfect fit and doesn't move around. its also really visible. I got mine for $300 with two visors.
@@mightymykell Great to hear you're enjoying the Airflite so far! As far as value for money, Icon always offer an excellent set of features, not to mention the great range of colors and additional visors. Thanks for the comment! How have you found the helmet for noise?
@@Championhelmets it’s loud I’m assuming but I haven’t owned another helmet to compare it to. But I can hear the wind at highway speeds. Personally, it relaxes me and it’s not an absurd amount. Once again, this is the only helmet I’ve owned lol.
The mechanism on the Airflite's sun visor was a little sticky, though it should limber up with use. That being said, one thing to be aware of with the Airflite is it was generally fairly basic for a helmet and it's main focus would be on style. What drew you to this helmet?
@@Championhelmets Nothing particularly drew me to this helmet. I'm looking for one to pair with my upcoming MT07 and have a hard time deciding. This helmet Is a fog machine. At stops, the fog build up is crazy. The top vents feel pretty useless too noisy but doesn't push air properly. Overall looks better than it performs
I made the huge mistake to buy the Icon Airflite because I thought that it looked cool and because I saw many rewievs saying that the noise cancelling is quite good. They lied. The windnoise is so bad that I can barely concentrate on the ride and get a headache afer like 50 km. Now I'm looking for a helmet in the same price range (Student here, can't afford that much) which does better in noise cancelling but still has a nice design to it. Can you maybe recommend something? PS: The helmet might perform better for you if you have the recommended headshape (see helmet description) but for me it's just not it :) still a hella great looking helmet
When we took the helmet out, we found the same results for noise, since 105 dB is definitely loud for a helmet. If you're looking for something in a similar price range, you can also check out our Entry Level Helmet Road Test here: ruclips.net/video/dQcjBj8ib1g/видео.html. Thanks for sharing your experience with the helmet! How did you find the Airflite for ventilation?
Safe, on the cheap, with a pretty sporty design sounds like the Scorpion R420. Around $150-160, snell rated. Only issue is it only comes with 2 shell sizes, so if you're an XS or L then you end up with an oversized shell and a ton of internal padding. I'm looking to replace my 10 year old Shoei RF1100 and the Scorpion seems like my best budget option. Just wish it had some flashier paint jobs, aside from the Sugar Skull. I've got one of the old Diabolic paint jobs on my Shoei and was really eyeing the Vaporwave Airflite, but it's not meant to be.
Bullshit, I ride a 1000cc naked, so you could imagine I go 100mph+ pretty often and I never had problems with the noise... sure, it's a bit noisy, but I've done several rides longer than 300 miles in a day and NEVER had an issue.
I really like this helmet but your review make me think about not getting this helmet. Shoei GT AIR 2 is nice helmet but expensive. I need to upgrade helmet since I had my Helmet for 5 years now. I needed new one with a good ventilation since its really hot here in TEXAS on summer. any advice????
Thanks for the comment! Of the helmets that we've road tested, the best ventilating ones under $500 have been the Shark Spartan GT (Carbon), AGV K6, and Shoei NXR. Though these are priced somewhat above the Airflite, another option at a similar price point would be the Shark Skwal 2.2 or the HJC i70. Did any of the road test results for the helmet surprise you?
Hi Haris, yes, it is possible to fit the 50S in the Airflite. Though the one challenge you may come across is fitting the clamp between the EPS and the outer shell of the helmet (which are very close together), it's always possible to use the glue mount and the speakers are small enough to comfortably fit in the helmet's speaker pockets. Thanks for the question! What are your thoughts on the Airflite?

Hi ! Thanks for this review. I would like to purchase one of those Airflite but I have a question tho.
