- While we were travelling in Tulum, we wanted to do a shoot out in the pool but the sun light had turned pretty dark as we were in the jungle. Thankfully we were travelling with an awesome tiny but powerful constant light and a translucent umbrella that we were able to bring in and finish off the shot.

only cool or also in combination with coolcoolreallypretty? I still wonder what a pool shoot is good for when it also could be a belly height wall or a terrace? Without all the cold water involved? Or does "hammock shot" just doesn't sound as appealing?

First a few glasses of wine and poor Bec doesn't even get a chance for a little snooze before getting into all this hard work. She's such a trooper. Always fun to watch these shoots. Thanks to both of you. P.S. I picked up the 50 Lux and 90 Apo Summicron, Next is the 75 Lux and then the body. Can't wait to put the gear and these pointers to good use when I get back to Europe. Many thanks for this new behind the scenes video, I would name it as: “Bec’s peculiar relationship with water”. It has made my weekend.
@B: I like water in all its forms. For me, to be surrounded by water is the most relaxing experience. I still remember the occasion when while I was swimming in the sea, it started raining, there were thick drops; you need to experience it understand what to be part of water means. I have very good memories when I used to have dinner in the bath and then a nap there too, with warm water, after coming back from the gym; there’s not luxurious restaurant that can exceed it.
@P: We have heard your voice when you have switched on the light and it has illuminated B’s face; I have also noticed the difference, it has been amazing.
@B: It has been funny when you were trying to wet the ends of your hair, it looked like you were caressing the water.
@B: If I had to add music to this scenario, I would definitely include the sound of water, as if coming from a fountain or spring.
@P: If you were looking for storytelling images, I don’t understand why bou didn’t take photographs when B was going down the steps of the swimming pool. A different story for each step.

It never occurred to me to use battery powered constant lights as fill on old barrel lenses until your other vid from mexico. Don't feel too bad they don't put umbrella mounts on the cheap lights either.

Just try using magic arm for umbrella or a superclamp with umbrella mount.

Would you agree that the same thing can be achieved with a small flash?
Yes but one of the problems with flash is you can't turn most of them down enough and you can't see whats going to happen with the light until after you take a photo, but most models are more comfortable with a flash rather than a constant light in their face

Thank you Peter, just had a look at that, however considering the fact I have been retired now for over 13 years, and my income is real terms is becoming less, and less, I think I'll stick to natural light as best I can. Unless I win the lottery. Ho Ho! Brilliant session by the way!

You have amazing discussions about light and you tell us focal length but give us the rest. How fast are those lenses? We're not buying those High end bodies but whats the bare minimum us regular folk need to buy to do our muses justice?
