Oh boy! Just the video I need. We have a cool grey, large scale tile floor in an open plan: living room, kitchen dining room. For now the walls are white. But it really is a game of one surface playing off another and building in some colour until it is time to stop. I really like the lush greenery of plants against the white walls. I was interested to hear how tricky it is to match neutrals so will probably avoid that. I am drawn to painting the wall opposite the windows a leafy green, not that farrow and ball bright green. But again choosing the right green feels like a minefield. May be that’s all part of the fun!
Dorian Grey from SW is the best neutral grey. We love it. In some rooms it’s a bit dark. We have gray carpet that leans cool and it’s very light compared to our walls. the contrasts is great.

Going with Pure White and adding color with towels, rug, etc. Can you recommend a white paint from each paint company that is neutral enough to use as a trim color in warm and cool painted rooms?
I'mma gonna presume you took my Color-Swatch Death-Match idea to heart. Simply White vs. Chantilly Lace: Pure White jumps into the ring, slams their heads together and KOs both of them for the win!
Glad someone else points out that gray on gray is ... not great usually lol. I keep seeing cool and neutral tones - and GRAY - recommended for gray flooring with warm wood trim, and imo it's depressing. The former homeowner went for the most neutral, bland look and it shows. Honestly feel that it could lean into some light color and warmer tones.

I would like to paint interior walls gray that almost looks white but not so white that people think it's white at first glance. Do you know what color selection gray I would need ? Thank you!
I liked the blues with the grey floors. And I loved the orange drapes with that meh grey paint color. But you did not talk enough about the color chart. What is on the opposite side of grey and how can that work with it? White and grey just doesn’t do anything for me. How about more pink toned hues on the walls. It wasn’t that long ago you showcased some nice pink whites. You need to do this one over.
Can you start a second channel for interior design I feel like the paint vids (which for me is not what I come for) keep me from subbing and just checking in for the occasional design vids I feel that even if it’s once every other week it’s at least on a channel that’s specifically for it where the people like your takes
Trying to find a paint color for a North facing living room with brown furniture, and grey laminate wood flooring has been a challenge. I am so tired of looking for ideas and inspiration only to keep seeing the same boring trend of grey and white. It’s just to cold. With all the wonderful paint colors available, why is it only bland whites, beiges, or more cool tones of grey/blue are recommended?
Ah, come on, James, you can come up with better paint colors to use in a home with gray floors! PLEASE!!! I unfortunately have gray floors and want to have my home painted other than white walls, which is the current color. The colors you demonstrated are just ugly, IMO.
I used Clare “Like Buttah” as my whole house color! I absolutely love the beige so much.

I think most colors go with gray floors. Even some grays like jungle camouflage by behr.

Well I ended up here looking to see if my idea of a tan bathroom with galvalume gray metal ceiling and gray snap together floors was a good idea!??

Depends on whether the gray color is warm or cool because they can fight if you pick warm paint to go a cool gray color.

Gray floors in my bedrooms. I really dislike them 😮 i used SW Drift of Mist in one bedroom and plan to use SW Malted Milk in the other.
I have pine floors that are stained light gray. I hate them! We bought the house this way. Do you like the Drift of Mist on your floor? Tia
