One of the fun parts of raising kids is making memories. Many of them are lived in the moment and it's great to have the occasional memory recorded. I think that's a silver lining to being an editor - you can craft the story with the proper storytelling and visual experience to relive it with the emotion preserved. Great work!

I thoroughly second your idea of challenging children with things one would assume they wouldn't have the skill for. I continually see good results with it with my son as well, and he keeps telling me about how many RUclips channels he's going to make, so your video reminds me that I need to start teaching him Premiere.
