During Louis Van Gaal’s charge, they bought Memphis Depay & Angel De Maria. Then they bought another one in Antony Martial, with Rashford coming from Academy. All playing from the left. Then they still have to get Alexis Sanchez. What a recruitment team United have.

Before he signed for MU, in the Real Madrid team, he plays at left midfield. In the WC 2014 in Brazil, he played left wing for Argentina. Finally when he signed for MU, Van Gaal deployed him in left wing and we saw less of Depay who played there. Even when Martial was signed he played at right wing. I only see more of Di Maria at Right Wing at PSG.

Very good video. Martial came as one of most highly rated youngsters in the world and became my favourite player shortly after his debut against Liverpool. He wasn’t being nurtured and protected as he should have in the early days. Man Utd has become a grave for budding young talents. Either you become wasted like Martial and Januzaj or you develop into a narcissistic players like Lingard, rashford or pogba who thinks too highly of themselves. Despite constantly getting abused by journalists for being “lazy” or disinterested, Martial never cry abuse or start giving different excuses for his performance. I really hope his injuries can get better and he can go on to have a good career at other club. Merci Tony.

Rooney said in an interview that lingard and pogba were dancing in the dressing room the day after a defeat. That was never acceptable during SAF days. Rashford is also another player that we need to get rid of. He has been living off being manc born and bred for years while consistently showing little effort. In my History of following Man Utd (many decades) I've never come across a Player to get me actually angry. Sancho is that kid. You have your Mental issues. Fine. But then the Manager does something for you, NEVER before done in UK Footballing History. Give soooo much time off, and you're not even injured. THREE FKIN MONTHS. We were overrun with games. 3 a week! 3 months to go tiptoe through the Tulips in the Netherlands and stare at some dudes swinging Pocket Watch while laying on a Couch. How much time off did Jesse get with his Family issues.., 2 weeks or so? It gets even worse. When Ronaldo's child passed away he missed 1 single game. ONE.., then returned to work. Remember what he said about young players not wanting to listen to him? This is the mentality of this usele55 kid, Sancho.
A Man would have knocked on the Managers door and had a word about what he said to the Media regarding the training comments. He took the ch!Id route. Social Media! He called the Manager of Manchester United a l!ar.., boy who's achieved ZERO in 3 seasons at the Club. When the Man Utd, "Star", Rashford was dropped the Manager was asked why and replied that Rash was Late. The Media asked Rash about it and he smiled and said, yeah, ETH told us about discipline and I was late. A smile! DONE! No Fire, no Drama, nothing! Folks seem to have forgotten that! Sancho came out with his line, "I'm being made a scapegoat"! Where did we hear that before? In 2019 at Dortmund. Same player. But again, his M!nions seem to ignore that detail.
Pep got rid of him, discipline issues at Dortmund, England and Southgate got rid, discipline again, now Manchester Utd, discipline again.
4 Clubs can't all be wrong.
Lastly, think on this. How much do you earn a year? He earns £50,000. PER DAY! Think on that!

In 2019 under Ole, it looked like Martial was going to reach the level we all wanted to see after getting his #9 back from Lukaku after we sold Lukaku. However the start of the 20/21 season was nothing more than a false dawn. Injuries and lack of consistency what killed any hopes of reaching his potential plus he got replaced by Cavani and Ronaldo and was shocking for then title chasers Sevilla. Martial will go down as a "What If" player that had he remained fit and was consistent every game. Yes Manchester United failed him however he has to take blame for his downfall.

What went wrong witb martial? Expecting a young player with talent and potential to reach greater heights in a club where the players are paid exorbitantly and are under no pressure to perform well. People criticize Jose because he used old skool method to push the players. With so many managers after Jose, Martial going further down the peeking order just prove that it was not a coaching problem but rather a lack of dedication and urge to become one of the greatests. That can be said for so many players in the actual squad.

Plus didn’t he go through some off field relationship/divorce? Sometimes that’s rough on people

good video mate, i agree with a lot of what you say. a lot of players become scapegoats at this club when they dont set the world alight, but then those players become targeted unfairly. martial, pogba, even lukaku all didnt deserve the vitriol they got, not saying any of them set the world alight but they werent worse than the rest of the squad in those times. pogba and martial especially i think should have gotten love from the fans instead of hate. but it's become a toxic fanbase and i dont begrudge any player who wants to leave. look at sancho, he left the place where football goes to die and now he's in a champion's league final after being motm in the first leg of the semis.

I’m sorry but as a footballer you can only blame yourself if you get plenty of game time and don’t perform.

  • @TrevM0nkey
    @TrevM0nkey 8 месяцев назад

I think there's more to it than that... When you watch him play he seemed to thrive when he was the main man when he could make all the decisions. When there was another striker playing and he was on the wing or wherever, he didn't seem interested or struggled to be the second man.
You also forgot to mention AM9 when Zlatan signed, Martial was trying to market his AM9 brand like CR7, but then got shoved out to the wing and given the number 11.
He then went back to France when his kid was born but decided not to return back to the tour. That may be acceptable as he'd just become a father again, but it's not something you just decide to do yourself if your employers are expecting you back.
He just seems like he can be a bit petulant at times and mentally down tools when something doesn't go his way.

Unfortunately the worst thing that happened to both Martial and Rashford......was JOSE h. It's no secret that Mourinho does not work well with young players. He is a win now kind of a guy and puts his trust is established players. Martial and Rashford were under Mourinho when they needed to be with a Manager who could have developed them. I have always contended that Martial and Rashford should have always been played as a Front Two....kind of like a Cole and Yorke type. But the Modern Game has a 1 striker system for the most part and very few clubs employ two up front. Their skill sets would have worked with playing off each other in a two
Both these guys have underachieved and this period under Jose was never going to help either of these young guys. Both have their share of blame for not maximizing their skills but the changing Managers and specifically Mourinho was ultimately damaging to both.
