Why I’m Disabling Ads (And How You Can Support My Creative Efforts)

- Recently, RUclips has modified the way they place ads on monetized videos. The number and frequency of ads on my videos is frankly unacceptable. I am disabling monetization on ALL of my videos and streams, effective immediately. The money I'm losing as a result of this is not significant, but it does hurt a bit. Thank you. I never run ads on my channels, (this is my new channel and is pretty small compared to my other channels), I HATE the ad policy and the demonetization exploitation that comes with it, including Warner Bros vampiring money from viral videos featuring their trailers or games.

Just an F.Y.I. that I've noticed. I have a Kindle Fire that i use primarily to watch RUclips. Almost every video i watch only has one ad at the beginning or none at all. Plus i can read books on it!
Aaaaand, the new TOS comes out today saying that they may place ads on all vids, whether a partner or not. In the email they were simply stating we reserve the right to do it. Which is accurate.
Yeah, saw that in my inbox and honestly couldn't believe it. A whole new level of nonsense.
You can chose to not have mid-roll ads in your video or for those who want to still have mid roll ads, you can chose where and how much happen. By default, RUclips will automatically put midroll ads on videos longer than 8 minutes that is monetized but then you can chose to remove them in the monetization setting of that video.
Thanks for doing this! I think I own everything Absolute Tabletop has put out and have used it a lot. As I get older, I have less patience than I used to for ads. :) Your content is fantastic and has meant a lot to me over the years.

I noticed that mostly on Dnd channels I thoguht the creatores was doing that. and I was like ok what ever a lil bit annoing but people gotta earn money and I dont mind support. there is one channel that it was like onces every 7 mints and I wast like ... this is and I mght cut you off completly and Use the Ad hammer on them but hearing clarification from you thats really sucks.

And I have noticed the adds are coming on alot heavier when my kids show me stuff its ridiculous!!!!
I've had it for awhile too, but I'm thinking about canceling it only due to the company's behavior. I love what I get for it, but pushing ads, continuing to demonetize legitimate creators, and continuing to allow content farms
