WATCH: ‘I believe these women,’ Ocasio-Cortez says of migrants in detention centers

Speaking before the House Oversight committee, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recounted the stories migrant women told her during a July trip to a detention center near the U.S.-Mexico border. “I believe these women,” Ocasio-Cortez said in an impassioned testimony. “I believed the canker sores that I saw in their mouths because they were only allowed to be fed innutritious food. I them when they said they were sleeping on concrete floors for two months.”
