Man, I'm fired up now. First, 90% of the fire acreage in Oregon this year was human caused, either by vandalism, homeless camps, or simply careless people who don't obey burn restrictions. When fires erupt from lightning, they are often in roadless areas where access has been restricted since the 80's and 90's due to spotted owls or any other excuse to keep people out. Because of these, old fire roads have overgrown, making it impossible to bring equipment in to suppress the fires. I grew up in the Idaho panhandle where my family still lives and depends solely on wood heat because lpg, oil, and electricity are not reliable. My 87 year old Dad still gets his 12 cords a year, but it is getting harder to find good fuel due to gates on the roads. These roads soon won't need gates as they are growing over and washing out. The wood industry in Oregon is dying, and the big companies (LP, Weyerhauser, GP, et cet.) have built new modern, efficient mills in the Southwest for the last 25 years. It will be cheaper to send our logs there than to mill them here!
We need election integrity, a free and fare election
