Nobody has one like Greenie, unless they bought a reissue copy of it. It has an out phase pickup, which isn't a big deal, but due to some trick wiring, it somehow keeps a very low and thick tone, when normally an out of phase guitar circuit is very bright and thin sounding.
Gary Moore is the G.O.A.T, in my opinion. His voice, his guitar skill & song writing abilities are unmatched!! When my daughter was a baby I used to play this song and dance with her to get her to sleep!!! He had some amazing songs with his Ex band mare & friend Phil Lynott, check out Parisienne Walkways & Out in the Fields
You must see Empty Rooms live at Stockholm 1987. That is a Great live Performance with his group. Hé is legendary. Great gitar solo with his Bas Player. 😊❤
I saw Gary Moore live in Glasgow about 25 years ago in a small venue called Barrowland Ballroom. He played this track, among many others, and blew my mind. Such a talented guitarist. Shame he passed away too early, may he rest in peace. If you haven't already done so, you should check out some of his live performances. You won't be disappointed. Thanks for the reaction ♥
I STRONGLY recommended THE LIVE version, which is one of my favourite 3 of all time and I bought my 1st record in 1960, so 63 years ago ! ONCE AGAIN: "Gary Moore; Still Got The Blues For You-LIVE IN PARIS. Also Guys : Gary Moore-PARISIENNE WALKWAYS: LIVE IN MONTREUX.
You're fortunate if you can hear what all GM puts in this piece, as he does many of his songs: Blues, Jazz, Rock 'n Roll, Classical. Pretty amazing! Best ever!
My brothers band used to cover this song in there band. My mom always wanted them to play this song because my brother played the guitar part and she liked to watch him play it.
I would like to recommend a young blues artist named, Jonny Lang, and the songs "Lie to Me" or "Still Raining" he was 16 when he Did "Lie to Me." I know that you two will love them. He is very talented.
Glad that you came back to Gary and yes, this is his most successful track, and album btw, but you should have done the full length version, or even better of course the live version. It’s a completely different thing hearing the whole track, trust me! And then there’s as well another almost forgotten jam which gladly appears here on the net, which is a, in his entirely, 12 minute astonishing performance of “Separate Ways” live at a small country club in London, a gig he played just before starting his world tour in 1992. It has a jaw dropping double intro which you won’t forget. And of course there is, amongst many others naturally, his signature song called “Parisienne Walkways”, wrote by Phil Lynott (yes, the dude from Thin Lizzy) and music by him, in 1979 in Phil’s flat. He played that song ever since until his last days, always different. There are versions from 6 minutes to almost 12. This last one is my personal favorite and one of his last performances again at the Jazz Festival in Montreaux, but here in 2010. Definitely have to check that one out as well!
Gary started out blues, then he went hard rock for awhile then went back to blues. Please do some of his rock material Empty Rooms - his masterpiece End of the World Murder in the Skies
You've got the baseline for this song. Now you should check out a live version of which there are many and are much longer since he improvises brilliantly I must say. He was a treasure.
An interesting story about Gary is Ozzy originally wanted Gary on guitar for his new band after "departing" Sabbath. Gary was busy with his own work but recommended to him a fiery young musician named Randy Rhoads.
thanks to whoever requested this saved me thee trouble :) Yes he can also sing :) He is the GOAT

This is so beautiful, and it makes me cry every time I hear it. That's because it was one of my cousins' favourite songs, and when he passed away at 44 years old, his daughter sang this song in church at the funeral. Not an eye was dry in the church. Thanks! 💞 Gary Moore is truly underrated in the rest of the world. In Europe and specially Scandinavia he was extremely popular. His career started in the early 70's playing in the band Skid Row (not the later US metal band) which featured Phil Lynott (later the founder of Thin Lizzy) on vocals. After that he joined Thin Lizzy for several sessions during the years. He started doing solo stuff including hardrock albums and later blues albums. He also had a part in the progressive fusion band Collosseum II - this is one of my favourite parts of his career. He has been doing short sessions in other bands like Baker Bruce Moore (BBM) which featured Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker from the famous band Creem from the 60's. Creem was also Eric Claptons band. He was and still are one of the GOATS in the guitar world.
Another awesome guitarist/singer that are so gifted at both. I can name so many by GM, Parisienne Walkways, Led Clones(featuring Ozzy on vocals), Cold Hearted, End of the World, and Wishing Well, to name a few.
The Legend That Is! Gary Moore Absolute Genius On The Guitar 🎸 He's Got Some Classic Tracks! Out In The Fields a Collab He Did With The Late Great Philip Lynott, After The War, Empty Rooms, Over The Hills and Far Away.

i guess you you mean the live version from the Wild Frontier Tour 1987. But that was in Stockholm, Sweden....and you´re right, its an amazing masterpiece
RIP GM what a legend... he is in my top 5 guitar performers .. yes i call it a performance, and as suggested by others.....you NEED a live performance of this song.. that solo is outworldly in a live setting
The "Greenie" Gibson Les Paul guitar (named for Peter Green who used it originally in Fleetwood Mac) was bought and used by Gary Moore. After Gary passed away it went to a private collector, but was tracked down and bought (reportedly for $2 million, though in a recent interview on Rick Beato's channel he says it wasn't that much) by Kirk Hammett from Metallica who continues to use it to this day.
Gary is truly one of the best that has ever been. Give a listen to "No Reason To Cry". Really a good story and great guitar solo. Miss his talents very much. He is truly and underrated genius.
I rarely ever recomend songs. Generally just enjoy watching the reactions of you young folk being turned on to great music that us old folk have been lucky enough to have been listening to for years. But when it comes to Gary Moore I'm gonna make an exception. I double, no triple-dog dare you guys to do a reaction to Gary Moore covering Jimi Hendrix's song Red House live at the Fender 50th Anniversary show. It's pro-shot show the quality is professional, and I promise it'll change your religious beliefs. It's rumored that by the end of the song Moore had blown out the pick-ups in the Fender Stratocaster he used to play the song with. Even if you don't want to do a reaction to it, you should still check it out for your own viewing pleasure. It's absolutely incredible stuff. Thanx, and God's speed.
One of my influence's! Gary had a vast career playing for the Irish Skid Row (1968-'71), Colosseum II (1975-'78), Thin Lizzy (1974, 1977, & 1978-'79), Andrew Lloyd Webber (1978), Cozy Powell's Band (1979-'81), Phil Lynott's Band (1980), Greg Lake's Band (1981-'83), The Traveling Wilburys (1990), and Bruce-Baker-Moore (1993-'94) while releasing seventeen solo albums in the process.
You have to do the live video with the solo plz , this was ok the live version is absolutely the way love your videos ! Keep up the fire content and blessed be upon the both of you!❤️
Gary Moore is one of my favorite artists. Another song of his that doesn't get enough attention is his cover of an old Albert King song, "Oh, Pretty Woman" (not to be confused with the Roy Orbison song - completely different). He even has Albert King playing with him on the track, and he's featured in the video. Highly recommend it!
The very best of Gary Moore can be found on the Thin Lizzy album, Jail Break. Check out Romeo And The Lonely Girl, Running Back, Angel From The Coast. That whole album is pretty damn good, but those 3 songs have some really outstanding guitar work. Much love ❤️ Hey and The Cowboy Song too!
Brian Robertson was actually the guitarist on Jailbreak (with Scott Gorham also of course) - the best period for Thin Lizzy in my opinion. Gary Moore joined the band later around the Black Rose album period
@@RobONeill-b5e, I can’t believe I didn’t know that. I knew Scott Gorham was in there, but I don’t think I ever heard of Brian Robertson. I just always assumed it was Gary Moore. I still recommend they listen to those songs plus The Cowboy Song.
@CuttinEJ yes Robertson was an overlooked hero - absolutely love his lead breaks in Don't Believe a Word, Still in Love with You and, of course, Cowboy Song
@@RobONeill-b5e I absolutely love the guitars in all 4 of the songs I recommended, but I think the one that is the most complex and probably technically difficult is Angel From The Coast.
Hello Bars & Barbells, Gary Moore is another golden oldie, I see you did a reaction to ELO, try Mr Blue Sky next, and there is a superb female singer new on the scene called Lucy Thomas she is only 19 years old she sings Evergreen and plenty more a must to react to.
Some reactor channels are featuring Gary’s live version of Still Got the Blues recorded at the 1990 Montreux Jazz Festival, which is superior to the version featured here. His face melting solo is mind blowing. The entire gig is on a DVD that I purchased many years ago and it is sensational.
If you liked this one, then you'll love PARISIAN WALKWAYS a collaboration between HIMSELF and Phil Lynott the lead singer and bassist from Thin Lizzy from 1978. ❤ it. ( Gary Moore born BELFAST, Northern Ireland 1952 died on holiday in Spain, from a heart attack 6th February 2011 at the age of 58.)
That was the short MTV version you have missed one outstanding guitar solo. Would also suggest you take a look at Rory Gallagher another Irish guitar legend.
You need to play the live version of this song, it has a longer solo that is killer. Gary Moore is a true Legend.
Your right, the live version with the extended solo is awesome. Gary was one of the best guitarists ever.
Or even the studio is better than this with a much longer guitar solo
@@spiffymick7073 Thats why I always leave a link with my requests
I usually say it's best to start with a studio version, but not this one. The live version slaps this one's butt.
✊🏻👊🏻🤟🏻👍🏻🫵🏻
Nobody makes a Les Paul wail like Gary Moore. Outrageously talented.
Probably the most famous Les Paul extant.
Nobody has one like Greenie, unless they bought a reissue copy of it. It has an out phase pickup, which isn't a big deal, but due to some trick wiring, it somehow keeps a very low and thick tone, when normally an out of phase guitar circuit is very bright and thin sounding.
If you put a stick in Gary Moore's hands he would make it sound epic!
@@Gabrielnobre That's what she said.

Oh guys, that was a shortened version and skips some awesome guitaring. Treat yourselves to a live version from Montreux. You won't regret it
That version is one of the most hauntingly beautiful songs ever, with a phenomenal solo. Best version on the internet!
Absolutely listen to the live versions. So much more intense
We'll check out the live version soon!
I saw Gary Moore 4 times. Nobody could make a Gibson guitar cry the way he could. RIP GARY
The live version is amazing. You should watch it for sure!
