This was my first board when I rented a little bit back in the Aussie Alps. Really forgiving for beginners if you can believe it, I was on black diamonds by day 3 and fell in love with the carve this board gave. Looking through reviews to decide if I should commit to the purchase!

Another great review. This one hitting close to home since I just picked up the Mellow in February. been having a great time with it too!
I was debating which one to go for between it and the Jones Stratos, but decided to go for that "surfy feel" and went Mellow.
Now that you reviewed both. Would love to hear your thoughts !
Also, we are quite similar in size and weight, so I assume like me your regular board size would be in the 155-157cm, but for the Mellow the volume shifted concept is a part of the Mellow's design, and Nidecker say if you want the real "Mellow Experiece" you should size down. I went for 150cm and I love how more playful it is and it makes riding trees much easier and smoother. Wondering if there is a reason you stuck with 155 ?

hello, nidecker mellow, for height 187, 91kg, 11us, which size is better to take, 155 or 160?

The "shallow planing rocker" in the nose reminds me of the Jones Mind Expander. How does it compare to the Mellow in deep snow, in your opinion?
This was also my First idea.
I own the Mind Expander and I love it.
agree except ME has flat rocker profile cf camber
@@robpalmer3919 Yes, but the ME has also TractionTech and lifted edges.
The Nidecker is more like my Goodboard Capra.
It is very similar when you compare the ease of float, but overall the ME has a better feel in deep snow. The mellow is more capable for all-mountain exploring and riding variable terrain imo though
@@BoardArchive That's what I thought, I guess the Ultra Mind Expander would be more comparable because of the camber. I bought my ME as a dedicated pow board but is surprisingly fun everywhere!

Sounds like it's a little wider, but with a shorter turn radius than the Jones Hovercraft. The Hovercraft offers a 7700 sintered base. I wonder how it compares to this extruded base.
