I just had an H pipe put on with these axel backs and my god, it's honestly the best sound and tone of any exhaust for the s550! There is some Drone around 2k rpm but it's not terrible. I'd say this set up is super worth it! I wouldn't even get corsa extremes after having this!
I would love to hear the H pipe with the Magnaflow Street. I know the sound should be similar but I'd like to know how much the drone is reduced and if the sound is just as nice at idle.
Great video Bill. I saw that you like this as much as MRT/ Roush combo which was the loudest one I heard. The deep sound is cool like my 1986 Mustang GT I use to have with all stock except for Flow masters mufflers. Deep tone all the way.
Had an X with ford racing axle back. Replaced with this and havent quit smiling. It does drone pretty bad at 2000 but it sounds so phenomenal I couldnt care less
Don't really understand why people hate drone. When I was 18, I hopped up my 4.6 Cougar with 4.10 gears, bolt-ons, got the 4A shifting crisper, and put Flowmaster 10s on it. It droned like a sonofab****. And I loved it lol
I'm really not a fan of magnaflow exhaust cuz in the past they weren't that loud and I like loud but not too loud. I like a nice deep tone. But this set up I do like with the Magnaflow competition axle back and the h pipe sounds really good
I had this exact same setup and I loved it a lot. It sounded amazing, music 🎶 to my ears👂 but when my S550 became my daily driver it got annoying really quick because of the drone. Talking to someone either on the phone or a passenger made it hard to hear because of the drone. I ended up switching to the AWE Touring Catback and it sounds amazing as well with NO drone at all. MRT + the MF Competition exhaust is great combination that’s if your car isn’t your daily driver.

Guys if you want the loud deep exhaust but don’t want it to be loud or have drone than GTFOH, seriously. I have this setup on my 17’ s550 except with the black tips and I love it. Yes it’s loud, deep, it drones. But that is to be expected when you want to upgrade your exhaust. If you don’t want it to be loud or drone stick with the stock exhaust......Or go buy a Camaro.

Yeah good luck with your build. I do have a couple rattles but I have pin pointed them and decent sound deadener will fix the issue. Just haven’t had time recently.
Is there anyway you can show the other previous exhausts at idle. Most of the other videos have a short start up where you can hear the idle for a quick second, the only reason we focused on this is how unique it sounds. A majority of customers aren't concerned with how it sounds at idle so we don't focus on it.

Also how does the MRT H Pipe compare to the catback Competition System by Magnaflow? Is it louder or quieter? Which setup drones more?
You hear it on the highway when cruising. It wouldn't bother me enough not to use it but sound is very subjective. I have used other mufflers in the past that were far worse.

sleepingzero I was just driving our convertible with the Magnaflow cat back on it and forgot how much I liked the sound of it. The H will be a little deeper at idle but not quite as aggressive sounding at WOT. Idle wise the Comp axleback and H pipe is tough to beat.
You probably like that high pitched raspy ass annoying ricer exhaust tone that most bagged douchebags with daddy's-money-bought-mustang like. Not sure what an offroad midpipe is considering there are no cats in the mid pipe.
How bad is the drone? I used to have the MBRP Race and that drone was more like a vibration in my ear which wasn't great for driving. Would this be similar or would it just be loud? Might be picking this axle back soon.
I just installed this system on my wife's 2017 GT AND all I can say is WOW!! It is deep it is throaty and it sounds AWESOME!
I wish magnaflow would offer a magnapack axle back for the 11-14s. Had them on my 3v and they were amazing.

eazyd34 Take it to any local exhaust shop and they can handle it for no more than an hour or two of labor.

+Victor Villalobos With the H pipe you will get some highway drone, that is usually the trade off for that deeper tone.

That is how the cat back comes. It will have a very deep tone but the tradeoff is some drone at highway speeds
