My top 3 fave skates in their time: Kronos Reign (powerslide), adapt GTB, Rollerblade Twister. Honourable mention for Seba High, going from the Bauer to that was fun. Oh and there were Salomons I loved, one aggressive and one urban. Can’t remember the names.
Hi, what are your other three favorite skates? I'm thinking about buying some skates and I wanted to ask you, in your opinion, which one do you think is better? The FR SPIN or the ROLLERBLADE CROSSFIRE? Thanks for the information 🙏
@@davidariel1261 from what I experienced, that he was skating on I would say, Rollerblade Crossfire would be his fav. He seemed to really love them. But I'm not aware if he ever skated the FR Spins....
Thanks Bill - I can't remember if you've done a video on this already but could you do one on how 'the perfect' skate should feel as I reckon it's quite individual depending on people's feet? Some people recommend going a size down or even two sizes down from their regular shoe size/mondo, I tend to just skate my shoe size but sometimes I feel like I could have a tighter fit... Thanks in advance!
I just went back to 80s instead of trying to get used to 110s on the trail. I had an unrelated shoulder injury and although I’ve been through PT, I've got a case of the yips about falling. So back to the smalls because I'm better at falling on them, if that makes sense. It does take you back to that old familiar. I'm in my 50s so it’s truly amazing to see how far in-line skates have come due to advances in technology.
Here you go 👍 Please don't fall asleep crying. You are in a large part what got me to pick up skating. Been going out and skating nearly every single day (weather permitting) for 3 weeks now!
These look sweet af! 🔥 Love the compact, angular design, which is something I wasn’t keen on when the RB Twister first arrived on the scene, but I really feel it looks superb in this colour-way. I’d often wondered what a rockered 80 might be like, and I’ve been pretty close with my FR Freerides. They came with a flat 253mm, 90/80/80/90 setup, which very quickly became rockered. It’s super-manoeuvrable, but I did feel I was losing too much stability, especially over uneven ground. On 80s, flat is just right! 👌 Great to see you back on 80s ripping it up again! 👊
AWESOME WORK, HUGE RESPECT - I can see that hockey 🏒 wired into you. I've JUST bought a pair of Twister🌀XT's in my "boat size" of, well, the biggest Rollerblade do - it's a 12.5 over here in 🇬🇧Blighty & I'm skating again, after a 30yr hiatus (I'm 52)... Sooooo inspired watching you dude & I LOVE these skates!🤙🏼
I had a 2018 Twister X. just sold them away last month. They were great skates, stiff and strong like you said. I also had the 3WD frames to swap, were really great comfortable skates.
Do you prefer 4x80 or 4x90 for cruising around the city? I often wonder how much a difference in agility they are, especially how the longer wheelbase affects the ease of pulling heel-pivot or toe-pivot moves. Is the speed gain of 90s over 80s that noticeable?
I am a quad skater and figure skater, so I am used to heeled leather boots. I bought the Rollerblade Twister two years ago and they have been sitting in my closet, pretty much unused because every time I put them on, I feel intense pain on my feet. I don't know if it's the stiff plastic material, or the fact that I am on a flat boot, but watching your videos inspires me to give them another try. I really want to do more street skating! Also, I am thinking about buying some endless frames so that I create get a rockered set up, because after spending so much time skating on figure skates (rockered), skating on inlines feels like being on rails!
you should get in touch with leon and have them send a pair of the FR x Wizard Base with the NR90. is the LE really just a recolor of the XT? i have a pair of XTs and while i like the colorway, that by itself doesn't warrant another pair in my book. liked the review though, awesome content as per usual.
i bought my Adapt GTOs because of your past uploads - loved them! I have tried many frames with these boots because they support 165mm, 195mm and UFS mounts. Always a pleasure to see a new upload from you, and your wonderful voice/comments over are amusing!
Thank you for your great quality videos 😊 I just bought it...the feeling is amazing...responsive, confortable, great look...I LOVE your videos...all the best for you...greatings from France
I love the SE colors. Shame I already have so many skates (3 pairs of twister edge alone) I stopped for now. There is only one flaw that I'm aware of, and is the shock absorber notches at the bottom of it can break and the part starts moving around. They changed that design on the Lightnings.
Would be interested in seeing you review the fr neo. Haven’t seen much coverage of it from the people I follow. Really curious about the more foot s shaped tie box it appears to have
I've been strictly on hockey skates the last few years, but those things are tempting. Haven't had Rollerblades since my OG Lightnings back in the 90s, but I can definitely see grabbing a pair of these at some point.
Bill your professional skater. What if the best skate for a biginer wasn't the skate for a pro. For example, isn't it more important for a biginer to have the comfort of a soft boot than to have control that he doesn't yet need. I just got a pair of Next and I'm desperately hoping they end up feeling like my VO2S90.
Love this colourway, and great video! Such a shame my feet hate the twisters. They have a great fit, but if you have an accessory navicular bone, you might be in for a bad time unfortunately
I’d love to see your top 3 favorite skates and reasons why. I’m rolling on FR3s and they are pretty awesome skates. They have a very comfortable fit. I had a lower end pair of Rollerblades and they were very uncomfortable. FR3s maybe a bit heavier compared to others so I’m always looking for a more superior skate that isn’t crazy expensive that fits a wider foot.
Hi! Nice videos! Love your power-stop! Just wondering what your frame alignment is? From some shoots it seems that is inwards in 2, and from others 3? Asking because a couple of weeks adjusted from fabric 3 to 2 since it seemed to be that the boot was forcing me to go to the outside to much & almost fall several times due that. Thank you!
Hi Bill, do you have any plans on reviewing the Atmos Gear skates? Most youtubers on them look a bit sketch. Figured if anyone could skate them its you. Would love to see a review before buy.
The gap between the wheels isn't that big. It doesn't give issues when encountering small pebbles or grint on the road? I have to use Powerslide next 110's to get a good ride without hiccups. 87mm wheel lock up whole time on bad roads.
Nice review. Nice colour too - interesting that the LE is simply a different colour. But what a nice colour! Would be keen to know your foot size / shape to help understand whether a good fit for you might apply for my Pacific Islander feet (2E, sometimes 4E, wide toe box but high arch and narrow heels - which can cause problems with locking down the heel in my snowboard, ski and skate boots).
A "flaw" to me is that other brands frames are not centered... You are lucky with your feet... Can't wear my Twister, too narrow in the toes and some pressure point on inside left ankle bone 😢 My 3 fave skates are: PS Storm, PS Next and FR1 👍🏻
Came here to make the same comment about the pressure point, except mine were with the RB Pro X, which I so badly wanted to love. I love Rollerblade; they just don't love my feet 😭. Ended up going back to the Seba Trix 2 W.
Bill how wide are these and how flat is the arch in these? I am thinking of ditching my FR1 boots because the arch is so narrow. I got them way too big to accommodate my wide wide feet and want to get something that fits right. I am running 5 wheel NN Dragon+ frames.

@BillStoppard Hi! the final version of the fr neo 1 is already on the market and I don't see any reviews, opinions or users of these skates.. Does anyone know what's going on? Or maybe someone is a happy user and can tell about them?
Excellent review. I've been eyeballing the Twisters even though I really don't need another pair right now 😂 I would love to know what your top 3 skates are
I have Twister XT and Crossfire. They're both great, can't go wrong. The twister is more effective on the heel lock due to the reinforced tongue. The Crossfire need the "runners lace" at the ankle point in order to work properly. In terms of responsiveness both are great. The Crossfire feels more solid but is a very small difference. The Twister liner is very good, so much so I have them on 6 out of 7 pairs of different brand skates I have.
@@SaccoBelmonte After skating hockey blades my whole life, I couldn't imagine going back to a removable liner. At some point in the 90s I started considering skates with removable liners to be inferior, probably due to less agility and responsiveness
I usually prefer the simplicity of an integrated liner. But with all the premium liners available there’s much to be gained by customizing or just swapping liners out to keep them fresh.
@@CritCommanda I'm sure my Twister XT or my Powerslide imperial (both I use also on ice) are a lot more supportive than a lot of hockey boots I've seen around. Also connected to my feet properly. I cannot imagine jumping on hockey skates unless we're talking Carbon boots as in the HZRDUS 9X. I have done enough Walz jumps on mines that I'm sure they are super fine and would not wear down over time as other skates do. Of course, if you do actual Hockey matches I think you should use Hockey skates. I think inline skates and liners got a lot better in the last 10 years. Especially the last 5 years.
i just feel like all the new skate are bulky i have a set of twister 80s and they feel perfectly sized tried a set of lightning 80s and the boot length is huge

No way, twisters are a horrible fit and the Rollerblade brand is not what it used to be. You must have narrow feet and ankles otherwise severe pain. An FR1 with intuition liner is the best quality all round skate by a long way..
I have a moderately wide foot and average ankles and found the FR1 a good skate but a little too boxy/roomy. The twister is definitely a higher quality skate but fit is more important!
Yup. I so badly wanted to love my Rollerblade RB Pro X's but have ended up going back to the Seba Trix 2 W because no matter what I did I ended up with blistered and bleeding ankles in different places but on both legs, and I know I'm not the only one to have experienced the ankle/pressure point issues with RB skates.
