The pickups seem well balanced tonally. So many modern guitars have thin sounding bridge pickups and muddy neck pickups. It's nice if you don't have to constantly adjust the EQ on the amp.
Firstly, This is a really great review. I like the way you demo all the tones with a clear explanation and plenty of clean tone so, one can actually hear the guitar and not the just the tone of some of pedal. I've just bought one of these. I've been looking for the right Tele for as few years. Two things I love about this guitar: the twisted Tele neck pickup is a much better balance with the bridge than a standard Tele neck pickup and, that soft v satin finished neck is a dream. Finally, a decent thicker neck on a reasonably priced Tele. I think this will my new number one, over my 2004 Les Paul standard and, Fender original series 50s strat.
In 39 years of playing - never gave Tele's a look......until this one hit the scene. Besides the Tele having the best balance of any electric I've felt - this satin-back soft V neck is absolutely the bomb (my opinion, of course). So good, in fact, I'll be replacing the dreadful modern C (made for puny hands) neck in my new Player Series Stratocaster with one of these - next to my L.P. 50's neck, the best neck profile I've felt! The icing is the pickups. These MIM Fenders are simply amazing. Get one over 8lbs and you'll be golden!
Absolutely agree. Just bought one of these and am blown away. The soft v neck in satin and the full gloss fretboard? Seriously? It's the best of both worlds. The pickups are also well thought out. The bridge pup is just spanky enough to never need replacement. Tele neck pickups are almost always kinda worthless. That's not what draws us to these guitars. But the custom neck pup in this is very useable. It sounds a ton like a Tele bridge - just a bit fatter. Love the fat frets, as well. Fender just knocked this out of the park. Cannot be happier with this purchase.
I wish all demos were done like this. You showcase the specs of the guitar well and, although your playing is very good, you play to showcase the guitar instead of your skills. (I hope that comes across as the compliment I intend it to be.)
Getting really nice tones from this guitar. Sounds really bright and high output with controls turned up. On my budget I'm wavering between this guitar, it's sister with the neck humbucker and bridge single coil or a PRS S2 Mira.
I love the guitar and the look + sound. But I don't know if the neck is to fat for my small hands. I like the moder C shape from the player series. Can anyone let me know if it is a really big fat neck? Thanks.
Nice guitar but the black guard on the surf green with the maple fingerboard needs to go, white or white pearl would be better IMHO, but that can be easily done by whoever buys the guitar
Not sure if you're still looking, but I actually tried one of these out today! the v shape is not very prominent and actually super comfortable, but i had exactly the same worries as you beforehand
V-shape necks disgusted me when I thought about them! But having tried a few guitars having them without me even realising, I understand that they're very soft V's and above that: very comfortable!
If you primarily play one long enough it's possible it can cause permanent V cuff of the palm of the hand resulting in surgery if not multiple surgeries to correct ' So skip over your teenage days' not knowing what you want out of life and think back to your late 60's early 70's switching hands compared to a deep C or heavy D shape necks and if you have a friend who can trust you to play around with his/hers spend time alone doing so to make that decision.
@@scoz ended up buying an american special which was being cleared due to the performer series being released. Did try both of the captioned models in my thread though. For what it's worth not a big fan of noiseless pickups on the nashville. The vintera seemed ok but build quality on the store sample wasnt to my standard. Havent tried the performer series but you should put one in the mix for consideration.
@@scoz another great series are the MIJ traditional and hybrid models, but at the right price. They are definately good bang for buck. The craftsmanship is top class. Id probably choose between a performer and MIJ, unless the vintera was bargain buy.
Wish they would start rolling the fretboard edges on all the Mexicans, Its weird they roll the Americans and the Classic Vibes. The 2 Baja's I've had were like this a super hard edge, Its a shame its such a great neck otherwise.
Was just about to go check one of these out used that's priced to sell, and then I saw that you can't adjust the truss rod without removing the neck. Why, Fender, WHY??? Of all the "modern" features you included, you skipped the most important one. Total deal-breaker. I don't play guitars that can't be adjusted without removing the neck.
Excellent performance, but completely dry tone for me, despite the fact that I love fender. Too special telecaster ... or amplifier .. Although all the classics
u and i have the same style and skill level in our playing with one fine difference u do it while awake
😂😂

Agree. I bought one of these two years ago after trying some American Original 50s Teles. The Vintera Modified neck is great.

The series out-of-phase tone is amazing.
was gonna comment as well, generally this guitar looks golden
Love that vintage sound from out of that amp!
I got the same guitar in same colour yesterday. Just saw the video because you hold the same guitar. Amazing stuff man I get every info here,
Thank you, very methodical approach to all the differing sound capabilities of the Mod Tele.
At least A GOOD MUSICIAN who plays those vintera Tellies! Sounds good, man!
Great demo. I love the whole package!
Thé télé sound which no other guitar can touch , doesn’t matter how much you spend

Jeez, it cuts like glass, love it
This is an excellent guitar.
Very thorough and informative as usual!

Just bought one wooohooo it arrives tomorrow
What do you think so far?
Just got mine last week it plays and sounds awesome
Nice playing! 👍🏼
Only difference between the Baja is pickups, and body wood? And gloss neck vs satin neck
Yeah! Great demo!
Good video, thanks !
Except the alder body, what’s the difference with the Baja ?
When did brass get to be chrome barrel saddles?lol
Still a good video.
Great player and a super guitar
was thinking the same, lol still gonna pick one of these babies up tho
Is This Better Than The Vibe ?
Nice guitar but the black guard on the surf green with the maple fingerboard needs to go, white or white pearl would be better IMHO, but that can be easily done by whoever buys the guitar
Best color yet!
Black pick guard is the only color for surf green
Agree. Just grabbed a Daphne blue and same deal. Ordered a pickguard right away
This is a different color Baja, why did they change the name?
Different pickups
@@peacewalkr no, same pickups.
Bridge pickup is different. Not massively different but definitely different . Neck pickup is the same, twisted Tele.
Jim White So they can charge about $300 more.
Marketing. To justify inflation
Basically a baja classic player.
Correct. Re-branded with different colors. Gotta say I like the colors better. Considering Daphne Blue but swapping in a white pick guard!
@@howardwalton1876 HELL YEAH!
Now with a satin neck I think.
very nice demo. Is there any difference with the previous 50's baja tele (other than color) ??? tks
I think the baja has a full gloss neck and this has a satin back. Also the surfy colours on this one are alder, not ash. That's all I can see
New pickups, I think designed to be a little "hotter" than the Baja's.
@@smwatson1512 I think the 50s baja is the only one with unchanged pickups, since it has the same custom shop pickups
You guys think it is better than the american performer?
The pickups are different then the Baja and I think the neck isn’t glossed the n the back or as thick. It’s a subtle change.
9:25 I gotta art school girlfriend, yeah 😎
I love these guitars I just can't afford one
The control plate looks crooked??
Straighten your head. Jeez.
Mine is too...
Is the Vintera '50s Telecaster Modified(Butterscotch Blonde) an ash body?
Yes
Im really interested in this guitar, but I've never played a v-shape neck and Im very concerned it wouldnt be for me...

Is this made in mexico?
can she do jazz?
brass
never got this; synthetic bone nut, it either a synthetic nut or a bone nut but can not be both !!!!
Maybe they mold the actual stock they cut the nuts from, into actual bone shapes before they cut the nut itself..
@@NStuffMusic a nut is a nut , its not rocket science but its either bone or plastic
This or a Nashville Deluxe tele? Anyone A/B'd?
