I finally was able to pull off my first gallop yesterday. I think most of the problem was how I laid my picking hand. Before, I was holding it flat like I would do for downstrokes, but my wrist would quickly tire out. I tried holding it at an angle that I refer to as the Scorpion angle because of the angle of my wrist and fingers. I was able to gallop for a full ten seconds before needing to stop for a bit.
First off Just watching how you hold the guitar has helped me.This is a awesome lesson it’s just what I needed. Keep doing what you’re doing Jason! Thanks
Thank you and glad this helped!! I’m not sure if you’re in my Metal Riff Master course yet but when you’re ready to jump in, I think this will really help you progress: www.jasonstallworth.com/courses/
Jason your the best. I was gonna buy your new program when it came out but I already paid for 6 months of another program but I dont like it that much so ill be getting yours soon.
Awesome to hear that!! Yeah I’ve bought other programs just to see what’s out there and wasn’t too impressed. I put my heart and soul into Metal Riff Master!
Love the use of the 3rds you got going on there. It adds some real character to rythm playing. Using the 3rd interval dyad you can really define the dyad is either major or minor playing the standard 5th doesn't give you that
I have all the MGA & MRM backing tracks and play along with them. Incredibly helpful & fun. Now I just need to figure out how to video myself while I play a track. As soon as I go to video myself on my iPhone the backing track stops.😖😖😖😖😖
Dude, so cool to see this and thank you! 🤘 I'd recommend importing the backing track into your DAW and opening another track for your guitar and play along (and record yourself!)

Good stuff! I just picked up my first 7 string guitar and new Bogner Uberschall amp and using your tips to not use low b string in beginning to play normal 6 string stuff. I use metronome and drum machine for accuracy. Speed comes eventually. What is your favorite metal amp, Jason? I love my Uberschall so crushing and tight low end- no boost needed.
I'm really loving my EVH 5150 III! I just posted a video going over my settings, recording at lower volumes here: ruclips.net/video/bsHE4_C0w1E/видео.html
I normally use my EVH 5150 III (EL34) and mic it up but for this video, I used Positive Grid's BIAS Amp 2/FX2. It's convenient and I've really been able to get a nice sound that I like. I have several videos on my settings but this is probably the best one: ruclips.net/video/oBMCRnZROQU/видео.html
Hey Jason, found your youtube Channel yesterday. I subscribed and signed your mailing list. But i didn‘t get the sheet for the free lesson. Just started to play guitar wirh 49 a few days before. So maybe you could help me 🙏
Thank you for subscribing. The first email should have had a button that goes to the lesson, and on that page there's another button to download the tabs. If you still don't see, just reply back to one of my emails
If some are interested I made some drum patterns to go along with the exercises. It's not that great, but it fits with guitar part (and you can still adjust it to your taste). There's a guitar pro file and midi files you throw in your DAW (I've been using Ableton stock drums, it's general Midi, but there might be notes you'll have to move around if you don't use the same kit) www.mediafire.com/file/vhijt4mg4xshlt3/Metal_Riffs_and_Licks_Practice_Guide_%2528V2%2529.rar/file
You should get an email that will take you to the link for video and download the tabs. I did make a few updates to the free course I do have a premium metal guitar course here with 80 lessons all with backing tracks and tabs if you’re ever interested in something like that: www.jasonstallworth.com/courses/
@cjr31986 …also, go to my playlists and you’ll find all of the video for rhythms, leads, etc! Once you dig in a bit, you might want to check out my online course Metal Riff Master here: www.jasonstallworth.com/courses/
Actually, I see the issue - there was a typo in your email address. I’ve corrected this and you should now have a new email with the login credentials. Please let me know if you any issues or questions…and thank you again for getting the course! 🙏🏻🤘
@@robertjarrett9658 Hi, I responded to your note. That's going to be a setting on your phone that will allow downloads. The tabs are PDF files, so you should have no issue but I recommend researching to see how your specific phone handles downloads and files. I also include the Guitar Pro file but that's only to be used for that software. You don't necessarily need that file but I include it as many use Guitar Pro.
you rule with own style im 63 been 30yrs into it ur teaching is cool
Great to hear that, brother, and it’s good to see us older dudes still playing!

Oh that's cool to hear! Yeah sometimes having a different grip for that particular method helps!
Bro I am still working on mine. Plus I better get it down before I get an operation on my rotator cuff, cause by an injury in the weight room.
