I bought one of these completely ignorant of its capabilities! I do that every now and then, especially with pedals. I saw the price and 60 voices and ordered it. It’s an absolutely fantastic instrument! What an unexpected pleasant surprise! I don’t recommend my method though, unless you get a nice settlement and want to experience how the other half lives! Lol
Thanks for that. This makes me think ... if the Roland TR-8S contains all of Roland's classic drum synths, plus FM drums and a great sequencer ... then the SH-4D is a collection of some of Roland's great synth engines. Now I want one :)
I really like the fact it has different models and a drum part. I'm thinking to get this one or buy a JX08 + tr6s. Already had the 101 and 707 and really liked them but I want something more direct than the mc's
I hear ya. I've been going round in circles with Grooveboxes and Synths for years. I think I've finally had a Goldilocks moment with the SmplTrek. But this SH-4d is up there too.
@@felipefs106 Yeah I had one for a while a few years back. I liked it a lot, but also found it quite frustrating at times. I see it's just had a big update which looks decent. The SmplTrek's not perfect, but I've just clicked with it. Never made so many beats 👍
It’s always a trade-off: the 101 & 707 have thousands of sounds but sound design is hard; the SH-4d has much less sounds but excellent sound design features 😏
For purely tinkering with 80s/90s synth sounds would it be stupid to get JX-08 + JD-08 over this? I got Serum for modern stuff, not too interested in drums.
@@Alpha-DX Yeah that’s a tough call. I have the 101 and was waiting for a sale to upgrade to the 707. But then I saw how much easier sound design is on this thing and ended up getting the SH-4d instead. I wouldn’t be surprised if future firmware updates flesh out the features, maybe allowing us to sample from the 101… 😉

Just ordered one !! thank you !!!
sounds brilliant
It does sound pretty nice doesn't it? 👍
This is basically an updated SH32. That was an interesting groovebox.
Powerful synth
Great vid, great synth
Thanks 👍
Does it have an IN input jack for processing external audio signals via the numerous knobs?

@@mc84music have your tried the Digitakt? That’s my current “sampler/sequencer” but the Smpltrek looks very capable too

@@symbiat0 I’ve sold my mc boxes in order to try the Sh 4d. I liked the presets but I also like to modify sounds and create a few from scratch
Thanks for this super nice demo! -are there kist thats like the Linn drums or 727 for making synthwave?
Para synthwave moderno no es necesario el oscuro sonido de la linndrum el primer kit de este video es totalmente 707
How do you connect to the computer to control with midi? Just the usb C cable?
The Korg Electribe lives on.
😂

👍I LOVE ! 💙⚪❤
Do those synth patches use a single part or are some of them.using more than 1 part ?
They are all just single parts. I don't think it's possible to have dual patches like the JX-08 (but I could be wrong)
Ah ok, cheers👍
On the fence here, deciding to keep the MC-101 and get a 4d or just go with the MC-707......

are those drums preset with individual reverb, or you add it after ?
They already have reverb baked into a lot of the kits, but you can easily tweak/turn off
Nice! How did you get one?
Just sounds kind of sizzly but the functionality seems impressive
Quasimidi Rave-o-lution 309 mk ll😂

Does nothing for me.
Drum prests very shit
