This is by far, THE best tutorial I've seen for any song I've seen. THANK YOU JENTON! :D
The thing at 1:18 is just a D major chord (D F# A) and to play that part you start with the D chord. Then move your finger to play a G along with your thumb playing the D. Then move to F# with your thumb in the D followed by D and E and then D by itself. You thumb always stays on the D. Hope this helps. It doesn't sound great by itself but played fast enough and with the left hand it works.

This is the only tutorial I have found after a half hour of searching that isn't to confusing or done by a ten year old. I'm still a beginner on piano and this helped a lot. Thank you:]

The instrumental version in which i can play and sing along to without the added melody, i love it!

@72621Angel on your right hand, your fingers should be playing A, G, F# E and D, while your thumb is just hitting the D the whole time.

I love hate everyone is saying it's 'too fast' and 'bad' - did you ever consider this may not be a tutorial for complete beginners? If he had to stop and explain every single chord and whatnot it would be like a 20 minute video. I think it's amazing he managed to do an 8 minute video over the whole song.

as you were playing I was singing the lyrics in my head, this is my next project, learn to play this and play it well.
