but no back then they were all on the same page.
it's just by the time you get to MGS5, they brought in someone new.
but the truth is, they wanted David, but at the time
he was not happy about his contract. there were also disagreements with Kojima,
there were a whole host of things, but I've always said for years,
that Konami will one day come back to their roots.
I mean, remaking MGS3 with a graphics and control update only is also pretty fucking smart. I've been spamming youtube comment sections asking for exactly that for nearly 10 years.

I rather wait for Kojima to make a new title still in the same genre at mgs but a different game entirely he did mention this before. I love mgs but after watching Konami did to Kojima , I d rather trust Kojima

Mgs4 is the main reason I bought a PS3 again now days. Even though it's coming out again I'm still getting the original at expensive ole gams store.

A full on documentary without kojima would be lacking substance and pointless. I think kojima would do it funnily enough, but konami are petty and spiteful.
As Konami always do, this collection is just a port from MGS: HD collection on 720p and a poor MGS1 version.
It isn’t a poor version. It’s better than GOG’s and includes vr missions and integral.

I guess. Yet sony doesn't nothing with mgs 4 for decades now. Mgs 4 deserves to be remastered. It's actually a good and epic game.

They'll have to actually port it rathet than slapping an emulator and shipping it that way. Ps3 emulation is very difficult and requires good hardware. So it's gonna take time or won't ever happen

5 updates, and the collection isn’t unfinished. Plus fan mod support is great. Mgs1 alone contains every single version of 1, including vr missions and integral.

But the audio, input delays, visuals , general bugs/ glitches kinda take away from this product for me and I imagine a lot of others as well. Graphically and audio could’ve been really touched up . I mean having Spatial Audio or surround sound would be amazing for example

@@Rucy_Ramone lol that’s not how remakes work bro. They’re rebuilding the game from scratch, it’s not a simple remastered version where they’re just updating the graphics. BUT, If what you say is true, then it ruins the whole experience honestly. This new game has a whole different look and feel to it that it wouldn’t match the quirky energy of the OG voice work.

@@topbackpodcast2615 Konami has already admitted they are reusing the old audio and when asked about new recordings from old voice actors they said they have not been contacted to do any wokr for the "remake". It's Konami.. so it is minimal effort, cheap as possible type of work.
@@Rucy_Ramone They don't need to use new audio. The original performance are brilliant and it wouldn't be possible to do them exactly the same as they were like 20 years later. Some of the original VAs aren't even alive anymore. This may be cheaper, but its also the right choice. I do not like Konami, but don't encourage them to fuck things up. Minimal trust is a much safer policy.
For those in the comments whining about no mention of Kojima...
Kojima was an egotistical prick with a celebrity fetish. Plain and simple. Hayter loved the franchise more than the creator even did, and put more on the line just to be involved. He even gave up half his salary for Twin Snakes just to get other VA's back in the studio. Kojima was trying to replace Hayter after MGS2 and force him, and only him, to re-audition for the role every time. He madfe no one else re-audition for their characters or similar, otherwise Otakon's VA would have had to re-audition to play Huey. His fanboys made up excuses that it was for "plot" reasons, like with MGS5, but that's just a poor lie. If that was truly the reason, the Japanese dub would have replaced Snake as well, but they didn't. Same VA. They also would have kept Hayter as Big Boss in Ground Zeroes, but they didn't. Big Boss wasn't much older in GZ than PW, so the same voice should have stayed, but it didn't. I actually loved the performance we did get out of Sutherland, but it was a slap in the face for Hayter to not even get a call about development. Kojima hated Hayter for not being a famous enough celebrity. Plain and simple.
Despite their wrongs and mishandlings for a long time with no good excuse, Konami has shown more love and respect to Hayter in the last year alone than Kojima showed him for his entire time with the MGS franchise. Hayter, I'm happy to see you back. Kojima, you're out.

I refuse to support a company who has absolutely no respect for the man who put the soul to this franchise. Erasing Kojima's name is very disrespectful. No matter how Hideo Kojima is or what happened between him and Konami, the fact that he gave identity to Metal Gear franchise is there, alongside the rest of the team who worked on all those games of course. Konami cannot just delete his name. I will not play a MGS game if Kojima is not mentioned as he deserves. There is always the option of downloading a rom and emulate.

It’s a bummer that they go out of their way not to mention Kojima, but at the same time I think he kinda gets too much sole credit for them. You’d never even know the games had a hugely important co-writer unless you looked it up yourself.
So in a way It’s good that he just refers to “the developers” and doesn’t just spend this gushing about the brilliant Hideo Kojima, because every game is a collaboration of people coming up with ideas and implementing them. He was the director and main creative voice, but he didn’t do it alone.
Pretty sure I’ve already downloaded legacy collection part 1 last year. How the hell is it supposedly just now released?
I have a hard time imagining a principled guy like Hayter being down to hype MGS3's remake if they weren't going to re-record lines or at least pay the original actors royalties on their original performances
A sad story is that MGS1 in "master" collection has a slower framerate and MGS 3 control schema is bad for aiming and cannot be changed (because a square button is not pressure sensitive in a dual sense controller they change the schema). The collection was made without heart and proper commitment - just for $. MGS deserves better.
Also, you should mention Kojima and his team.

I've always said thay they should have kept David for Phantom Pain. Makonf him the voice of the actual big boss would have been the right move, even if it would have been a give away. Or just both characters and have Sutherland voice another character.
Gotta say would not so skipped this video if it were anything else but 😅 common the voice and one of my favorite lores series of games of all times
Also side note he probably needs to bring up how the games literally shadowed or damm right predicted future events in our history technology wise games were ahead of the curve at times
