I keep seeing comments about how easy this is... I wonder what level of "beginner" I really am (is there an "infant" level?)... this looks like a lot of steps for a beginner sewer.. Regardless, this is still super aspirational for an "infant" sewer like me!
If you have a sewing machine and get use to using it with basic projects before. You can try this one. It's easy and beginner friendly as it doesn't require too much technique in term of making the pattern like a tailor. But the result is still very cute and wearable.
It is actually really simple with the technical skills that you need 🫶🏻 but don’t worry I have failed making this dress because i have never worked without a paper pattern🥹🥲
This is such a cute cozy dress. And it'll hide so much🤭 Also I love how Jess puts propper pockets in all her pieces. We love outfits with big functional pockets. Thank you so much for sharing. P.S I love how she actually wears her previous makes in her videos.
Is this correct? It seems too easy!! Jess, thank you for your hard work. Every week I look forward to seeing what other project you have tackled and what more I can learn from you. Even if I don't make all the clothes you show us, there is so much I've learned. You really do make things in a simple way, and the result is always cute. Thank you!!!
@@JessDangDIY I tried to make it but it's very tight in the waste area. I think it's better to depend on the waste width instead of the shoulders width in the upper top width. But thank you very much for the beautiful patterns and the big offer 🌸 best channel in RUclips 🌸
I am a literal beginner on the sewing machine and want to make pieces for myself to build the wardrobe I want! Your videos are AMAZING! I am currently doing this project as my second ever sewing project and it is coming out SO perfect! Thank you for having such easy to follow tutorials and making cute clothes. I am also so grateful you teach how to make your own pattern so that I can hopefully be capable of making my own patterns and pieces in the future. I appreciate you, and you are making this sewing journey so fun and easy.
I loved jess dang the way you make the base body for the dress and it's very simplified, especially for beginners who learn easily. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.😍💕💕👏👏
THANK YOU! I just made this as my very first sewing project! It took me 3 days, but it was so clear to follow and I learned so much. I used a light flannel material and I love how it turned out!
I discover this channel by accident (and this video) because i click on it by mistake. I find the dress cute and because I'll start in September to sew with a machine I give a chance to the video. Well I'm impressed! It's seems pretty easy (except when she make the thing at the end of the sleeves I don't know the name it's seems difficult). I need a dress for a wedding in June 2023 I think I'll made this dress it's so cute and my mother in law we'll be really happy to see that she boost my motivation for sewing my own clothes and that she help me with my passion more than anyone ! (She deserves the world !!!)
I just wanted to thank you for your tutorials, they are so cute, simple to follow and not overwhelmingly complicated 🙌❤️ I've made several dresses from this particular video and they all turned out so amazing 😍 it got me excited and more confident in my abilities, all thanks to you 🙏 this dress is easy to whip up in a day and the result is super comfy, cute and easy to wear and adjust size wise 😊 I'm making one for my sister right now, who is pregnant at the moment and needs something, that'll still fit comfortably in a few weeks 😊
Thank you so much for your incredible tutorials! I started sewing this dress and am very excited for the result! I was wondering if you had some tips/ explanation on how to sew the "V tip" of the neckline ? I have been struggling to make it look good as I am unsure on ho to proceed where the seams overlap.. Thank you!!
Just finished making my own baby doll dress, I love it! Easy to follow instructions although I found attaching the cuffs the right way round to the sleeves a bit tricky but got there eventually with a few attempts! Made it using a polycotton this time and I'm thinking of making another one in linen :D
I saw a transition video about this type dress and I was searching for the tutorial for like 1 month. Finally found this. Tutorial is suuupeeerrr easy. Thank you ❤😊
i really really love your tutorials so much!! all your dress designs are so pretty and your enthusiasm at the start of each video really cheers me up. you are helping me so much in my sewing thank you🫂
Im a beginner sewer and i thought that this tutorial would be difficult but if you take it one step at a time its really not too hard!! I love how my dress turned but i would recommend using a thin fabric so that the skirt part is not too puffy. Either way I ❤ my dress!! Thank you so much for making this tutorial!! ☺️
Thank you very much for your time it is so pretty I enjoyed your video. The dress is so easy to make it and your teaching is very interesting. I liked it
Okay I watched this video a few times, I think I'm ready to make it. Now I'm on the hunt for the same fabric you used as I love the look. Wish me luck! Thank you, I'm so excited to get to it..
Hi Jess! I got really inspired from you. This sewing journey is not easy but definitely worth it. I hope I can make a dress soon. Love from Philippines.
Oh i absolutely love love this dress, so easy to thrown on and take off and I love the sleeves too, so cute. Thanks for sharing this hun. Hope the lockdown at your end eases up really quickly😘
So cute....I'm saving this tutorial! You make it look simple...but I'm going to try and line it and use French seams so I can have a warmer dress ...I'm excited to try this 😊😊
Hi Jess this is my favorite dress made my daughter 2 different colors she loves it keep up the good work happy new year everything of the best for you and your family 😘💞
Thank you so much for your amazing channel. I'm a newbie to sewing but my dress came out amazing. Any chance you are able to guide me in making it a maxi dress please? I'm a hijaabi and figured out how to make it long sleeved but would love to make one in maxi length.
I truly love all of your designs it helps me to learn different techniques from you. I am also trying to make this baby doll dress for myself. I will soon share the pictures. Thanks a lot😍 love from INDIA
Your dresses always turn out sooo clean (even on the inside!) Did you use an overlocker to finish some of the seams? Connecting the bodice and skirt always ends up in fraying fabric. Do you have a suggestion? Thanks!
Yes, I usually overlock the seam by using the zigzag stitching and fake overlocking presser foot in my sewing machine. To avoid the fraying fabric, it's better to overlock both of them before. It will help it look cleaner and easier to work with
Hi :) thanks you so much for this video. The dress is so beautiful, i’m sewing one with pink vichy. I only have one question, i did my sleeves and i wanted to assemblate them to the top. Had we to use the zigzag point to sell the 2 back top parts and 2 front top parts before assembling sleeves ? Sorry if my question isn’t correct, i’m not a native english person. Love your job
Hi! This baby-seamstress have a question regarding us with bigger chest areas😅 How would you recommend altering the pattern to make the dress fit better, or do you have to change anything? Anyways, thank you for the amazing channel and lots of love!!💗🌸
You can watch it slower at the step when I made my measurements to adjust for your bust size. With bigger chest, you just need to increase the width of the dress at the top
@@JessDangDIY Yes, thank you! But does the front pattern have to be half the width of the back pattern or is it possible to make just the front pieces wider to not make the dress as baggy in the back? Or will it make the sleeves weird?😅🌼🧡
Your way of explaining is so amazing i made same like this from your video💐 requesting you to mention measurements for L SIZE M SIZE in your description box in upcoming videos so that will be easier to make for everyone..THANK U💌💌💌 love. India
I have a question that I can't figure out on my own. When sewing the front panels together(shoulders attached already), are you sewing down to a v-shape(straight stitching to a point) or a u-shape(straight down, rotate, 2-3 stitches, rotate, straight stitch to neckhole? I hope this made sense as a question cause I AM STUCK.
I am trying to make this now. A small confusion here 4:50, you said the width of the sleeve is 2 times the length of front and back bodice + 20 cm. In that case 36+34+20 wouldn’t be 90 cm?
I keep seeing comments about how easy this is... I wonder what level of "beginner" I really am (is there an "infant" level?)... this looks like a lot of steps for a beginner sewer.. Regardless, this is still super aspirational for an "infant" sewer like me!
Maybe, it is easy for everyone experienced in partern making and sewing? 🤷♀️
If you have a sewing machine and get use to using it with basic projects before. You can try this one. It's easy and beginner friendly as it doesn't require too much technique in term of making the pattern like a tailor. But the result is still very cute and wearable.
