  • Heath expressing his views on Brokeback mountain.
As a side note; The reporter at the beginning of the video is asking about how Heath Ledger felt about the opinions of those people who think the movie is disgusting, he is not expressing his own views. unfortunately i cut the video wrong, He’s probably a top bloke 😁

People out there get offended for others eating an animal! People get offended for people cutting the skin off the penis of other baby boy! If your a free thinker you cant not but offend others! Thing is its okay to be offended, its natural, regardless of your beliefs, its that bad now other people get offended on behalf of someone else! People need to learn that not everyone reads off the same page! Biggest offender is religion!! Without that humans could definitely live in a more harmonious world.

It is a joke to call this film "an important love story." Yes, it was groundbreaking to see a mainstream Hollywood film about a gay relationship. However, the two leads couldn't have had less chemistry (even other straight actors have done a better job), and I found myself cringing during the sex scene, which was neither romantic nor erotic. Besides that, the plot was painfully slow and overly solemn, and I wouldn't sit through it a second time.

I'm far more confrontational about responding to it.... yes, people like to fuck others of the same sex. Don't like it? Tough shit. That's not meaning that I think homosexuality is solely about sex, but as a bi guy I take the stance that people can feel whatever they like about it, but in the end, it's just none of their fucking business what consenting adults do when they're having sex together.

Homosexuals have no desire to create other homosexuals. Homophobes have a desire to create other homophobes. And they do that with homosexuals.
People who are not homosexual and aren't against it, just can't be bothered and will never become homophobes.

Nothing about it is unnatural, but again, people can only focus on sexual acts and the fact that nothing can be 'born' from gay relationships. People need to start seeing homosexuality more in line with the deepest bonds of friendship, instead of sex... and then nobody will be able to say it is unnatural.

i'm still struggling to understand exactly what the psychology is that causes people to feel homophobic and I think you hit the nail on the head, a lot of it has to do with sex, sex seems to be such a sensitive issue to all humans and seems to cause such a complex tangle of emotions, i'm not fully sure why that's the case with people and how it links with our evolution, but it seems to be the case

I remember when me and my friends decided to watch this movie for a laugh at my friends house about 15 years ago now. It only got to about 30 minutes into the movie where i stopped joking around with my mates and actually got intensely watching the movie. After watching it i felt like a whole new person. I cant believe that i was such a prick when i was younger and all the people who have suffered from my horrendous homophobia i send my blessings to.
About a week later i got new friends who where amazing and im still in contact with to this day but in my then new friend group i met a guy named adam. Adam also used to be pretty homophobic until he matured as he grew older but he was the one who actually made me realise i was bisexual. We have been in a relationship now for what feels like forever. We moved in with each other about 2 years ago now and were planning to get married! Honestly if it wasnt for this movie i would probably be in a horrible state right now and i cant even begin to imagine what further damage i could of coursed for the others around me. Sorry if this comment doesnt really make sense as im really bad with my words and i cant express how grateful i am for this movie and what an impact it had on my life.🙏

Not so fast! Psychology tells us the overwhelming majority of people have the capacity for both hetero- and homosexual relationships. However, it's not all 50 - 50. Some people have a stronger "yearning" towards one sexuality than the other. It's all about choice...and make the choice that is best for you, regardless of your inclinations. In other words, do the right thing that is best for you. Remember, there are societal pressures and rejections for choosing a certain lifestyle. Would it be worth it to go through all that. Also, we all have an unconscious mind and it can generate negative feelings, depression, anger, nightmares, etc. because of what we do on the conscious level. Are you willing to deal with all that?...Is it worth it. Yes, there are people who are 100% hetero- or homosexual, but they are in the extremes, not the vast majority of the human population.
Bottom line: Do what HONESTLY gives you peace of mind and makes you feel good about yourself. It's your choice and your life.

The weirdest thing about the controversy surrounding this film is how for some reason the Disney animated movie Home on the Range, a movie about three talking cows, _also received backlash from the exact same people, for the exact same reason,_ despite the movie having no depictions of a same sex relationship; they picketed the release of that movie with signs like "h0mo on the range" and asked for it to be banned, claimed that disney was trying to turn kids gay with this movie that most kids weren't even interested in to begin with, it's just ludicrous.
He sums everything up so well in under two minutes, especially the two points "we're just showing that the love between two men is as real as the love between a heterosexual couple" and "if you really don't like it; just don't watch it".
