I love how with older computer software for music, you only could do 1 or 2 channels to emphasize each sound with echo and whatnot. But with the XM it's like "You want 7 channels for this? We got PLENTY for that".
XM is sample based, so you for samples without infinite looping, you could just import samples with echo on them The high amount of channels is generally used for additive synth or complex chords
